Does one need to eat differently to achieve one or the other goals?
Diet is the main thing. Start out by cutting out junk food if you tend to eat a lot of that. What does your diet look like now?

Can you move laterally or up and down? Cardio workouts from P90X, P90X3, etc etc could be the thing for you. Otherwise a bicycle machine can be a great workout, just get one where you can adjust how hard it is to peddle.

My diet is consisting of a lot of chicken, green beans, brown rice, pinto beans, bell pepper, carrots, and some fruits. I do pretty good during the week. Saturdays I slack a bit. I don't snack though, so that isn't a concern. I need to cut out that soda I have on the weekends and sweets aren't a problem either. I drink a protein shake after my workouts the muscle lean (I forget the name) but I am curious on what else I can eat after I workout?

I did T-25 a couple years ago and lost a decent amount of weight. It is a lot of non stop jumping around and it was pretty tough here with the thin error. I try to eat mostly paleo with slack on the weekends but I always end up off the rails eventually.

Some people will just drink chocolate milk. Depends on who you ask, but I subscribe to the 3.5-4 grams of carbs to 1 g of protein ratio. Adding fruit to your protein shake is what I would do. I drink a protein shake as a mid morning snack with almond milk, a banana, various frozen fruits, and frozen spinach.

I usually don't struggle to get enough protein daily though. With my shake after a workout I usually go over. Just not sure what else I should eat after a workout.

Actually, I probably need to get more protein, correct?

Bodyspace by Bodybuilding.com is probably one of the better apps out there for logging workouts.

Today marks one month of dieting.

April 17th: 261.2 lbs, 30.9% body fat, 46 inch waist
May 17th: 247.2 lbs, 29.6% body fat, 42.25 inch waist

Been working my *** off in the gym. Made it 29 out of the past 30 days, burn around 700-1100 calories per workout (lifting and cardio). Diet has been good. Eating egg whites and oats for breakfast, Chipotle for lunch everyday (bowl of rice, double steak, tiny bit of medium salsa, and guacamole) and turkey patty for dinner. Protein shakes after workout and sometimes another for snack. I need more veggies but I hate them, so...working on that, lol.

I use an app called lift log. It's extremely simple, but I like it better than some of the more complicated feature full ones I've used before.

Summer cut is going well. Started in mid January so I could do it slowly, and give myself some time to figure out my calorie needs. Had some missteps in March but besides that I've pretty cosistently lost .5-a pound a week.

Down 11.5 pounds. According to the bf tracker I have, which isn't necessarily that accurate, I'm down from 13.5% to 10.4%. I take progress pictures usually every week and its noticeable.

Not sure how much longer I want to keep going. One minute I look in the mirror and want to keep getting more ripped, the next I'm worried how small I am and want some size back lol.

It's very simple, but it works for me.

Ugh, I need to get my butt back to working out. I knew I had been gaining weight cause I could feel the pressure in my knee that was surgically repaired back in high school.

                            Stepped on the scale....205. Dammit.

My issue is I work 50+ hours a week. After I get off work, the last thing I want to do is work out after being on my feet all day. I could always work out before I go to work, but I'm already getting up at 330a just to go to work.

                            I know, excuses.

I miss my college days when I had time...and about 20 less pounds.

My summer cut is going fantastic. Started April 3rd at 212 lbs. I won't weigh in until this Saturday but if I had to guess, I would bet that I am down 20-25 lbs. I've add some muscle so we will see. Keep it up everyone!
