I guess I can see that point of view in college football. But I don't agree.

I don't understand enjoying college sports more than professional unless you are watching the team of the school you attended. Half of the schedule is filled with cupcakes who can't compete off the bat. I jump on ESPN.com and see the scorebar filled with: 70-3, 65-13, 55-0, 80-35. zzzzzzzzzzzz. Even the national championship game this years was a laughing stock. Give me the parity of the pros any day.

I can go on and on

Like...what? Are you being serious right now? Out of all the pro vs. college arguments, that's probably the worst to make for pros save the atmosphere and pageantry.

You're making his point by citing upsets. They're so rare that they're causes for major celebration.

Wasn't there one weekend 4 of the Top 5 lost?

The Jags beat the Pats and no one really cares that much other then the fans it effects, some unranked team knocks off a Top 5 team and it seems to create a little more buzz especially in CFB imo.

Yea. With college football I can see taking the biggest regular season games over the biggest NFL regular season games. Like #1 facing #3 later in the year is more must watch than any regular season game in the NFL. But that's only a few games a year at most. To me the vast majority of college football games are completely pointless. They can still be enjoyable, good to have on the background so you can then start paying attention if it gets interesting. But I wouldn't want to spend the day watching games like I like to do for NFL.

Lol the NBA is the worst example to use of pro sports parity. Yeah sure maybe in the regular season on individual games but there are so many and even then the good teams are generally always going to have good records, etc.

True, but consider it like this, college has a plethora of teams compared to the NBA or NFL. When an NBA team loses it may not matter that much because for one they play more games and two they are losing to a team that isn't significantly worse than them. So if the Wizards beat the Heat its not that big of a deal because you can still consider the Wizards better than say a NBDL team. Then take an upset like Arkansas beating #2 Florida a while ago, that's a big deal because Arkansas isn't known to be a very good basketball school so its like the Toros beating the Thunder.

Dude, at least there are upsets in college sports. The last real game I can recall that can be called an upset in the NFL would be the Seahawks/Saints game, and the only reason people gave a **** was because it was the playoffs. If it wasn't, then it's be just like that Pats/Jags game Chris mentioned earlier.

Because there are much more meaningless games in the NBA.

So you're saying that there's more parity in the NBA than there is in the NCAA?

Well, yeah, less outcomes are deemed "upsets" when there's more parity.

Agreed on the second paragraph as well, but parity also plays a role in that.

exactly, id rather have the majority of games be close and exciting, than wait for 1 or 2 games a year that happen to be memorable and have 75% be blowouts.
