Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Man all this talk about FIFA 15... I'll have to be left behind when you guys move to the new thread. I'm in my 4th season with Wimbledon and still have a long ways to go before winning the BPL. Wouldn't want to leave this career and have to start over in '15. MAYBE if they release Wimbledon's 3rd kit in the new game but I doubt they will since they're a League 2 team. We shall see. In the meantime though, I'll be sticking with '14.
I'm here for ya, I'll be here till about Christmas when I'll be getting 15 with my XB1. Honestly, they do have a different forum for next gen right? When I get my XB1, I'll probably just stay on the LG CM forum instead of the NG forum unless we all have a plan to go to the NG forum and I don't know? Hahah. More or less, it'll be a comp. between forums that we will obviously dominate. Think about it. Their forum currently is at 37 pages. We go through that in like a week. I'm not sure whether to feel bad or good about that, just roll with it. That's about it. Anyone have any other insight on this? BTW, don't you love when Blue Screens come in and take out your notepad so you forget who scored and when? I love it. Shows me why I should write it out on an actual notepad -_-Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Funny how Gornell isn't working for you, and James isn't working as great with me. I'll admit Gornell was a beast for me when he was playing as lone striker but now that I'm using 2 strikers he hasn't had much impact in front of goal... But I'll get more into that in my next update tonight as well as a possible James sale. Is James still starting with you? He was your top scorer in League 2 right?
I like seeing more people trying out the 3-5-2 here. How are you guys using it? Flat midfield, CDM, or CAM?
Also, is that Luke James? If so, 8 games 10 goals 4 assists, my favorite player by far. I plan to buy Gornell because he was perfect against me -_-. James + Gornell is the plan up front running a 4-4-2 for now, may change depending on January and then the next season signings.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Definitely. That's something I will especially take into account for FIFA 15 as well. I will most likely get a top notch scout right in season 1 because I want to get youth players into the career as quickly as possible plus I like running with the original team for most of the first season anyways.Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

Yep that's the one! Luke James, signed him in my 3rd season. If you've been keeping up with my updates, you'll know how the James + Gornell duo has worked out for me. I signed Gornell in my second season, ages ago lol he was my top scorer in the Championship. Currently has the #10 jerseyComment

I might buy '15 late too. Or wait until my birthday in January so my girlfriend will buy it haha Not sure when I'll get PS4. As long as they keep making games for PS3 I see no reason to spend the money on a new console.

For me it seems to be the "Calm Down" celebration, I can see myself doing it in real life I guess. [Is that Orlov rubbing off on me?

Where do I even start? I think Real Sociedad beat life out of me. Wiped away the goal differential I got vs Athletic Bilbao in November and although the team played very well in many of the defeats at the end of the day I played 7 league matches and lost 6. That's really what matters. At this point I first have to make sure I get away from relegation zone and a top 6 finish would be quite the feat.
Real Sociedad dominated me just as the score indicates. Valencia, on the other hand, we dominated and outshot 12-3 (8-2 on goal). Barca deserved the win over us but we played them close and well just like we did against Real Madrid. January just sucked - I had no business losing to Getafe, especially by 3 scores, and the defeats against Atletico and Betis were just frustrating. Atletico scored on their first play but it was a very even game throughout and we couldn't break through. Then we attacked the hell out of our lives vs Betis but nothing would go in and they scored in some of the few chances they had. I hate playing in rain games. With a passion. The only positive seemed like it was going to be my advancement in Copa Del Rey but Espanyol eliminated us in very frustrating fashion, we must have outshot them 25-5 in both games.
Alberto won the GK competition over Navas but Navas is currently our starter. Why? Well here's our activity in this winter transfer window.
TRANSFERS OUT: Jose Miguel (CAM, 70 OVR), short loan to Levante. Carlos Alberto (GK, 65 OVR), short loan to SD Ponferradina. Jose Cruz (CDM, 59 OVR), sold to SønderjyskE for $100K. Francisco Moya (CF, 61 OVR), sold to Kilmarnock FC for $225K. Serran (CB, 67 OVR), sold to FC Utrecht for $160K. Matthias Unnerstall (CDM, 48 OVR), sold to FC Vestsjælland for $25K. Fabiao Pauleta (CAM, 61 OVR), sold to Aarhus GF for $210K.
TRANSFERS IN: Sven Ulreich (GK, N/A), agrees to pre-contract offer of 2 years for $140K in wages with a 5% clean sheet bonus.
So there you have it. Yes Alberto won the competition but we also received a loan offer for him and decided it was better for both him and Navas to get consistent playing time. As I have mentioned before I'm selling any academy products that don't have significant potential which is why Cruz, Moya, Unnerstall, and Pauleta were sold. I still have 31 players currently on the roster not counting the 3 guys on loan. In the end we decided to use our funds to bring back a bonafide GK because one is needed. We're not gonna freak out and sell the farm. We're gonna march forward and break out of this funk. Next season we'll have a new goalie, new RB (South Korean from the academy if he waits until May), new CDM (Carmona or a new signing) and our young roster will be one year older.
Speaking of the youth academy, two more guys asked to be signed: Patrick Sobiech (CDM, 59 OVR) from Germany, and Francisco Catarino (RM, 54 OVR) from Brazil. It's a shame that Catarino asked to be signed so soon because he had some nice potential. Hopefully both of them will get loan offers next season and will be able to develop with other teams. I'm looking for more speed so I sent my two scouts to Netherlands and Cameroon to look for more wingers. In the mean time here's my academy at the moment:
- Badile Salawu (LW, 67-17 OVR, 89-94 POT): Our top prospect is this 16 Y/O kid from Nigeria. We're hopeful he won't request a call up this season but he will see significant minutes right away whenever he gets the call.
- In Sung Jo (RB/RWB, 59-63, 81-87: The fastest prospect in our academy (88 acc, 84-91 speed) is this 16 Y/O from South Korea. He'd be a backup on our roster right now but if he waits in the academy until the end of the season he could end up being the starter at RB next season.
- Maximilian Knoll (CAM, 60-64, 83-89): 17 Y/O kid from Germany who we hope will remain in the academy for the rest of the season. Could be Paredes' sub next season.
- Andre Meirelles (CM, 48-50, 87-93): A recent signing from Brazil earlier this season, this 16 Y/O kid should be ready to contribute in a couple of seasons.
- Juan Morientes (CM, 53-37, 87-93): Similar to Meirelles, this 16 Y/O kid from Spain was found earlier this season and needs to work hard in the academy for a while before he'll be ready to get the call.
- Florian Nickenig (CB, 53-57, 75-81): 16 Y/O from Germany who has spent nearly a year in our academy. We would like to see how he progresses by the end of the season.
- Patricio Estrada (RM, 56-60, 74-80): The oldest member of our academy is this 18 Y/O from Peru. We're in no rush to call him up but we're expecting him to demand a call up any time now.
- Hiroya Imada (CF, 56-60, 74-80: 17 Y/O from Japan has spent a couple of seasons in our academy and we'll accept his demand to be called up whenever he makes it.
- Hiroya Tamazaki (RM/RW, 58-62, 73-79): 17 Y/O from Japan who like Imada has spent his time at the academy.
- Adam Lee (CDM, 54-58, 73-79): 17 Y/O from England with nice height (6'2") but will probably go on loan once he's called up.
- Markus Goretzka (CB, 53-57, 73-79): 16 Y/O from Germany who needs to spend at least another season in the academy.
Go easy on me ....
Oh, and re-signed with Venezuela. Offers from Portugal, Colombia, Spain, Bolivia, and Sweden came but at the end of the day if it wasn't Argentina or USA I just wasn't biting. Colombia was tempting because I won the '14 World Cup with them so looking for a repeat in the upcoming '18 WC would had been nice but I still chose to go back to Venezuela to some unfinished business. I should probably send a scout there soon ...Last edited by vrabbit; 08-15-2014, 08:11 PM.vrabbit

Here's my formation that's been tearing up League 1. I LOVE having the wingback position in mine.
The empty attacker is supposed to be Abel Molinero.
I'm sticking with '14 as well. Not really interested in spending more money for probably minimum improvements to career mode, and plus no Brazilian League is a let down as well.Comment

Press Conference
Q: 30 straight matches unbeaten in all competitions for Morecambe. This is easily the best run in club history. What do you have to say about this historical run you are on?
A: There's no match that we feel we can't win, and we make sure to take show that belief on the pitch. The confidence in the locker room is at an all time high, and we don't want to come down from it any time soon. We want to carry this on for as long as possible.
Q: Your cup runs have extended with a win in the F.A. Cup as well as first leg victory in semi-finals of the J. Paint Trophy. What do you feel your chances are in each competition?
A: We are very excited to be so close to the final for the J. Paint trophy. We feel that we have a great chance at bringing home that trophy with our current run of form. The F.A. Cup is a bigger challenge with our next match against Premier League giants Manchester City. We are going to give it our best shot and try to play the match of our lives.
Q: Your youth academy seems to have hit another success with George Humphreys. He became the youngest ever goal scorer for Morecambe F.C. this month with his strike at only 16 years of age. How important of an emphasis have you put on the youth development since taking over here?
A: The academy is absolutely vital to a club's success. We want to raise Morecambe players, who will play the Morecambe way. There is no better way to do that than to bring them up yourself. I am proud of the success we have accomplished with the academy so far, and I know that our youth staff will bring us many more as we move forward. I am excited about the future we have established with these youngsters.
