Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
Some of you cats must be using a gas grill.
I prefer to use charcoal, but it gets expensive fast. I miss not knowing when HD has their charcoal on sale. You can get 40lbs of charcoal for 7$.
I'm just not as good with a gas grill. I can get the job done, but its def. Not my preferred method.Comment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
They usually have the sale every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
Sometimes the first day of Spring too.
They might still have it this week.

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
You just missed it. Memorial Day sale 40lbs for $10.
I bought 80lbs total. Funny cause I asked the guy if there was a limit, and he goes, did you want a skid? I had to think about it for a second..
I think HD normally has a sale around the summer holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Father's Day, etc)
Surprisingly though, my HD never sells out of the charcoal when they go on sale like this.
Edit..
Woah, Curahee, we almost posted the same exact thing. lolComment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
I bought almost $100 worth for my dad a few years ago. There's still plenty up at the lake house.
edit: They put close to a dozen pallets of it in the ovehead each year. I used to get called from my dept. To get it down with the reach truck.Last edited by AUChase; 05-29-2013, 12:27 PM.Comment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
Here is some beef spare ribs that I cooked up on Memorial Day. This was just the samplers pack for me. The rest was cooked later for the family.

Over time I'm learning how to dial the grill in for various items. I'm getting really good at keeping chicken breasts juicy but still cooking them all the way through.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Prepping chicken for the grill.
4 yr old niece looks at me and says, "what's that?"
me: that's chicken I'm cooking
niece: oh. Where that chicken live ?
just the way she said it was hilarious. Her parents raise some chickens for eggs and such.Comment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
One of these days though.
I need to clean out my Charbroil gas grill though...getting a little grimy inside. Food doesn't touch there, but probably impacts the heating and whatnot a bit.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I keep threatening to get a cheap charcoal grill to mess around with, but then I'd want the charcoal chimney starter and things get expensive fast lol.

That stuff was very grimy, also scrapped the residue inside the grill where it was peeling.Comment
