Re: Uncommon Opinions
I don't think anyone is "stupid" for not changing their own oil or fixing their own computer. That's pretty ridiculous.
It's different with everyone. Me personally, I used to change my own oil, did my own break pads, rotated tires. Now I have a family, tons of stuff to do all the time so I get my oil changed at a local service shop. Does that make me stupid?
I'm just trying to say that doing minor work and maintenance on vehicles is really pretty simple and taking them to shops is a waste of money.
Also I suppose I was looking at this from my point of view, a person who has a garage full of almost any tool imaginable. Also I grew up working on trucks, cars, dirt bikes, fourwheelers, snow mobiles, etc. pretty much anything with a motor. I suppose if you don't have proper tools or any experience then it may be different.
So my apologies first off for calling multiple people here stupid when that isn't really the word I wanted to use. And also I apologize for assuming mostly everyone out there had at least some experience with basic car maintenance.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
It really just boils down to what you were exposed to as a child growing up. Some grew up working on cars with their dad, others grew up hunting and fishing, others grew up remodeling houses or doing masonry work. Others grew up with no dad and basically were never taught about a lot of things. Then you have those who have money to burn so it really isn't an issue.
At the end of the day everybody's view is skewed when it is comes to certain things, just depends on what you were exposed to in life. Some times we just take things for granted and think everybody had the same experiences as us.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I miss NBA Live.
I prefer 2k basketball games for the gameplay, but I liked having NBA Live there as a different representation for the sport in a video game.
They were two totally different games and if I felt like just playing the game and not having to be too technical, I could pop in Live instad of 2k.Comment

He also was heavily into computers so that's how I got into it as well...
We all just learn different skills. If I had a shop available to me for free I'd probably learn more car repair stuff...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I really felt like Live 10 had the foundation to be great. A couple fixes here and there would have made it a real competitor. Not sure why they felt they had to reinvent it.Originally posted by J. Re: Uncommon Opinions
I've had a part in all the maintenance on my car except... changing the oil. My dad has always done it for me and my best friend did it for me last winter. Someone has always just said "Yea, I'll take care of that." But I've changed the spark plugs, helped flush the radiator, changed the differential oil, changed the transmission fluid, replaced the shocks and struts, and will be replacing the pads and rotors next month. I'm pretty sure I'd know what to do the day I finally have to do it. Just never actually done it.Comment
