I wonder how that works for companies that give sick leave as a benefit but workers already used all or most of it?

Yeah I’m not sure about the details. I’m down at the Hill periodically for work but I’m not privy to those kind of details.

Order is gonna come down soon for my department. Could be looking at 16 hours days 5 says a week.


Normal 40 hour week plus the chance of being “held hostage” for an additional 8 per day if we need bodies.

I don't want to negate anyone's legit fear or caution, but man when I hear people say these are such dark times, and having sports cancelled is unimaginable and incomprehensible, makes me think of how spoiled we are. Try reading a little history. We are ok.

Time will tell I guess. If I was at my previous employer where I didn't have group health insurance or an actual sick/medical leave policy I would be a lot more concerned and worried than I am. So anybody who's in that boat I can certainly understand their outlook.

Likewise for many of the performers, vendors, et al the people who typically make all these canceled conferences and events go on. I can't imagine facing festival season only to not have that paycheck coming now.

Welp it's full on panic mode at the grocery store. It's busier then any holiday right now with people literally buying everything they can get their hands on. I run the produce Dept at my store and I anticipated it getting busier. But even with that my order today will be destroyed and the dept ripped. It's happening to the rest of the store as well. Crazy.

Well a national emergency was just declared by the president, so I would imagine everybody will be running to stores now. You also have to take into account, schools are closed now in most places, so therefore parents have to have way more food in their house now that their kids will be home all day.

Yea, my last time at the grocery store was Tuesday i think, might have been slightly busier but everything seemed mostly normal. Today shelves are empty. Can't remember seeing anything like it

It was already bad. I went to Walmart and grocery store and shelves were empty. There were people waiting for stock to be brought out.

I just don't understand the TP hoarding. I was at Wallyworld today and the whole aisle on both sides bare shelving.

Yeah, people are freaking insane with the panic mode. Everyone always acting like its the end of the world. The TP stuff is especially crazy, how much TP do these people use or think they need. I live along and 1 roll probably lasts me around 3 weeks give or take.

I hope my Giant Eagle isn't too bad on Sunday when I make my weekly trip.

The grocery store by my gym opens at 5AM, I would try and go during opening if I was going out for supplies. Even in crisis ain't many people gonna be up then, lol
