Sorry to disrupt any conversations here... Is there a way to change my username? I'd like to make it the same as my Xbox Live name. Seems it would help when adding fellow Ps'ers and recognizing people when playing together. Thanks in advance

Anybody have some suggestions for a good and dependable modem? I'm switching to Time Warner here pretty soon and really don't want to pay the $8 or $9 a month to essentially rent a modem from them.

Seriously F TWC and their garbage Modem/Router. Before I tell you what I have, i will say that i have literally never had a problem with it in 2 years: Modem: Motorola Surfboard 400 series(SB6141), Router: Netgear N750. I bought them together for $200 but they have already paid for themselves.

Be prepared to get continually get hosed on price increases.

TWC always finds ways to add fees.

When booking hotels,is it possible to request a higher floor(like just asking for highest possible floor)?

Cause obviously when booking,you're just booking the room you want,not the floor. Been lucky all other times getting a fairly decent height with good views(and the fact that hotels were basically tallest thing in the area,so really the majority of floors had decent views),but next trip seems to have alot where the lower views are horrible since everything built up so high around it,so obviously I'd prefer a higher view,instead of a lower view where the view out the window is a restaurant next door.

You have to call the hotel and they can change it for you normally.

Can you also request a side of the hotel too? Like if you wanna be on a specific side cause better sightlines are there? Doubt those rooms wouldn't be taken yet,but you never know...

TWC is the only alternative to Joink (don't know if it's just an Indiana thing, never saw it anywhere else) in the apartment I'm in. Our complex has a deal with them and it's like nearly $50 a month for "3mbps" connection speed. If I'm lucky I'll pull in 1.5 or 2 during the school year (apartment is right next to campus and I'm a student as well). That's not even the worst part either.. They limit us to 4 devices per bedroom.

I'm already getting hosed, I'll gladly pay $35 and some eventual price increases for 15mbps and the ability to have all my stuff hooked up to the Internet lol.

California has a bridge toll system called FasTrak where you can basically drive right through the gates without needing to stop and pay, as long as you have the little magnetic device in your car that withdraws money from its balance.

Anyway, yesterday as I drove through the tollbooths, the little LED sign after I passed by said: "CALL FASTRAK." I'm assuming that meant I no longer have any money in my balance.

Having not known the number off the top of my head while driving, I made an attempt to call 1-800-FASTRAK hoping it was their number. Turns out it's a phone sex hotline.

EDIT: Apparently it has changed now. It must cycle through certain things daily. Needless to say, that wasn't the proper number for FasTrak.

So wait, you called a number and got a phone sex line then you recalled the same number again today knowing what it was?? I've never heard of phone numbers that could cycle daily (what was it this time) unless you misdialed without realizing it either the 1st or 2nd time.

No, I told my friend about it and they tried it and said it was different, so I called back to confirm. It's something else instead now.

Last night, it was a girl voice that said something like: "Welcome to the world's hottest hotline. Girls, if you want to speak with hot guys right now, press 1. Guys, to speak to hot girls right now, press 2." blah blah blah...

What was it this time? Dial 1-800-FASTRAK (1-800-327-8725). Something about winning a free cruise or something. Anyway, I couldn't have misdialed since I re-dialed from my sent calls log on my cell.

EDIT: Well shoot, now I'm trying to call it and it's saying "You have dialed a number that is unavailable from your calling area." I don't understand how 1-800 numbers work...

That's not normal for toll roads? All the ones I know of in Texas are pay by mail where they mail you a bill or you have a chip next to your review mirror and it charges the account and when it gets low it takes a set amount out of your debit or credit card.
