Apparently we had a dude around my area trying to set up shop selling toilet paper at 10 bucks a roll. A group of people went to his location and pretty much raided his supplies and was donating it to local facilities.

He apparently had formula too but he locked it in the car with him and took off.

If this is true then the guy got what he deserved.

I went to the store yesterday and the shelves were packed with formula, meats, etc. I've seen some shortages here and there, but a lot of the shortages around here primarily seem to be people shopping at Publix, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

My dad has worked several decades for a large grocery distributor and he was telling me that it's been basically business as usual for them, but they are checking temperature at the guard gate when they come in and if you have a fever you can't come back for two weeks. In a time like this if you're looking for groceries and they don't have it those discount/privately owned stores, Aldi, etc. may be able to fill the void. Some people might have to tour some neighborhoods they would typically avoid lol.

Also consider Staples, Office Depot, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. for some toiletry items. We needed some things for non-hoarding purposes and found it pretty easy at the HD by my house. I worked there for a long time in my late teens/early 20's and people were always surprised we sold that stuff.

Idk I hate hoarders, but I really haven't experienced shortages like some.. guess I've been lucky.

Barbers, hair, and nail salons closing here. Malls closed yesterday.

My state has been probably one of the more proactive ones, but at the same time, I don't get why all these new measures keep slowly trickling in each day, as if they are waiting to see what happens. We know over the near future things aren't going to get better, so just take all these measures now

With everything shut down in Vegas we can now buy the premium cuts that would have normally gone to high end restaurants. Kinda neat.

            https://blackboxmeats.com/

They're overwhelmed at the moment though, not setup for customer-facing operation normally and have been inundated since the news ran a piece on them yesterday.

The danger of an information vacuum is that nature abhors a vacuum. That's why I've been really careful in linking adequately sourced articles--WHO Reports, CDC info, studies based on legitimate science (university and govt studies), articles about studies and based on legitimate news sites. I hope to continue to get good, science-based information wherever I can find it.

What Don Lemon or Laura Ingraham or Sean Hannity or Rachel Maddow thinks about it or is afraid of doesn't really concern me. It's also extremely troubling to me that the cable networks continue to engage in the blame game rather than blasting out 100% useful information 24/7 that people could use to protect themselves. It's so and so's fault. No, it's such and such's fault. There'll be a time for that and that time is definitely not now.

                      Agreed.

I watch for the same things you do and listen to Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx. I don't try to get caught up in the other names you mentioned. I'm not going to mention any names, but one person on my Twitter Timeline retweeted a reporter right after the press conference that the FDA approved of the new antibiotic that they are testing. I'm like what,?, did you even listen, just irresponsible news reporting and clickbait.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I feel the TP driven panic partially comes from one's own DNA. In other words, if you've been a worry wort most of your life, you will go out and stock up and become part of the problem instead of the solution. I don't see too much of the names you mentioned tell people go out and purchase all the TP because the world is ending, but maybe some of them do, just not when I'm looking. lol

That is something we personally cannot control.

Pennsylvania's governor has mandated that all non-essential businesses shut down at 8 PM tonight. Restaurants and such will still be able to do take-out/drive through/delivery. Guess that barbershop I pass every day that was still open yesterday will be closed now.

Depends on what grocery chain you going to. Walmart is now 7am to 8:30pm. Price Chopper/Market 32 no longer 24 hours, they are 7am to 10pm. If you are a senior citizen you can get in at 6am.
