Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

Just got home from Giant Eagle grocery store, and it wasn't that bad at all. There a lot of people there, but you were mostly able to move freely. The stock was fine as well. A few things were low, like pasta. But everything else was stocked well. Tons of fresh meat, frozen isles were completely stocked. Plenty of milk bread and eggs.

I think the one thing that is happening now is the fact that they cancelled all these events, sports leagues, schools, it's making people think it's worse than it is. All of that is precautionary and being done to protect people, which it will.

But it gives the illusion that this is way more out of control than it actually is.

I'm contemplating a Friday night grocery run, something I do occasionally to beat the weekend crowd and get it out of the way. I also have 20% off my order, so it's the time to stock up even in normal circumstances. The question is... How far down the rabbit hole do I go?

Wisconsin is another state that has closed all schools, public and private, K-12 till April 6th till further notice. We have our 1st CV case in our county and they are in quarantine. They picked up CV by travelling internationally.

And a student from the Univ. of MN Twin Cities has contacted CV.

I went to 4 different stores (Walmart, Walgreens, king soopers, and Safeway) and all 4 were completely out of anything that disinfects.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

If you are young and in good health, you should be able to live your life as normal and carry on.

No so with older adults, like mom's, dad's, uncles, aunt's and grandparents. Their immune systems are much weaker vs people a generation or two younger.

That article I linked yesterday hit home with me, this virus isn't about me, it's about them.

I don't have time for people that are buying things up in panic mode thinking how toilet paper will save them.

I'm trying to focus on helping my parents out any way I can(and my grandma), whether it's grocery shopping or whatever they need. My dad's immune system happens to be low currently because he is taking chemo.

Some people will breeze through the CV, but others may have a bit more difficult time than others on a temporary basis.

I just hope people can respect and appreciate both sides.

I dunno why peeps in America are trippin about toilet paper. Install a detachable bidet/sprayer and:

                        1. Cleaner Booty, no miss swipes
                        2. No clumps of toilet paper stuck in your butt
                        3. Not creating more waste/saving trees
                        4. No more clogged toilets (unless you drop a nuke)
                        5. You have something to clean the toilet streaks immediately.
                        6. You get a little sweaty and don’t have time to shower, boom instant fresh junk.
                        7. You’ll never get [emoji90] on your fingers

To dry you sit there, play a couple rounds of words with friends and you’re dry or use very minimal toilet paper to dry or a towel.

Too good to be true moment.

My work might compensate people who are impacted by the closures. If I did the math correctly (which I probably didn't), I could make almost 10% more money from sitting at home than if I went to work.

Mainly because of all the money saved from my commute to/from work.

I run the produce Dept at my store and I anticipated it getting busier. But even with that my order today will be destroyed and the dept ripped. It's happening to the rest of the store as well. Crazy.

I work at a grocery store to and it was nuts today and tomorrow is going to be even worse. They are calling for snow sunday and any time they call for snow the day before is like nuts even though it snows multiple times a year here and even though 95% of the time it snows it either don't stick or only gets like 1-2 inches and is gone in like a day. I don't want to even think of how bad its going to be tomorrow after how crazy today was. I got to work at 8 am and it was nuts and i heard at like 6:30 this morning it was nuts. We open at 6 and normally you hardly have like 2 people in the store at a time when its that early yet i heard at 6:30 we had a line in a check stand of like 20 people. TP we have basically been with out for like a month. We got some today around 9 am it was being put out on the shelf and some time between then and 3 pm we where completely out. Not only that but all day there where a lot of orders of like 400-500 dollars like ever other order.

                              I went to Kroger tonight.

Completely out of any type of paper cleaning product (TP, paper towels, napkins), any type of disinfectant, rubbing alcohol, bottled water and most packaged lunch meats. I didn't check the canned goods, but I assume those were nearly out or out.

When I went to use the self-checkout lane, a clerk had to bring plastic bags over. She said she was down to her last couple of rolls. Crazy.

I saw this becoming a thing about a month ago.

Last three weeks I've gone to store and stocked up in case we went on lockdown. People said I was crazy and it would blow over. Do I believe I went overboard, yes but rather be stocked up then rushing and fighting over supplies.

Last Thursday, Maryland got it's first case so I'd decided to run grocery store at 6am on Friday ...no one up that early. Got me extra food, snacks, Gatorade. Not one person in the store.

I went this morning (one week later, same time 6am)to grab some food to cook over weekend so I didn't touch my lockdown stash. Store had about 25 people, carts couldn't be found anywhere. Shelf's were empty. Literally one package of chicken breast available.

The one thing I found funny was all the coke products were empty but Pepsi was stacked.

Also all those people who said I was crazy were running to stores during lunch and after work yesterday waiting in lines for 25+ minutes.....
