Yeah. I wonder if it’s close to how you need months to fully bounce back from mono. That **** knocked me out for weeks, then once a month for the next 6 I was legitimately sick. That thing did a number on me.
I think there isn’t much discussion around the lingering effects because it’s still being figured out and I haven’t heard from any notable people about them. Did see Alyssa Milano got hit hard and is experiencing crazy longer term symptoms like hair loss.
Yeah I had mono too, back in college. By far the most tired I had ever felt. I barely had the energy to eat and I love food. Think I lost 20lbs in a 6 weeks and I was only 175 to start with. It took me nearly 6 months to feel “normal” again.

Well, total deaths is misleading when comparing deaths by countries. Deaths by 100,000 people the U.S. is 4th:

How does mortality differ across countries? Examining the number of deaths per confirmed case and per 100,000 population. A global comparison.
Which is nothing to be proud either.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Nothing wrong with your post or take on it. My problem with country's post is the part that I bolded where he literally accused Doc of not thinking those lives were significant. There was no need for that, and it's something I've seen people constantly do, on OS and around the internet, and even in person. It's silly that people constantly try and act morally superior when someone else tries to talk about numbers or has a differing opinion than them.I’m not countryboy, but I replied to Doc’s post so I’ll say this - I didn’t for one second think he didn’t see them as people or as insignificant (though him singling out that it was four seems to indicate he thinks that number isn’t high enough to be worthy of reporting?)
I saw his post for what it was, media criticism to deflect from criticizing local and federal officials who actually have the power to effect how we put resources toward fighting this and trying to get things back on track.
There’s absolutely a discussion that could be had about how this is covered because it ain’t perfect. But solely criticizing the media and not any of the actual policies and elected officials involved in reacting to this? That’s just lazy bull****, man.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I'd be interested in seeing how each country breaks down by age.
I also notice China is missing from that list. I'm sure they're not lying about their numbers at all.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I knew that graph looked funny, it seems Johns Hopkins agglomerates all EU members as one country. They provide the individual data in a table. This is something that should be noted in their website, bad job by them:

And for all you know, it could have been a complete misunderstanding between two different posters.Nothing wrong with your post or take on it. You have no idea what Doc was thinking when he typed out that post and you have some idea how CB interpreted the post.
Miscommunication between people we don't know on the internet? Is this something new?
From my POV, there wasn't a need to pounce in to give your moral superiority opinion when it could have been was a simple misunderstanding between two people and perhaps they work it out on their own?
Sometimes, there can be too many cooks stirring the pot in the same kitchen, don't you agree?
Now, back on topic, three days in a row with less than 50,000 new cases. Let's see if that can continue and flatten those numbers on a downward trend.Last edited by roadman; 08-12-2020, 03:01 PM.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
FC Dallas soccer game will be the first major league sports event played in front of a crowd since pandemic
Despite the state recently experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases, Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, will play host Wednesday to the first Major League Soccer game of the season with fans in attendance.
FC Dallas will be facing off against Nashville SC at 7:30 p.m. in the opener of two back-to-back matchups.
Both teams were forced to withdraw from the recent MLS is Back tournament due to Covid-19 outbreaks among staff and players.
MLS is the first major sports league to host a game in front of fans since the coronavirus pandemic forced leagues to suspend or delay their respective seasons in March.
The NBA, NHL and MLB have resumed or begun their seasons, but there have been no fans in attendance.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order on June 3 that permitted sports venues to expand capacity at open-air stadiums from 25% to 50%. Dallas FC said that it will allow 5,110 fans to attend, which is slightly less than 25% of the 20,500 capacity of the stadium.
Fans are required to sign a waiver in order to go to the game, and everyone is required to wear face masks at all times while on stadium property, including while in the parking lot, the team said.
Cash is not accepted at concession stands in order to minimize physical interaction, the team said. No paper tickets are being distributed, as all tickets will be delivered and processed through the AXS ticketing app.
Texas currently has recorded at least 517,700 confirmed coronavirus cases -- third most among US states -- and 9,222 deaths, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

If its the same as it has been in Louisville for their soccer games with fans in attendance, when you're in your seat, you may remove your mask as they have fans separated by more than 6 feet.
When you get up from your seat to go to concession, bathroom, etc...you're required to wear your mask.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

IIt's interesting to see the US and Sweden are nearly identical despite Sweden never taking too many measures. We shut down more than they did, and if it wasn't for the LTC blunder, their numbers might actually be even better than ours and many other countries. It goes to show that we really don't know as much about this virus as we think we do.I knew that graph looked funny, it seems Johns Hopkins agglomerates all EU members as one country. Same in ct. They have a college summer league baseball team allowing 25% capacity and a soccer team in Hartford that I guess is like a minor league team i don’t really know soccer. I went to a baseball game it was general admission everyone spread out, masks in the corridors. Seemed very safe.
Now this was a 5,000 seat stadium at full capacity so it was signicantly less people than will be at the mls game and CT is in a much better place now we definitely weren’t doing this back in April so we’ll see. But I would think as long as they do a good job of distancing coming in and out of the stadium it will be ok
