        Library pronounced "li-berry"

        Nuclear pronounced "nu-cue-ler"

Some that I'm guilty of myself is Forest as "forrst", Dessert as "dizzert" or hurricane as "hurr-cane".

I remember looking this up not too long ago and I realized I was destroying it.

I was saying something like "Wor-SHES-tuh-shy-er"

If I remember correctly, you're supposed to say something like "WOO-stuh-sher"

Something else I just thought of. My father-in-law is a HUGE Packers fan and he says "far" for "Favre" (as in, Brett). He swears that the "v" is silent.

A few years ago I looked up the history of the last name Favre and (if I remember correctly) it's actually the "r" that should be silent, if anything. As in, "Fauve".

I think the reason it cracks me up so much is that he's so emphatic that he uncovered some secret, like he's the one that knows how to say Favre and everyone else is clueless. Not only does he get it wrong (from what I gathered), but he's actually flipping the two letters that should be audible/silent.

One I'm surprised I haven't seen (though may have overlooked) and I'm sure many here are guilty of is "Choosday" instead of "Tuesday".

Everytime I here it I ask that person "Where's the Ch?"

I blame Dr. Seuss for "roast beast".
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

This thread reminds me of the video series of a guy deliberately pronouncing NBA players' names incorrectly:

Making a "ch" sound between a word that ends with a "T" sound and another word that begins with a "Y" sound is common.
