Symptoms can really be anything at this point. Anchorage had a case where the only symptom was diarrhea and the patient was positive for coronavirus.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Going to tell you guys some scary news that might be coming to your state soon. My governor late last night told all big box stores in the state they can only sell essential items ONLY, Meaning food and drink only. Boy I tell you what, they had yellow tape every where throughout these big box stores blocking all the departments that didn't sell food.
Can't buy movies, video games, laptops, computers, tablets, TVs, clothes, fabric, fishing poles, fishing license, grills, power tools, school supplies, toys, paint, fans, air conditioners, none of that anymore. But of course people did what they wanted to do, went under the tapes all over and put stuff in their carts anyway. As soon as they went to the registers they were denied. Cops were in these stores because yeah people got violent. It was like an army of mega Karens.
So if your governor issue the same order in your state, I am just letting you know they are not F'ng around when they say essential items only. Today was the first day of this order. Nobody knows how many weeks it is going to be like this in this state either, but the covid spreading like wildfire up here and they trying to stop people from coming to the stores everyday buying random crap that isn't food.
Walmart even went as far as shutting off the water fountains with sign posted saying due to covid, water is turned off.
I don't think swinging through and grabbing something premeditated without having to think is much of an issue. It's people loitering and hanging out browsing out of boredom. For example: I bought some groceries the other day and on my way around the store I grabbed a few baseballs because we are running low at the house for the kids. I also grabbed a pack of Uno cards. It's not as if I made a trip specifically for that, but It took a few seconds for me to grab while I was already there.
I don't feel bad about that because when you're at home with kids and the home becomes all they get to experience you still need ways to entertain. They still need something to do if they are stuck at home and looking at the same yard/walls every day. Same with Easter stuff... we have been slowly buying a few things for Easter every trip to get groceries.
My wife is planning one more trip this weekend that would get us through April on groceries without having to get anything else sans maybe milk (depending on availability). Hopefully that's the last of either of us going anywhere outside of me going to work.
If a big box retailer is doing it in one state there's a good chance the directive has been given out to everyone. I had plans of building a fire pit and a flower bed for my wife this Spring, but I'm not rushing out to go buy that stuff. I have friends who still work for HD and they are extremely frustrated at people thinking remodeling their house or yard is considered essential right now.Last edited by AUChase; 04-02-2020, 08:01 AM.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Right, I read an article about testing in Iceland. They are testing even people with no symptoms. They said 50% of the positive tests had no symptoms at all. No one knows though how many of those will never develop symptoms and how many they just caught early

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Maine 3/31/20 275 confirmed cases of Covid-19
4/1/20 343 confirmed cases of Covid-19 7 deaths.
The large majority of cases are in Cumberland County , that's where I live. I'm not going anywhere. My wife is now working from home even though she was the only person still going into the office. Right now she's at the supermarket getting necessary supplies to last us through the rest of April.
We called the mortgage company and told them we'd like to stop payments until August 1st , they were fine with that. I did the same with my credit card company they said they could do two months without late fees but after that they have to charge them. I said do what you have to do , I won't be making payments.
Good times.....Comment

Just dropping in to leave a note of positivity. We will come out the other side of this okay. There will, unfortunately be deaths. But America will make it through this.
It will be painful, but we will get there. Hopefully this can help bring our communities together and put aside our differences and we can help one another

Is the interest still accruing even though payment dont have to be made?

Good times.....Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

One store run for the whole of the month? You’re a better man than I. I need fresh food. Once a week is what we’re doing.
Our complex management is requesting everyone pay rent online. They graciously waived the $1 service fee. [emoji849] They’re being generally predatory, telling people to file for unemployment and letting everyone know we’re getting a stimulus and they expect us to pay out of that.
Our lease ends on May 31st. They sent us a letter letting us know rent is going up by over 600$ over the course of the next lease ($53/month). We told them we’re not renewing, they can use our security deposit for our last month’s rent and we’re moving out April 30th. They tried to say they’d charge late fees if we paid out of the security deposit. We countered with the state law that says rent can’t be increased and no late fees charged during a state of emergency.
I’ve been unemployed for months. My wife had her hours cut by 20% and probably will get another cut before an eventual layoff. Luckily, we have an arrangement worked out to cut our living expenses by half. Had this backup plan prepared for a while. Not everyone does though.
I get it, if tenants don’t pay, the complex (which is huge) suffers. But damn, work with your people and don’t try to break the law. This is crazy for everyone. We should share the burden within reason to ease it for all instead of leaving people to nothing so you can continue to get yours.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Personally, I would assume so.
I was checking the income tax deadline for VA. Their solution just feels purposely convoluted and just as confusing as normal tax law.
Tax returns are due on May 1st. Everybody automatically gets a 6 month extension (always have). If you owe taxes to the state then the tax is due by May 1st. They will allow you to pay as late as June 1st with no Late Payment Penalty, HOWEVER, interest will accrue from May 1st to whenever you pay.
Basically it just seems like a feel good marketing ploy to allow people to say they aren't charging late fees.

Yes. Most major servicers are allowing folks to pause their payment for 90 days but on the 91st day, everything is due.
Now, most major servicers have extensive foreclosure prevention infrastructure from the 08 fallout so you should call them and see what long term options are available to you. Especially if you have direct COVID-19 impact.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
We freeze a lot of stuff. We will still need milk , eggs and bread , but the main meals are now covered. At this point I'm planing as if there will be a total shut down. I hope that wouldn't happen but who knows. Going gun shopping tomorrow.
My wife came home from the market crying, she said the whole experience shopping was like the beginning of a horror movie.Only 100 people allowed in at a time, No one talking , everyone staying away from each other , most people wearing masks. I made her wear rubber gloves but she wouldn't take the mask. She said she didn't want to be seen with an N95 mask when there's a shortage. When she got home she said everyone had N95's on. The Store employees were geared up quite a bit for protection. She was visibly upset.
I really hope we get a handle on this thing soon.Last edited by JMD; 04-02-2020, 11:01 AM.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Meanwhile my brother-in-law is going out to every hardware store around us and bringing his 3 girls with him everywhere he goes (they're 8, 7, and 3). Hell, these kids are sick all the time as it is. They don't need to be risking catching covid.
If you can't get people to take proper precautions now then unfortunately things will need to be escalated.
