How does it compare to doing meat in an actual smoker? I just looked on Amazon. 15 bucks for that thing is much better than buying a whole smoker, lol.Comment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
Doesn't compare to a real smoker at all, it's for smokey flavor in grilled foods. You can smoke in anything, just need indirect, low flame. If you can keep the inside temperature where you want it, you can smoke in it. A grill fire is too hot for wood, they will burn and burning wood doesn't taste good, you need a slow smolder, which is what the cast iron box provides.Comment

Interesting. Might be a good substitute for not living in Kansas City, I think.Comment

4th of July sales. God how tempting.
Planning on doing chicken bacon-ranch quesadillas tonight or tomorrow. Definitely gonna be doing some steak this weekend.

Made a special late night dinner for the wife and I.
Penne Pasta with a Vodka Cream Sauce topped with grilled Shrimp, Peppers, Mushrooms and Eggplant and finished off with a Chocolate Chip Fudge Cake for dessert.
