Re: Off-Topic
he don't know the half of it. I was hit square in the face last night with an almost shorter version of a Roman Candle but you dont hold it, you set it on the ground. lucky it hit me before it actually exploded. I have a swollen upper and lower lip and cut on my nose. I was about 40 feet away from my son (who is 23) setting up a Stressed Out 8 shot 200 gram cake in the street (I live in a cul-de-sac). it shot the first two fine. but the second shot kicked it over and the third shot came straight at me. if I had been standing straight up it would have only hit me in the leg but I was in my front yard kneeling to shoot bottle rockets from a bottle. I was spitting blood for 10 minutes but I was really lucky it hadn't had time to really explode, it could have blinded me or from the sound probably caused me to lose my hearing. it bounced off my face and went about another 20 feet before it did it's thing. a one-in-a-million shot. the force of the impact was really similar to a punch or hit in the mouth from a thrown baseball. I was really very fortunate it wasn't more serious. my son felt worse about then I did. at least I didn't need an amputation like JPP lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Off-Topic
I've been holding on to some artillery canisters for a while because I've been out of town or it's been raining every NYE and 4th the past few years.
My dad bought some fireworks so I took them over so we could combine. I used a cement block to sit over the tubes so they can't fall. Well.. turns out the first one I shot had an extra long fuse and the paper was wrong when it said "this side up." It didn't get out of the tube and it completely destroyed the tube, and destroyed the cement block sending pieces flying all across the yard. A piece hit the back of my dad's leg. He's fine, but you know it could have been worse.
I've had them fall over on the boat dock, explode sooner than they should in the air, etc.. never had that happen. I even pulled it out of the tube 3 times to read out loud "this side up" and make sure it was right.
Fireworks are fun, but dangerous and the CPSC does a **** job of regulating them. I'm not saying make them illegal, but no one is inspecting the quality either lol. I actually didn't even know you're not supposed to hold roman candles in your hand. My entire life that's what we did with them and also always lit bottle rockets to throw them from my hand too right as they were going off, but I knew as a kid that you shouldn't do that haha.Last edited by AUChase; 07-06-2020, 01:44 PM.Comment

Signs of normal life in Seattle today..
Gridlock on a major interstate as some bozo wandered onto the freeway and was struck by a semi.
4 hour closure. Kinda like the good old days around here...
Now back to your new normal programming. You want free speech?
Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Is this the YouTube algorithm at work?
A long time ago I uploaded the final performance in Pitch Perfect on YouTube so I could link it for my sister (though since of course it's been uploaded by everyone else). It gained some slight traction in the seven or so years it's been uploaded, maybe like 25k views. It was whatever anyway, I didn't really care.
However, in the past week I have been getting comments on the video and almost 200 new subscribers, many female (which isn't normally my target demographic on my channel), and I look today and it has about 130k views.
Very strange, and probably not something I could generate money from because it's not my original content, but I thought I'd ask how YouTube has prompted this in a way?
It certainly hasn't helped for my Super Mega Baseball gameplay videos or my acoustic guitar cover uploads, haha.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Almost certainly an algorithm tweak that somehow SEO'd your video to the top of searches. If you could figure it out, you'll have cracked a (small) part of the code for google SEO.Comment
