Do you have any skills? Nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills...girls want boyfriends who have great skills.

If it feels intimidating at first and scares you then you are doing the right things.

My point is this message board or anything else on the Internet won't help you get a girl friend. You have to learn through falling down and trying again on your own!

I have not problem with it because along with others, THIS is also the type of advice some people need. Hashing things out with friends or getting tips and examples from more experienced people is how a lot of people gain confidence or know how in doing a lot of things. I don't think this has to be different. For some it's like, "What are you even talking about, just talk to her and let the magic work." That same person replying may be in the android thread asking how to work the play store... or in the beer thread saying they've been drinking for 20 years and just tried their first IPA and want to know what they should've expected.

I know those things aren't on the same level, I'm just saying people are different. I agree with your point when it comes to some ways advice could be used. But I don't think there's ever anything wrong with asking questions. Too many people in this world are afraid to ask for fear of looking stupid, like a loser, like a racist, like a perv, whatever. No harm in asking... more harm in not knowing and faking it.

            This.

Social media and the internet makes everything more accessible for everyone, I don't see the problem of utilizing it in ways to better yourself and to ask questions. Some of the comments in this thread make it seem like everyone else automatically knew what to do when it came to girls when they were 14 or 15, and I'm 100% sure that's not the case. I sure as hell had no idea what I was doing at that age and I wish I had a group of people with experience to help me out.

I don't see why it's so hard to give a young person on here with questions, that most of you guys are familiar with, answers in a non-condescending way. Most of the advice in this thread is pretty sound, but insulting him for asking is pretty low.

That being said... Academics and extracurricular activities are waaaaay more important than a high school girlfriend. It's not gonna matter who you dated in high school unless you marry them, which is highly unlikely. So don't dwell on the fact that you don't have a girlfriend, and start focusing on your grades so you get into that good college and end up with a well paying career. If you decide to ask a girl out and a relationship forms, that's awesome, but if it doesn't work out it's not the end of the world and you'll meet a ton more in college anyway.

Don't even worry about it, the best things in life happen naturally. A majority of the girls I have been with I have not severely chased for that long. I know it's different in HS, you're not just meeting random girls all the time but it's usually pretty obvious if something can work or not.

Just say hi, be friendly, make them laugh, find any common interests, etc. Don't play to lose, keep throwing bombs or else friend zone.

Hate to say it, but it's time to move on. Its very very unlikely that she'll move on from that dude while she's still in high school. They'll be on and off until they get separated by college (if ever).

Keep your grades up and go to decent sized college.
College girls >>> High school girls.

Another hint: Find a girl that going into medical or pharmacy school. Marry rich.

While you are wasting your time on this girl another one is single and hoping for you to notice her, open your eyes, work on your game (soccer/female) start working out now and you will be starting a thread asking how to get rid of them. Or how to juggle multiples, take care have fun stay safe.

Completely agree. I'm 21 and don't have/have never had a girlfriend. I'm not sweating it too badly. Some days it can seem like everyone around me is in relationships and I get kind of down, but I always take a step back and think "This is stupid" because, simply put, it'll happen when it happens. No need to press and worry about it, plus you've got plenty of time. You're only a sophomore in HS. You have a ton of time and there are, as they say, plenty of fish in the sea.

I get your point behind it and agree with you but I think some things can't be learned reading or watching a video over the Internet. We could all tell him how to handle the situation and what to do but that still won't give him the life lessons learn through ....well living life. In this case, walking up and talking to women revolve completely around self confidence and the only way to gain that is believing in yourself plus getting out there attempting what makes you nervous.

So I agree asking questions there is nothing wrong but in this case I think tough love is best route. Kind of like throwing someone in the deep end so they learn to swim or take of the training wheels and let a couple bruises happen. He needs to just bite the bullet and do things that scares him, only then will he learn those fears or not as scary as what he has fabricated in his head.

Honestly, you shouldn't even start thinking about having a girlfriend until your sophomore year of college. Just enjoy life right now.

I mean, if it's burning at you that bad, just ask her out. She'll probably reject you given what we know, but then that bridge is burned and you can be content again.
