I wish sitcoms had went w/o a laughtrack altogether. one of the reasons I loved The Office was the fact they didn't fake it. if something was funny, you didn't need a cue to laugh. I hate it when I hear the laughing of something that doesn't elicit at least a smile from me. makes me feel stupid for not getting it. there have been plenty other really good shows that didn't use a laughtrack besides The Office like Always Sunny In Philadelphia, King Of The Hill, My Name Is Earl, The Simpsons, South Park to name a few

Re: Uncommon Opinions
BBT and Young Sheldon has the same people working on the show, but Young Sheldon has no laugh track or audience.
I do find BBT is funnier, with punch lines set up and moments specifically made for the laughing, whereas Young Sheldon has funny moments which feel more "natural".
A random moment from BBT which made me hate how often they used laugh tracks was the episode where someone broke into their apartment. The next night Sheldon was in his room and thought he heard a noise. So he went to his door and pressed his ear against it to hear the noise better. Out of nowhere you hear the laugh track start going. Like how/why is that moment funny?
I think I prefer the live audience sound. When I go back and forth between Boy/Girl Meets World and hear the difference, there is definitely something missing in GMW when it comes to the laughter. It's the natural and sometimes spontaneous laughter effect that came from a live studio audience in Boy Meets World that made everything all the merrier.
And I think Fresh Prince had live audience reactions too. I remember even hearing someone in the crowd be like "YEAH!" when one of the aunts was talking about wanting a husband like Denzel Washington. I think that same episode I even heard a baby cry in the crowd for a brief second.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
cheese gets put on too many things; like bacon, it's overused. fine on hamburgers & pizza but on chilidogs & french fries is going too far.
I used to be big on pizza in my younger days but now that I'm older & wiser (okay, older) I realise chicken is God's most perfect creature creation.
this where you totally lose me:
lasagna, spaghetti, macaroni&cheese (light on the cheese please), just any pasta in general FTWOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

I don't like eating something with any form of cold or unmelted cheese (or cheese that doesn't "melt" within your meal, like Parmesan cheese will).
I don't know if this is uncommon or not; I'm just extending the above conversation.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

re: Laugh tracks
The best usage of laugh tracks is easily in shows like The Flintstones and Scooby Doo.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
WNBA should lower the rims to 9'
It would increase entertainment value to see some women play above the rim. That is currently non-existent in the WNBA.
To say it's sexist completely ignores the fact they already have changed the men's game to use a smaller basketball to accommodate their game. They use smaller balls, same size hoops.
If we saw a WNBA posterize another WNBA player, how on earth would that not be more entertaining and bring excitement to the sport?
Just think of Griner backing down a smaller defender and hitting a juke and drop step then throwing down with 2 hands in someone's face.
Just blows my mind this change is viewed as some type of insult to women.
Just go look at volleyball: they have different net heights.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

The big issue would be the costs for all the adjustable hoops that would be needed at the the lower levels.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I don't know if this matters or not, but they'd be growing up playing with them at ten feet, only for it to lower from there. Changing the rim height likely changes the way that players have to shoot.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
that's interesting, the NBA isn't about post play and dunks anymore, so instead of watching WNBA players clank a bunch of threes why not lower the rim and let old school basketball honks enjoy dunks and post play on a professional level againWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
You adjust.
Not only the professional women, but have you guys ever watched a middle school or high school game? If there's one girl on the court who can actually shoot with any type of talent, they 100% stand out. The scores are extremely low, and having the rims at 9' likely means they are more able to get the ball to the hoop.
I just think what they are doing now is a complete failure. This is coming from a guy who has a mother who played at Maryland and she's a 6-2 beast. At least she was. She even went on to play in the WBL around 1980. Yes there was a professional league prior to the WNBA. It lasted like 2 years, I have her Dallas Diamonds warm up jacket on my wall. She agrees. The famous Della player agrees.
I think their current product lacks excitement. As much as basketball has changed to a 3-point shooting fest...they still play above the rims several times a game.
When I was watching Bron in CLT a couple years back he had a few dunks that literally took the breath out of the entire arena.
They really need to stop comparing themselves to the NBA, to the NBA players, and their salaries. It's an apples and oranges comparison.
I would absolutely watch some WNBA games if they played above the rim.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives
