Man I went to bed not long after looking in this thread last night. My dreams were weird and a bit frightening haha.
I wasn't gonna share this one but it's kinda funny.
So we moved outta my last house (not the one I mentioned earlier) about 8 years ago. A very good friend of mine lives next door. So one day, my mom gets a message from the office at her school; it's the woman who now lives in the house, and she wants my mom to call her because she believes there are spirits in the house. My mom's like, ok wth, how'd she know who I am and find where I work, this is strange, I'm not callin.
So a couple days later my mom comes home, there's now a note on our door from this woman saying please call. So it's like well **** she knows where we live, might as well call.
So my mom gets a hold of this woman, and the woman asks if we ever had trouble with bad spirits (no?) and claims that the house was built on an old Indian burial ground (I have no idea why she thinks this or whether it's true) and that she believes the spirits are mad at her.
So I talk to my buddy, and he says the woman had his step mom come over to help spread holy water, and that she would put eggs in the corners of the yard and other weird ****, and even got a hotel at one point because she was scared to live there.
Shoulda called ghostbusters.

Re: Do we have ghosts?
A few years ago, I went through a minor obsession with the show Ghost Hunters. They had some really good episodes early in the series' history, where they investigated some legitimately creepy *** places, and got what I consider some legit and creepy *** results and evidence. Only further supported my belief in those things. I swear the school I coach basketball at (and attended when I was in school) is haunted; specifically the gym. Any time I'm in there alone, at night, I get the creepiest feelings.
We actually had a janitor die in there when I was in the 6th or 7th grade (so, around 2001 or 2002), and two years ago, the school had a funeral for another employee who passed away, in the gym; open casket. When my sister was still in high school there, I would take her in the gym late in the afternoon/early in the evening, and work on her game with her, and we would get some really creepy feelings while in there. So much so, that we considered having a "Ghost Hunt" out there one night. My dad even came out there one time, and he had to leave; he said he just couldn't shake this weird feeling he had out there.
I'm a firm believer in ghosts/hauntings/etc. I've never seen or heard anything in person, but I just have a feeling that they exist.
As far as cats go - I grew up with my family owning several cats, and they routinely would just walk into a room, stare very suspiciously at nothing, and flee the room. I think cats have a sense of things like that, and I think kids do, as well.Last edited by st0rmb11; 07-07-2013, 02:19 PM.

Re: Do we have ghosts?
Dookie, My parents tell a story very similar to your that happened with my sister. I will preface this by saying that my parents are very reasonable people and this is the only ghost story they have ever told me.
This is before my memory started working as I was a little baby and I dont even remember the house it happened in as they moved out of it when I was still very small. They said that my sister had a imaginary friend when she was about 2 or 3, His name was Fred and she would essentially run around the house with him. Well when they started asking a few more questions it got real, She said he was old, he wore glasses, and he kind of looked like my father.
Fred was my grandfather who died about 3 years before she was born, he wore glasses and he looked like my father. She knew details about him that went beyond explanation. It was comforting to my parents though, my Grandfather was a pretty awesome dude.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

I only thing I could think of as far as the man goes was my grandfather as well. He passed a few months before my son turned 1. He saw him all the time though. Maybe it's him.Dookie, My parents tell a story very similar to your that happened with my sister. If I ever witness Branson saying something like that or talking to someone I will ask questions to see what could be going on.Comment

Apparently some coast guard boats are haunted. It's interesting hearing some of the stories. My boat is 45 years old so it's on the young side so some of these boats have quite a bit of history to them.MLB: Texas Rangers
