 Re: Do we have ghosts?

Believe it or not, I felt a ghost/spirit touch me when I was younger. When I was about 13-14 years old, my grandma passed away. Her funeral was in the Philippines so my entire family and I flew down to say our goodbyes. I was very close with my grandma and I was pretty devastated. On the last night of her wake, I was sleeping in a room with a few of my cousins. Lights were out for about 30 minutes, when I felt somebody touching my cheek. I thought it was my brother playing a joke on me so I told him to knock it off. My brother was sleeping the entire time and even yelled at me to shut up and go back to sleep.

So I tried to, when I felt it again. This time, I didn't say anything. But I tried to feel my face to see if it was a bug or a hand or something. I didn't feel anything on my face. I eventually fell back asleep and the next morning I told my dad about it. He said that it was my grandma saying goodbye to me. That's when I remembered my grandma would always love to caress my cheek when she saw me. Instead of pinching my cheeks like most grandparents do, she would just rub the back of her hand on my cheeks. Scary but very sweet to know that it was just my grandma saying goodbye.

After that, I never doubted ghosts. I don't like to watch those ghost hunting shows on TV as I feel they embellish too much on the whole evil spirits and they're pissed and out to get you. I also don't like how most of them are faked.

Anyways, my mom would always tell me that babies and young kids can see ghosts. She told me that when babies are looking up in the air, giggling and playing by themselves, normally it's because a spirit is playing with them. My mom told me that they can see spirits because of their innocence. I also heard that dogs and cats and animals in general can see spirits but I've been told that spirits are likely to take shape in animal form. But that's another story to share.

It's funny because when I read your story, I had to stop for a second and ask myself if I wanted to keep reading. Having my little girl just turn 14 months 2 weeks ago, I don't ever want to be in the same position as you, because that would just freak me out. Keep us updated on how its going and if your kid still say stuff about the man.Comment

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

I'm gonna be real pissed if I have trouble sleeping tonight. I love all kinds of paranormal stuff, even if it means me staying up a little later. I used to watch Unsolved Mysteries when I was little just to see the ghost stories.

My mom told me she had an encounter with a ghost who she told me was my uncle that passed months before, but I don't think I've ever had experience with any. I want to see a ghost,m just not where I live. As Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor have explained, upon seeing the ghost, the next thing I would see is my keys going into my ignition.

Someone talked about cats and the sixth sense earlier. I always thought animals and kids could somehow saw things. Kids especially since they're too young to understand reality and won't quickly dismiss things like we would. Animals? IDK how much you could trust animals, they're pretty ****ed up in the head sometimes.

Dookie, either your son was talking about a ghost or he's outing the hiding spot of the man that comes over when you're at work. Either way, I think a move is in order.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

Little backstory: Several people at my house watching Silva/Wiedman (what a joke, right).

Everyone leave around 2am and I'm sitting on my deck, drunk, reading OS on my phone. I read through this thread and then the following happened:

The pool pump is on a timer (completely forgot) and it kicks itself off. Then the A/C for the house kicks off. At that point, I started hearing noises out of the ordinary. Then my cat peaks his head up from where he was napping in a chair near me. Suddenly he just freaks the **** out and I jump out of my chair and then I realize it was just another cat trying to start a fight.

That's why I think a lot of it is in our head. I wouldn't have thought anything about what was going on if I wasn't drunk and had not read this thread. I was about to head in the house for a rifle or pistol.. lol.

I sat back down a minute and then said **** it I'm going inside.Last edited by AUChase; 07-08-2013, 12:16 PM.Comment

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

As far as ghosts, I have three stories and they all involve one house and one single type of event. I've told this story before on OS for one of these threads like this, but here it is again.

When I was around 13 or 14 we moved to a new house. The house was built in the 60s and nothing to out of the ordinary about it.

For several years little bitty odd things would happen that made me question myself if I did something differently, like putting mail down in one location then it would be in another and just little mind game type things that drove me crazy, like "I know I didn't put it there! Did I?"

Well fast forward couple years, me and my sister were home while my parents were out working. It was pouring raining, thunder and lighting its *** off. Plus its dark and just a horrible weather night.

Out of no where someone bangs really loud on the front bay window, so I jump up and run to the window to find out what the hell is going on and who is doing this. Where I was sitting was like 12 feet away or so from the window so I made it there in seconds. Well not but 5 seconds or so me getting to the window and looking out, the window in the back yard which is in the same living room area gets banged on loud. Now first it would of been darn near impossible for 1 person to run around the house, jump the fence, and make it to the window in this amount of time. So I holler for my sister to look out that window, I'm going to watch this way.

She runs over and does not see anything either. Then BOOOM BOOOOM from underneath the car port. If you remember those metal screen doors that have the metal bottoms, they sound like a metal bass drum when hit. Well it sounded like someone kicked the crap out of it.

So at this point, I ran and grabbed my shotgun, loaded 3 shells and bust out the front door pissed as all hell. I run around the yard and all around, no one anywhere to be seen.

So I walk to my buddies house across the street and tell him the story, so he jumps up and says lets go. We come back over to my house and we going over what happened, and he says "you said they hit this right and pointed to the metal door bottom"....."Yea", "Well why is there no wet foot prints anywhere under here". Remember I said it was pouring out and I came through a different door. At that point I was stumped and didn't know what to make of it.

Well fast forward a year or so later and I move out the house. My mom tells me later one day we are talking on phone. "Something strange happened to me the other day. I was dozing off in the recliner and out of no where, Ben (our old english mastiff) jumps up going ape **** running to the front door. Just as I look over, the door is closing as if someone was trying to come in."

So she said he ran and checked it out and didn't see anyone. Several months later she tells me the same thing happened again. So I told her, something don't seem right, I'm not a major believer in these things, but something is "off".

Now here is what broke the straw. Several months are so after her second incident, her and my step dad went to bed. He is a complete atheists in almost every regard, he does not believe in anything period super natural, everything has a explanation basically. Well he wakes up in the middle of the night and finds the living room window and all the doors in the house open, the french doors, the car port door, the front door, all open. So he goes and wakes up my mom and is freaking out what the hell is going on.

Now long story short, nothing was ever seen, nothing was ever explained, and they moved out the house several months later. They have yet to have any issues in their current house. I'm not saying, I believe in ghosts, all I'm doing is sharing what happened to us. Only thing I can say for certain, it didn't "feel" normal.Last edited by Phobia; 07-08-2013, 02:54 PM.Comment

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

I find it Ironic that all ghost stories are like, "I was home alone in a thunderstorm" It was the middle of the night.... I went to my basement after the power went out.

never like me and my family were having dinner when this ghost pulled up a chair.Comment

That was the only occasion the others were just normal days. I can't explain why it happened that way, just admit that is how it did.Comment

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

We get it, you don't believe in ghosts.

You don't have to keep reiterating your opinion.

You sound like those guys talking about UFO's.

 Re: Do we have ghosts?

I want to believe in ghosts, but you are right...almost any ghost story you hear occurs when there are special circumstances that will skew the persons perception. People who suddenly "awoke" from a deep sleep, low light situations, creepy places where you are more inclined to fool yourself into thinking you saw something, etc...

Never heard of someone grilling outside in the middle of the afternoon and a ghost meandered through the yard.

The only weird thing I have ever witnessed was when my grandparents inherited the TV of my great grandpa after he passed away. The TV would randomly turn itself on and off. While, it would be a cool story to say it was the ghost of my great grandpa watching TV...in all likelihood it was an electrical problem with a TV that was on it's last leg. It was still pretty creepy since I was just a young kid...Comment
