    RB Leipzig
Season 1 Offseason Moves Summer Transfer Window
I went into the year not really knowing what this team needed. For the 1st window I thought I would use GTN and looked for a striker and a CAM. I started by looking over the squad report and found that I had two players out on loan that were better than what I was working with on the wings. So I recalled Massimo Bruno and Marcel Sabitzer from RB Salzburg and inserted them into the starting line up. I had not used this team before and looking at the starting ST's I was worried about their finishing ability so I started searching for FA ST's. At this very moment I got a scouting report for a tall ST from fellow 2.Bundesliga team Darmstadt. Dominik Stroh-Engel is a 29 year old 6'6" ST with 72 finishing and 90 strength. I wanted a target man and this guy fit the bill for 1.8 M I thought he was a steal. I then got a report on a FA. 35 year old ST Carlos Saucedo had 78 Finish and 67 Strength he wanted 1 year $ 8,000 Wk. I put a bid in for both on the same day and signed both without thinking about how many that put on the squad.... suffice to say Saucedo is not getting much run and he is quite upset.

After the 1st two signings I focused on some speed and a playmaker up front. I found Mathis Bolly a 64 rated wing who is super quick (97 SP, 97 ACC) with good size (6'1") to boot. I talked Fortuna Dusseldorf into letting him go for 1.6 M. The thought is to use him as a late game sub with a holding ST CAM he can run by most back lines and sneak in a couple of late goals. Last but not least the best signing of the offseason has to be 24 year old CAM,CM,CDM Tolgay Arslan. He is rated 72 OVR with 4* weak foot 3* skill moves. Arslan is the starting LCM for Hamburger SV in the 1st Division but after offering 4 Million and a significant bump in pay I was able to get him over the line before the 1st game. Arslan's biggest attribute is his ability to play multiple positions. He is a box to box type CM at 5'11" he is big enough not to get bumped off the ball but is agile enough to get around bigger midfielders.

All in all we got three starters/subs in this window and still had enough money left over to buy a scout. With just over 1 million left and 30k in wages my January Window does not look to promising as far as new players. We shall see if the board want's to fight for top of the table or not.

      RB Leipzig

After a 2-1 start to the year in friendlies (8-5 scoring aggregate) all of which were simulated I looked forward to my 1st game with the squad. We started with the default 4-4-2 formation.
      Aug 22nd @FC Ingolstadt L 1-0
The 2014 season kicked off on the road on Aug 22nd with a trip to FC Ingolstadt. The team struggled to maintain possession and our passing was horrible (64%) put that together with the fact that in the offensive half of the field we looked lost and nobody was on the same page led to a 1-0 defeat that wasn't even that close. This could be a long season!!

      Aug 29th @ FC Heidenheim D 1-1
Getting better had the lead until extra time don't want to say I got glitched but damn felt like some BS!!

      Sept 12th VS VFL Bochum W 4-0
Wow were did this come from. Yeah playing home games on PRO makes a huge difference. It seemed that against this team the spacing was perfect and the scoring was just through perfect passes and nice runs.

      Sept 21st @ FC St Pauli D 3-3
Now I really think this game is glitched. up 3-2 in extra time St Pauli gets a free kick from about 45 yards and the CPU lifts it into the box to an unmarked ST that pops it over the head of my goalie from a good 18 yards out. It was a thing of beauty but damn it stung.

      Sept 28th VS VFR Aalen D 1-1
Game of chances missed by both teams. Neither team could get the ball over the goal line when it counted. Aalen had a goal that was scored late but the CF was offside. I jumped off the couch when he scored lol almost woke up the house when I realized what happened.

      Oct 6th @ Braunschweig D 0-0
Ok Ok enough with the Draws I am falling further and further out of promotion spots with every 1 PT. Yeah Yeah I know 1 pt is better than 0.

      Oct 20th VS Karlsruher L 0-1
Well being the great football mind that I am I thought I would switch up my formation and use a 4-3-3 formation with a couple of subs off the bench(requests for playing time). The chemistry was horrible and it lead to several wasted runs and crosses that came up lacking. Headed to the practice grounds to figure this out.

      Oct 25th @FC Nuremberg L 2-0
Ugh short week lots of subs and still no solution to a formation that works with this team!!!

Oct 29th DEUTSCHER POKAL VS Heidenheim W 2-1 in extra time!!!
WOW what a game. At home so I was on PRO but Heidenheim played tough. I had a 1-0 lead and parked the bus late only to see them equalize with under 4 min left in regulation. Put on a CDM sub in the 1st 15 and he caused a TO that I countered into a score. I held on for the win with a strong D (no more parking the bus)!!

      Nov 1st VS FSV Frankfurt D 2-2
Tough team FSV was. They clog the middle and make it near impossible to work a 1-2 run. Crosses were good this game and Poulsen looks like a mainstay in the starting lineup. Just 20 years old and standing at 6'4" he has 82 strength and 85/86 speed stats. I think I may have found a formation that works

      Nov 9th @Darmstadt W 0-4
Big win but with a big loss. Do-everything CM new signing Tolgay Arslan pulled his hamstring and will miss 3-4 weeks. Just when we starting clicking and all things looked headed to the top we are going to look for some young lads to step up and fill some big shoes.

      Nov 17th VS Sandhausen W 1-0
Well we got 3 points but the loss of Arslan looks to impact the team in the offensive zone a lot more than I thought. In fact we scored 4 min into this game and after half time switched to a 2 CDM formation to keep Sandhausen from equalizing late. Might need to tinker with the line up to spice it up a little on the offensive end.

So going into December we sit at 11th in the League with 3 W 5 D 3 L and 14 Points. 1860 Munich sits atop the table on goal differential ahead of FC Kaiserslautern both with 25 points. FC Ingolstadt 04 is in third with 21 points.
Yussuf Poulsen leads the team with 5 Goals
Massimo Bruno has 3 assists to lead the team in that category.

West Ham United - Episode #17: Routing Some Reds

In this episode we face some very tough tests from last year's runners up Liverpool away at Anfield and then in the FA Cup against the current holders Arsenal away at the Emirates.

Welbeck and Alexis have returned and the team's offense has been great. Come the transfer window I'm thinking of getting rid of Arteta, Flamini, and maybe Mertesacker. And possibly bringing in Will Carvalho, Lalana, Hummels. And also maybe get rid of Cazorla. Move Ozil as LW. Podolski been a great 2nd string LW for me

I have a question concerning the Youth Academy. By the time I'm 5-6 years into a CM (if I ever get that far) I like the majority of my team to be comprised of players from the YA. For anyone who uses it with any regularity you know that if you search for Wingers you often get LB/RBs who are fast and can do everything. What are your experiences with playing these players out of position? For example, I have a beastly LB who looks like a mispositioned ST (plenty of pace, great dribbling, 77 att pos., 74 finishing) but he has Low/High work rates. How would he actually play on-field if I put him up front?

Im no expert on youth academy knowledge as most I learned is from other guys here. But im quick to answer what I know. If you get a mispositioned player, which a lot of people do, they you just play them in the position they are strong at. You arent going to put a guy at LB because he is listed as a LB if he stinks at tackling. Play him in the position he is statistically suppose to play.

As far as work rates, that is one thing that you cannot fix from what I know. You just have to adjust your tactic and hopefully putting him in a slot where you tell him to stay forward and he listens.

Was playing a game and noticed that Alan Smith said something about my team having Brazilians in the pipeline.
One of the areas I'm doing youth scouting is in Brazil.

Never heard that before in previous Fifas. Its small but I like the more specific career mode commentating.

Last year that's what I would do since you could modify the Formation and change work rates. I only looked briefly yesterday but I didn't see that option on the Formations tab. It would be very annoying to have a ST that keeps tracking back to the 1st third because his defensive work rate is High.

It should be under the tactics section where you can tell the St to stay central or go out wide...I dont think for a st there is an option though to stay forward, as most do anyways. I believe thats only when you get to a Cam position. Idk, Id say just try him there and see how far he actually works back for the ball

Yeah I figured that's what they replaced that screen with. Sigh, I'll just have to roll the dice and see what happens.

I like to read a lot of stories from others CM in FIFA. Found out this message boards pretty recently (over an 1,5 year) to know more about sliders and discovered this board. Also, this is my first post. Sorry for any bad english.

I don’t have too much time to play some CM lately since I’ve got the game on launch. I’m going to make a quick recap from my CM. I’ve always used Brazilian teams, but since this year the league was cutoff due licensing issues, I’ve choose instead a top-flight team and when things started to get to much easier, I’ll start over on lower tiers.

                            2014-2015
First season with the Gooners, the Board determined:
-Domestic League: Win the league (achieved)
-Domestic Cup: Win the cup (eliminated on Round of 16 to Man Utd)

                            IN
                            - Alen Halilovic (CM / 18 yo / £6.5 million from Barcelona B)
                            - John Stones (CB / 20 yo / £ 6 million from Everton)
                            - Eric Dier (CB / 20 yo / £ 6 million from Tottenham)

                            OUT
                            - Francis Coquelin (Free transfer to Burnley)
                            - Abou Diaby (Free transfer to Everton)

There was a lot of draws during first half of the season and near the winter transfer window started an injury crises on my defenders, had to put Chambers+Flamini in 3 games until I’ve secured an backup CB. Also, even with Koscielny played every single game, he was feeling “unsettled” at the club. Besides that, everything went better than expected and managed to secure the league on the last round. Also, Welback finished as top scorer of the league with 22 goals and Ozil as top assist with 15 goals created.
On FA Cup, was eliminated by Man Utd on a very tough game. The Board leave it ok as “we draw a better opponent”. And, finally, on Capital One Cup, was also eliminated on semifinals against West Ham. On both leg, WH went with their main starting eleven (and me, as usual, with reserves and subs). Two blowouts (3-0 and 2-5) LOL.

                            HONORS:
                            - Premier League winners

Some reinforcements to the new season, I’ve been attacked by some other wealthy clubs to sell Walcott (£ 45 million from PSG), Welback (£ 30 million from Barcelona) and Ozil (£ 65 million from PSG). Beside an 4-0 win on Chelsea on Community Shield, as usual, I didn’t performed so well on first half, at least entering on Champions Cup zone by January. An ego war started by Oxlade-Chamberlain was the headline of last part of the season. Giroud put Welback on the bench, as the youngster lifted the Capital One Cup with the new sign Adam Campbell the player of the tournament. At the Champions Cup, no surprise on Group Stage, got victories over Bayer Leverkusen, PSG, but a last-minute from Bayern kept me out from the finals. I’ve also decided to manage France on European Cup. After a slow start and new injury crises, got a 6-1 win against Greece but stopped on 0-1 against very compacted Belgium.

On what would be the first silverware of the season turned on a defeat on penalty shootout against Chelsea on Community Shield. Once again, wealthy clubs like Chelsea and PSG tried to snap Varane (£ 20 million) and Ozil (£ 49 million). There was some players on the sidelines due European Cup, like Welbeck and Kos. Buying Benzema was emergencial, since the board sold Giroud and Adam Campbell is too young to carry the team. And I finally estabilish the Youth Team.

Now I'm on last week of October, pursuing Manchester City by 6 points, both undefeated in the league (5W-4D against 8W-1D). On Champions Cup Group Stage, I'm also undefeated with 7 points, with Atletico Madrid with 5 pts. On Capital One Cup, will be facing Fulham.

                              RB Leipzig

I have got the chance the last couple of nights to get quite a few games in so I thought I would update you on how the season has fared to this point. I am fast approaching the January Window and it doesn't look like I will get any help money wise from the board. This could pose a problem as I feel I need a solid CB (I am playing a CDM there at the moment) and an extra RB/LB just in case of injury. With the cash that I spent in the Summer window I am only left with about 1.3 Million and or 29K a week. Through my research there are several pre contract signings that I would love to make. Soooo I am left with asking the board for more money(which will not be much as we are a second tier team) or sit on my hands and watch the big dogs make it rain (I am a Newcastle fan so I am used to this most transfer windows) More on that in an upcoming post as I would like to share my short list of players.

                              So on to the games
                              Nov 23rd @ F Dusseldorf D 0-0
Both teams were lacking as I was dealing with multiply injuries. I put a very weak side on the pitch today on the offensive front. Dusseldorf challenged my GK multiple times but he was up to the task and won MOM.

                              Nov 30th VS Erzgebirge Aue W 3-1
Just one of those games where everything goes right. We kept possession for most of the game and dominated the match in our zone. Good win to get the lads back on track and move up the table.

                              Dec 5th @ Greuther Furth W 0-1
Late minute dramatics at the stadium today folks. Scoring in extra time Yusuf Poulson came through in a big way with a header played on to him by a streaking Massimo Bruno. WHAT CLASS this boy is showing!!

                              Dec 15th VS FZ Union W 3-0
This one was over soon after it began as I scored two early goals before 20 min had ticked off the clock. Arslan is back and he added a goal and an assist. The guys are on a 3 game win streak and have scored 7 goals to one given up. Nice timing as we are now sitting in 7th.

                              Dec 20th @ FC Klautern W 1-2
Leipzig traveled to Klautern today to take on the club at the head of the table. They did not disappoint the fans that traveled to the game as it was a gem of a match. GK Coltorti was standing on his head for most of the game. He had 13 saves and even though he gave up his clean sheet he was still named man of the match. Team moves up to 5th in the table and only sits 7 behind the leaders.

                              Dec 24th Deutcher Pokal @ Bayern Munich L 4-1
Well this one didn't go my way at all. I had 4 days rest in the 3rd game in 9 days and I had some tired peeps. I wanted to rest a couple of guys but I still wanted to win this game bad. I needed the money that a win would give me as I was real close to the January window. I decided to split my team with some 2nd squad people with 3 starters that would play 1 half each. Well 2 min into the game my 19 year old CDM Kalmar tried to tackle Mario Goetze only to be left holding his jock strap and clipping Mario's heel. The ref thought this was worthy of a Red card. I knew the home cooking was going to be tough to overcome but damn that one was a gut shot. They scored 2 min later and were up 2-0 going into the break. The possession was no joke 90-10 I would make a save pass it to my RB/LB make maybe 1-2 more passes and turn the ball over. They were quicker and sooooo much better at passing and tackling. I scored early into the second half only to see me give up two more goals before the final whistle. This game really scares me as I am equal if not better than most teams in the 2nd tier but talent wise if I make it to promotion with this team I could be in for a long season.

So I'm having the same old budget issue that haunted myself and others in FIFA 14.

In my first season with Southampton I was given a budget of £12m and was told to achieve a Europa League spot. I did the domestic double, and had around £20m in total money (including prize money) at the end of the season.

New year rolls around, and I have £8m - same old story, the rest is all gone.

I am aware of the budget trick where you load one player with all of your money in wages and get rid of him in the new season, but I'm having a hard time off-loading the player/s I want to in the new season to free up this cash.

Is there any other way to get around this stupid bug which EA has again ignored to look at?

                                Would really appreciate any input!
