Oh **** no... I loved Syphon Filter. I can't believe it hasn't come back either. The name alone would generate excitement. What may be strange is I never played Metal Gear Solid.

Fun fact: Days Gone is made by the same studio that made all the Syphon Filter games.

Another classic right there.

I remember the first time I played it and it asked me switch discs. No problem, right?

Except my dumb *** didn’t have one[emoji2365]. Keep it mind this was my first double disc experience on PS1 so my young *** is thinking it would save where I was at and carry over like an idiot.

What made this worse was the fact that it was an unexpected snow day so I was off school(A big deal when you live in a house where your folks won’t let you play games during the week and the system in on the main TV in the living room where everyone watches and it’s never free smh)and this took me all day to get to that point.

I remember the 1st time I fought Psycho Mantis and I got so frustrated that I decided to a local game store to see if they had the MGS guide. The guy said no and asked me what I was having trouble with and I told him Psycho Mantis. He gives me a bewildered look and says "Just switch the controller to the 2nd port."

I played MGS1 when I was 11 I believe, a friend bought it for me.

I got to the scene where Grey Fox massacred all the soldiers and blood was on the hallway. It was scary but also intriguing as the story of the game was interesting, way more than any other game I played. My mom came home from work and saw that scene and freaked out. She took the game, hid it and gave me a lecture how bad that stuff is.

Took me 2 weeks to find it hid in my parents closet shelf so I could finish it without their knowledge.

Side note: my sister blackmailed me into doing her chores for a month but it was worth it.

Madden 99 & Metal Gear Solid sold me on the PlayStation. until that point I had quit playing video games for 10 years. that 10 year period was a low point for me, during my hardcore heavy drinking days. The PlayStation literally saved my life.

Having "99" in the name made me flashback to Gameday 99 and the time when we had a ridiculous amount of sports options.

The funny/sad thing about these old games is that when people wanted certain features brought back, they always got the "not enough space in game" reasoning. I'm talking 10-15 years ago.

Surely theres enough space on games now to have the features people have wanted?

NHL 99 was a beast and a blast...I put so many hours into that game.

NBA Live 99 had the best soundtrack ever and had Rodman's hair change color which I thought was so cool.

Probably 10 years ago or so, I picked up NCAA Gamebreaker 2001 by 989 Sports.

And uh...thank goodness for EA Sports.
