Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Bro, my family ordered a ridiculous amount of food from Sarpino's and dropped it off at my place.
After my golf round yesterday, it's a miracle I didn't inhale the glorious amounts of cheese pizza, spaghetti, cheese tortellini, hot wings and breadsticks.
I calmly heated up my roasted chicken and veggies.
As a result, since starting my work out and eating cleaner, I'm down from 208 to 203 lbs. Going to be under 200 for the first time in a while soon!Comment

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
What are good weight lifting exercises to do when you don't have a weight-bench, but have a bar and a set of dumbbells?
I finished up another round of Insanity and will start up another one in a couple days, but I'm wanting to start supplementing the workouts with additional exercising such as some weight lifting. I would love to get a punching bag and develop a workout for that, too, but I wouldn't know where to start.

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
This. Only gets worse if a) you up the frequency and intensity of your fitness regime and b) break break heavily from your routine diet in a moment of weakness. I swear I could never have been able to crush food in the past like I can now.Comment

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Starting another round of Insanity tonight. I hope to purchase a heavy boxing bag after tax season and develop an alternate routine to go with Insanity. Some weight training would be nice and I hope to get some hiking trails under my feet this year.
I feel like I've hit a plateau with Insanity and need some variances to see more improvements. I'm mostly maintaining, but I also know I need to change some bad habits.
Most of which comes down to basically over-eating at home when I'm by myself during the week. Its easy to plop myself down after a workout in front of the TV and eat supper, but I also tend to stretch my portions or just overeat in general when I do that. Plus, most of my extra snacking and eating occurs when I'm watching TV.
So, my hope is to set a hard and fast rule about actually sitting down at the dinner table and eating dinner every night and to keep myself from snacking while watching TV at night. We'll see how that goes. I'll probably end up with a stockpile of gum.

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Whoops, I'm a bit late. My goals are just to continue doing what I'm doing. Down from 255 to ~214 on a good day so far. Now really just looking to go from a little chubby to a more athletic frame, would bode pretty well for sports. But even then, 214 is a decent weight for my height, so my goals are really just to keep it up and stop snacking so damn much."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
I have been doing cardio kickboxing since July and I love it. Amazing workout. Better than a gym in my opinion.

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
My hip flexor is getting the best of me right now. I shot up to 209 lbs the other day which is 5 pounds heavier than I have ever been.
I have to turn this around as I am heading in the wrong direction. Stress has been kicking in big time which is only compounding it.Comment

Re: 2016 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Have you tried any of the more recent Insanity series? I liked Asylum. I did one of his T25 videos the other day (had Achilles surgery in August last year) and realized that even though I lifted while I was in a cast/boot that my wind is much worse and I probably bulked up too much.
I want something different not to outright replace Insanity but more as a supplement or switch-off. I would like something that is a good work, but also fun which is where the boxing is coming in. Plus, I've always wanted a legitimate punching bag.
