Directv offered my $200 visa gift card, NFL Sunday ticket and my bill would be $40 (normally $100) for 1 year.

Got the same when I cancelled, plus an additional sports package so 'd get the Hornets games. I went back and forth with them over the phone but they wouldn't make it worth staying, we cancelled and scheduled TWC to come install. A couple days before TWC was to come DTV called during dinner and made the offer and we went with it.

Call and ask to speak to the retention department. Usually they are good about offering $20 off here, or cutting $15 of there for 6-12 months. I usually get multiple deals that bring my bill down quite a bit, for some reason this time, they didn't want to budge. I wasn't under a 2 year contract either. You would have thought they would have offered me something good to get me to resign a 2 year deal. Kind of disapointed. I didn't really want to switch.

That's basically something that's expected. Apparently people should be calling every several months and "complaining" and threatening to quit and all and then they have certain retention packages lined up for people like that.

They claim it'll be a 2-3 year deal,but it'll only last several months(before they raise the price back up from the discounted price they gave you) which leads to you having to repeat the process all over again.

Annoying to have to do every several months,but obviously worth it in the end if it saves you money on cable/internet and stuff.

Sounds EXACTLY like TWC...they'll say they have cut my bill down but do something funky to try to screw me over. I wanted a deal shown on TV a few momths back so I could upgrade my internet but they wouldn't do it initially; they eventually caved but sneakily put a Internet bandwidth cap of 30 GBs on my plan so it hiked my bill up enormously.

Go thru this junk every 6 months.

Finalized plans for a November trip to San Francisco. Will be the first time I'll go there not with family or work. Can't wait. Going with a long-time friend who is a Niners fan, so we'll be going to their game against the Falcons. Not all that thrilled with what the tickets are going to cost for that game, which I don't care about. But he is using a voucher for a free ticket, which means we'll only have to pay like $175 a piece for the round trip tickets. Beggars can't be choosers.

Bone Marrow Donor update....

Couple months ago I was selected to be a donor and went through further blood testing. I was determined to be a suitable match for the patient. Found out due to some circumstances, the patient wasn't ready for the procedure yet. However, it could change anytime so they want me to be prepared to be called upon at anytime. They said it was only a matter of time so I am still excited to help save a life.

So my local video game store got broken into again, 2nd time in about 6 months. Bright side is they are the #1 story on reddit right now. The idiots who broke into the store also left fingerprints and blood samples for the police so I suspect this crime will be resolved sooner rather than later.

Anyone got tips on ways to shrink a tshirt? Reading stuff on other sites provide diff ways,but wanna see if anyone here has tried a specific way and had it work out? So far i just tried washing it on the hot/cold setting and then drying on high heat.

Throw it in your dryer that should do it.

Seriously just watch some CSI or something like that and there is a lesser chance that you can get away with this...
