    Bristol City
    Year 2, FL Championship

Just passed the 1/4 mark of the my first season in the Championship, I am definitely finding it more of a challenge than League 1.

    TABLE:
    1. Wolverhampton - 28 points
    2. Aston Villa - 25 points
    .....
    8. Burnley - 19 points
    9. Bristol City - 17 points
    10. Ipswich Town - 17 points

So at the moment I am sitting pretty comfortably on the higher side of mid-table. I have a 4-5-3 record.

I'm finding it MUCH harder to score that it was last year. I have 11 goals through 12 matches, one of the lowest totals in the league. However, my defensive record has been among the best in the league, allowing only 9 goals. I think I can partially attribute that to my CB pairing, which are two of the better players on my team.

Kieran Agard is once again the best player on the team. He has 6 of my 11 goals so far this year, in his 10 appearances.

Of my 3 Academy players who are getting extensive playing time, as first choices in my Starting XI, 2 are in form. My CDM is +1 for an overall of 70, and my RM is +2 for an overall of 68. Both are showing a lot of promise. Hopefully they can be staples on the team for years to come.

It will be tough to gain promotion for the second year in a row. I'm not ruling it out, but I think a comfortable mid table finish is more likely. And, in all honesty, I think that would be best for the team. We're very young, and probably need another year of seasoning before going to play the giants in the EPL.

Hope someone can answer your question, pretty crappy if they don't have a cup presentation to be honest, I tend to lean towards the BPL for Career Mode almost based on presentation alone.

Awesome! Thanks for the list. That explains his foul strictness, he was really calling everything, think I deserved some of the cards just based on persistent infrigement, a few were strange. I enjoy it as well. I don't think I've ever had a player be suspended for yellow card accumulation in Career Mode, like I don't even know if that's in the game haha. I'm bound to have it happen with Mulumbu or Pocognoli soon.

I think the issue has to do with you finishing joint top, I saw the same issue for someone who finished joint top in the BPL and no cut scene ever came up but they won the league. If you finish all clear by yourself at the top of the table, the game processes that and goes through with the league title cutscene.

I think that's correct only problem is I have only one save that's before the last game and no matter how many times I replay it Juventus win 4-0 5-0 against Livorno at home I must have tried 20 times

I simmed to the next season as a test and it says I have won 0 titles so it didn't award the league to me or juventus.. major bug if you ask me very disappointing I might just replay it and concede the title to Juve and try win it next season still have the cup final to play at least

              Last post = #597.

Newcastle go into a hectic period of fixtures, looking to keep up the pace in the PL with the top 6 and also juggle a cup run. Just adding 3 here which I've played today, difficult to play for long as currently battling pneumonia haha. (I reckon you'll be able to tell when I was getting too worn out from it haha.)

              23. (H) 1-0 win v Stoke (Hernandez 37')

Stoke presented a stern test to us, setting themselves up to defend from the first whistle. We got the breakthrough after Hernandez headed in from a Sissoko corner. Stoke rarely pushed forward even after conceding. Will be interesting to see if they play like this in our FA Cup tie in a few weeks.

              24. (A) 2-1 win v Crystal Palace (Hernandez 3', 61') (Campbell 24')

I sent the team out with instructions to go all out from the start and the plan paid dividends when Cabella slid in an early ball for Hernandez to toe poke past Speroni in the Palace goal. Palace equalised in the first half after some sloppy control from Tiote allowed Frazier Campbell the chance to run at my defence who capitulated, giving him time and space to drive the ball in. We were in the ascendancy for the rest of the game, constantly trying to break down Palace. It eventually worked in the 61st minute, Rolando Aarons sending a great 30 yard through ball for Hernandez to run on to, burning the defence and slotting in at the near post.

              25. (A) 3-0 loss v Hull (Aluko 71', 75', 78')

Absolutely flummoxed with this result, we played well and dominated the first half without finding a goal though. Hull took the lead against the run of play, substitute Sone Aluko heading in. As we quickly set out to equalise, we were caught out way too easily, Aluko able to beat Coloccini and fire in from 10 yards out. Three minutes later, Aluko completed his hat trick and compounded our misery by tapping in from a yard out after Snodgrass sent a quick low cross in.

That defeat dropped us down to 6th after Liverpool overtook us. Luckily there is a fair gap between the top 7 and the rest of the league so we dust ourselves down and move on. FA Cup tie v Stoke to look forward to next, fielding some of the youngsters again but adding one or two first team regulars to the line up.

Interesting... well how did you do against Juventus in the season? Because I see the Serie A tiebreakers are head to head points totals (like you vs. Juve) and then goal difference so if you didnt win in head to head points then Juve may have won on goal difference.

yea I thought that too I beat them both times 4-3 at home and 2-1 away which I guess is why the AI shows me top of the table but its not processing that I won the titles

so frustrating I am in 2 minds to just let juventus win the title by loading up the save and forfeit my game to lose and then try win it clearly next season

                    9. (A) 0-0 draw vs Stoke City

A very dull game at a rainy Britannia stadium. There were only 2 shots on target in the whole game from both sides and we just couldn't get anything going. Dyer and Sigurosson, who are normally very good for us, were poor and didn't create much which was preventing Gomis from doing much. However one positive we can take is that we got our first CS of the season and a well deserved one with Williams and Fernandez keeping Stoke out well and Britton was breaking up play in the midfield although Schmeichel had a quiet game.

                    10. (H) 1-1 draw vs Leicester (Dyer 77’) (63’ Ulloa)

Another really frustrating draw against a team we should really be beating comfortably. We started off brightly, the return of Bony really lifting our spirits as we made good moves in the Leicester half. However as has been a common theme in our recent games we just couldn't find the final ball and our shots were ether blocked or intercepted before they could be taken. We continued our pressure in the second half but it was Leicester who took the lead with virtually there first shot of the game, Ulloa beating his former keeper Schmeichel after an error from Williams gifted him the ball. Montero wasted a great chance not long after, beating three men from the half way line before blasting the ball over the bar. Leicester pushed more bodies forward and we were able to exploit this and a defence splitting pass from Sigurosson sent Dyer through and he equalised with a side footed shot into the far corner. We just couldn’t get another chance after that and the game ended on level pegging, our 3rd consecutive draw.

                    11. (A) 1-1 draw vs Everton (Mirallas 22') (Bony 56')

We were very lucky to get a draw in this game. Coming to Goodison Park is always hard and this was no exception and they were all over us from kick off eventually making there pressure pay off with a goal from Mirallas, who peeled off his marker and slotted it past Schmeichel. The Danish keeper then made several key saves and interceptions to keep us in the game. We started to look promising late in the first half with Bony missing a header by inches and then scoring but sadly he was offside and it didn't count. The second half started brightly for us and Bony managed to power a header past Robles (who was filling in for the injured Howard) from a Sigurosson corner. That was pretty much our last chance and from then on the ball was mostly stuck in the middle of the park with the occasional break from Everton. They almost pinched the 3 points at the end but Schmeichel palmed away a powerful Lukaku shot to give us a valuable point.

                    12. (H) 2-3 loss vs Arsenal (Carrol 49', Routledge 66') (Walcott 8', Dzeko 45', Giroud 90+3')

A 5 goal thriller at the Liberty Stadium. I was forced the change the team sheet as we had a game against Man City away in 3 days time. As has been the case this season we started off poorly and were exploited defensively early on and Walcott gave the visitors the lead just 8 minutes in. Things got worse just before half time as Dzeko put Arsenal 2 nil. I brought Gomis on for Bony in the second half but really I had sort of given up on us getting anything. That all changed though with a brilliant 35 yard curler into the top corner from Tom Carrol, the man on loan from Spurs getting a rare start here. This really lifted out spirits and we put arsenal on the back foot and things got even better in the 66th minute when Routledge ran clear and slotted it past Ospina to bring us back level from 2-0 down. Gomis came agonisingly close to getting us the winner as Routledge (who was having a fantastic game) squared the ball past the keeper to give him a free shot on goal but he couldn't find his feet and it trickled past him for a goal kick. This really seemed to kick Arsenal into gear and they assaulted our goal for basically the last 10 minutes and Giroud has a shot come off the inside of the post and trickle across the goal line before being cleared. We thought after that we were sure to hold onto the point but sadly Giroud's scored off the underside of the bar with virtually the last kick off the match and we were cruelly denied what would have been a well deserved point as our search for a win continues.

                    13. (A) 5-0 loss vs Manchester City (Navas 18' 82', Vidal 26', Negredo 45' 71')

Totally outclassed here and it was no surprise that we were beaten by a far superior team here. Navas opened the scoring for the hosts as the ball was crossed in and he headed it past Schmeichel. Vidal doubled their lead in the 26th minute with a powerful shot from just outside the area. Negredo made it 3 just before half time and scored his second midway through the second half, both shots going in off the post. Then ,just to add insult to injury, Nasri passed the ball through to Navas, despite having a perfectly good view on goal, who scored to take the tally to 5. A thorough and merciless display from Man City to dispatch us with ease.

                    14. (H) 2-1 win vs Crystal Palace (Sigurosson 40', Dyer 45') (Chamakh 54')

We finally break our 6 game winless streak with a all around comfortable victory against Crystal Palace. The game started off really dull with nothing much happening and it looked as though it was heading for 0-0 at half time. But was Crystal Palace gave away the ball we stormed through on the counter attack and as Dyer passed the ball to Bony he spotted the run of Sigurosson and his pass found the Icelander and he blasted the ball past Speroni to give us the lead. Bony turned provider once again as he passed the ball to Dyer whose shot took a deflection off Binnom-Williams to give us a 2 goal cushion. We continued our attacking intent after the break but Speroni was able to deny us. Chamakh gave palace some hope when he put the ball past Schmeichel but it proved nothing more than a consolation goal as they barely threatened and we were able to see out the rest of the game with ease to put us back in winning ways.

After some poor performances in the Capital One Cup fixture against a League Two side and league play in the last episode, we try to bounce back with BPL fixtures against Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Stoke City.

There are 3 players in the team who currently have "Has Potential to be Special" as their status. Those players are Stephan McGrandles, Rafeal Lopes (Youth Team Graduates), and Dele Alli (Signed from MK Dons second season).

Éder was signed from SC Braga recently after impressing with my Portugal team that won the Euros this past summer. Victor Wanyama was signed from Southampton to provide a really defensive minded midfielder. I haven't been too impressed with him so far. Xherdan Shaqiri and Fausto Rossi signed on pre contracts and came in on free. Jordan Rossiter was acquired from Liverpool for only £500k.

In the league, the board expects us to finish in a Champions League position. We've gotten off to a slow start with a home draw with Man Utd and a disappointing away defeated at Swansea.

The Europa League almost turned into a disaster before even the group stages. After a 1-1 home draw against Austrian side Wolfsberger AC, we needed two late goals from Timo Werner and Éder to make it through the tie. Despite playing a weaker team, Wolfsberger should have been put to the sword and the tie should have been over in England.

NOTE: It looks like Javier Garrido is on his was to Leicester City.

Any transfer suggestions are greatly appreciated! I'm looking for an experienced centre back right now.

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

Hi guys, been creeping around here the past few days so thought i'd finally make a wee post about my manager mode.

So i'm playing on ps4, always like a challenge instead of going a big team, getting in youngsters, etc.

Decided to start with Real Vallodolid, recently relegated, small amount of cash.

First season in Liga Adelante went ok, got to the Semi Finals of the Copa Del Ray, finished second in the league, board wanted the title and failure to deliver meant little to no money to spend in the off season.

Thankfully there were players who i just didnt take to and wanted rid of, can't remember most of them, main player being my CAM - Oscar, 30+ rated 78 so was my best player, but got 7mil for him.

lack of scouting players in January meant id signed a few duffers (since been released), however signed Leon Kaak from Valencia on a free, great signing for my centre mid.

During my first season, i managed to sign - Ryan Gauld CAM (Sporting Lisbon), Saido Berahino CF (West Brom), Sergi Samper CDM (Barca B), Lewis Macleod CM (Rangers), Harry Kane CF (Spurs)

After gaining promotion i had to work some magic to survive in La Liga, signed Jordi Masip (GK) form Barcelona, Alan hutton (RB) from Aston Villa, Andrew Robertson (LB) from Hull City, Kyle Beckerman (CDM) from Real Salt Lake and Alfred Finbogasson (CF but is playing right wing) from Real Sociedad.

In a surprising turn of events, just passed the January transfer window, i sit atop of la liga, 3 points ahead of both Barcelona and Real Madrid (both on 58 Points). after a draw and my 4th defeat of the season in my last 2 games, i know that the momentum may be slowing down. Gaul has been an absolute beast this season and his real life nickname of 'mini messi' seems to have translated over to Fifa as he sometimes beats players that i would never imagine i could beat with a 71 rated 19 year old. so far in the league he leads the goals with 17 goals, excellent and was hard holding onto him in january, although no teams would meet my 10million expections.

Will proceed with a few more games tonight, hoping mainly for european football and some more money from the board (i unlocked the financial takeover boost, however, it hasnt worked, much to my dismay).

Holding on to my star player Gauld is going to be tough, but again, if he keeps this form up, his value goes up, and if no one meets it, he'll be staying in Vallodolid for the future.

Apart from signing Hutton and Beckerman, who are getting on a bit, I tend to look towards the future and buy in young players (havent signed and youth academy staff yet). if anyone has any good and cheapish recommendations, please, let me know!

if anyone is interested, can keep this updated as i go and take more notes of how i do now that i'm on here!

                            15. (H) 1-4 loss vs QPR (Montero 32') (Austin 37', Vargas 54' 85', Ehmer 90')

An absolutely terrible game from the lads. The game actually started quite promising for us with good possession and a few good chances. Montero opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, his initial shot being blocked before he slotted home past the QPR keeper. Our lead was short lived however as a dangerous QPR counter attack released Austin who weaved through the defenders in the box and drilling a low shot into the far corner. Vargas gave the visitors the lead not long after the restart after a defence splitting pass allowed him to poke the ball into the back of the net. We managed to regain our composure and we looked quite threatening after that but we pushed too many bodies forward and an awful pass from Canas allowed Vargas a free run on goal and he was able to finish the chance with ease past Schmeichel. Ehmer scored from a corner in the 90th minute to cape off an awful showing from us and a dominant display from the London club. This was a real wake up call, especially as QPR were in the relegation zone with only two wins before this and I'm going to have to take a serious look at my defence which quite frankly has been poor all season.

                            16. (A) 0-2 win vs West Ham (Bony 15', Amat 24')

Good response from the team as I made a few changes most notably Amat for Fernandez and Fabianski for Schmeichel. We started off brightly with some good attacking play and Sigurosson crossed in a beautiful ball for Bony to head into a basically empt net. We doubled our advantage just under 10 minutes after when a corner delivered by Montero found the head of Jordi Amat. West Ham almost responded straight away with Valencia but Fabianski closed him down and his shot rippled the side netting. They grew a bit more in confidence after that and Fabianski was called into making another save from an Andy Carrol shot. The game slowed down alot after that and nothing much really happened but thanks to our early goals we managed to hang on for an important 3 points and only our 2nd clean sheet of the season.

                            17. (H) 1-1 draw vs Tottenham Hotspur (Bony 34') (Holtby 17')

A well deserved point against a lively Spurs team. They were dangerous right from the offset and we were lucky not to be 1-0 down in the 8th minute after Amat gave the ball away and Holtby's first time shot went just over the bar. He did score in the 17th minute as Paulinho's header cannoned off the bar and he headed in the rebound. Every time we lost the ball they looked like they were going to score and Holtby headed the ball over the bar again not long after his first goal. It was us who scored next though, really against the run of play as bony blasted the ball past Lloris, picking up an injury in the process which will keep him out for the next 3 weeks. We grew in confidence after this and Lloris was forced into a string of saves including a brilliant fingertip save to deny a powerful volley from Montero just before half time. The second half was really end to end stuff as both teams went for the win but nether of us could score the crucial winning goal although Amat and Canas came close for us and Erikson almost won it for them late on but a fantastic block by Amat allowed us to hold onto the point.

                            18. (H) 2-2 draw vs Aston Villa (Dyer 16', Routledge 52') (Delph 13', Benteke 42')

Not the best of results at home but at this stage we'll take any points we can get. It was an open game to begin with as we had the early pressure but it was Villa who scored first, Delph knocking in a blocked shot from Benteke. We equalised shortly after, Dyer storming through the Villa defence and blasted in the goal from just outside the penalty box. Villa's game-plan seemed to be knocking the ball over the top for Benteke to run onto and this worked out for them with there second goal as he out muscled Fernandez to score. Our shoddy defending was summarised perfectly just before half time when Benteke, despite being marked by 3 defenders, managed to blast a header into the crossbar almost putting us two down. I made a double switch at the back with Byram and Fernandez coming off for Amat and Angel. This made an instant impact and we felt stronger at the back and this newly acquired confidence spread to the rest of the pitch and Sigurosson's header was tipped over the bar which lead to the corner from which we equalised Routledge scoring a header at the far post. Villa didn't even threaten for the rest of the game and we squandered our remaining chances as we played out the draw.

                            19. (A) 1-1 draw vs Liverpool (Assaidi 73') (Montero 90+4')

A thrilling conclusion to the game at Anfield and an explosive final game of 2014. This game came 2 days after the Aston Villa game and because of this most of our squad was tired and not fit to start. I decided to set the team up in a defensive 5-2-3 formation and went for the draw giving starts to players such and Carrol and Bartley. The first half and most of the second half was very very dull as Liverpool tired to break us down and us staying resilient and going on the occasional attack ourselves. The game looked to be going to a drab 0-0 draw but in the 73rd minute, Schmeichel parried a powerful 35yrd shot from Gerrard and Angel was caught napping as Assadi chested the ball down and blasted it past Schmeichel at the near post. As we were one nil down with only 17 minutes the spare I decided to just throw everything at liverpool, switching back to our standard 4-3-3 attacking formation and bringing on Routledge and Sigurosson for Dyer and Shelvey respectively. We battered the liverpool goal with shot after shot but they were all going wide or being blocked and liverpool almost scored on the break but the shot from Sterling was caught by Schmeichel. Knowing we had mere seconds left he launched the ball up the pitch and as Gomis flicked the header on, Sigurosson stormed into the box firing a shot at Mignolet. The Belgium keeper managed to push the ball out but only as far as Montero who squeezed it in at a tight angle to level the game with virtually the last kick of the match. A hard fought for but well deserved point against Liverpool away from home and a great finish to a lacklustre first half of the season.

Our next game will be on the first of January when the transfer window opens and we''ll be looking to hopefully get a LB and a CB, possibly on a pre-contract.

West Ham United - Episode #23: Jenko and Jarvo

In this episode we try to avenge our loss earlier in the season to Stoke City and then head across London to the Emirates to face an in form Arsenal side.

                                20. (A) 1-3 win vs QPR (Faurin 5') (Montero 16', Gomis 17' 61')

The first game of a new year and we hoped to start off 2015 with a win and more importantly avenge the 4-1 drubbing we suffered at the hands of QPR at the Liberty Stadium. The signs didn't look promising early on as Vargas played a brilliant chipped pass through to Faurin who rounded Schmeichel and gave QPR the lead just 5 minutes in. We almost responded instantly but Montero's shot skimmed past the post. However in the 16th minute we would equalise on the counter as Gomis rid the challenges of Faurlin and Suk-Young and passed the ball onto Montero, who took the ball past Caulker and blasted the shot past the QPR goalie. The goal that put us ahead came almost instantly after with Gomis dispossessing the QPR player and running through the whole team before curving the ball into the far corner. Austin came close to equalising for QPR, his first attempt went wide and his second was palmed away by Schmeichel. We really started to grow into the game after the second half though and Gomis, who the QPR defence just could not handle, scored his second of the game with a powerful shot after his initial attempt was blocked. He almost got his hatrick in the 77th minute but his shot was saved as Dyer was ruled offside as he put in the rebound. He was given a second chance as Frey passed the ball straight to him from the free kick but he could only put it into the side netting. A dominant display and an almost like for like reversal of the game at the Liberty stadium just under a month ago as we start off the new year with a bang.

                                21. (A) 2-1 loss vs Hull City (Hernandez 3', Jelavic 55') (Dyer 5')

Yet another disappointing loss to a team in the relegation zone. Hernandez scored early on as we conceded early on once again. This time however we were not behind for long and Dyer showed his importance to the team by taking on the whole team himself before putting the ball past McGregor. The game was quite open ended for a bit after that but there shots went wide and our shots were comfortably dealt with by McGregor. They did take the lead in the 55th minute, there strike partnership working well as Jelavic blasted in a Hernandez pass. We fought desperately for an equaliser but we couldn't really even get a shot off and it was they who had the chances to score but Schmeichel seemed to regain some form to keep us in the game. His efforts were futile however as we slumped to a 7th league loss and our 3rd loss against a team in the relegation zone before the game started.

                                *Transfer News*

Gary Cahill and Hatam Ben Arfa are set to join us next year after agreeing Pre-Contract terms with us.

                                22. (H F.A Cup) 3-2 win vs Aston Villa (Emnes 19', Bony 22', Sung-yueng 50', Fernandez s/o 75') (Sanchez 12', Benteke 44')

A thrilling F.A cup tie between the two premiership sides. I decided to put out a reserve team of youngsters and bench players with Bony being the only first 11 player to start. Villa took the lead early on as Delph passed the ball into the centre for Sanchez to poke in from 3 yards out. It wasn't long before we equalised though, Emnes scoring his first goal for the club from a header as a result of a corner. Our second goal was scored not long after that with Shelvey making a storming run down the left hand side and picking out Bony, who scored his first goal after coming back from injury, his initial shot being saved but he put in the rebound. Villa looked dangerous on the attack and Benteke almost put the visitors back on level pegging with a powerful header which rocketed off the crossbar. He did pull them back level just before half time as a poor goal kick from Fabianski was intercepted by Delph who picked out the pass again and Benteke had the easiest of finishes past our keeper. We looked much stronger after the break and we got a bit lucky as Ki Sung-yueng's shot took a massive deflection off of Westwood and went into the back of the net. Nothing much happened for a while until the 75th minute when Fernandez got himself sent off for a stupid challenge and from the free kick Clark's header grazed the top of the net. We almost sealed the game late on as Clark sat of Bony and allowed him to fire off a shot from distance but it blazed wide. I didn't matter in the end as we held onto the win to progress to the next round of the competition.

                                *Transfer News*

We brought in Victor Wanyama for 2,500,000 on a 5 year deal to help beef up our central midfield. We also sold Angel who was complaining the weather was too bad and ended up going to Aston Villa for 1,500,000, where i'm sure the weather is much better .
