Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@OkDoei - heck of a start to the season! Have a good feeling that Icardi is going to score lots and lots of goals in the BPL. Rabiot for 9m is sound business too.

@Simppu12 - glad to see that the Hertha CM is back. One of my favorites on this thread for sure, and the Bundesliga licensing this year must make it even better for you. Leroy Sane seems to be a verrrrry popular buy in this year's game so looking forward to following his progress.

@LukeWhu94 - great start to the season for you too! Payet is such a baller.

@Lethalfish - love to see a new long-term CM like this one. Luton Town will be fun for you and equally as fun for all of us to see your climb through English football.

Barton played the ball to Naismith overlapping down the right wing and he sent a cross into the middle and found Roberts for a well placed header back into the top right corner. The referee whistled for a penalty after it looked like the Portsmouth player committed more of a foul than the Cambridge player, but Tubbs converted all the same into the top left corner and Portsmouth walked away with a controversial win.

Thanks, man, it means alot! Yes, the Bundesliga licensing is an amazing little detail that makes it much more enjoyable! On top of that EA have added a couple of Hertha's chants into the game and it's great to hear them while playing. Sané has gone up by one overall in the first two months by I plan to loan him out because he's not impressing me too much.

You have a good signing in Sane, should have some amazing potential and I would say you got him for a decent price as well.
A bit of a mixed start to the season but bounced back well from the opening day defeat and got a good draw at Dortmund. What is your aim for the season? I look forward to the next update.
Schieber also didn't suit my playing style that well and selling him pretty much doubled my budget so it was a win-win situation. The objectives that were given to me were to achieve a midtable finish and to reach the round of 32 in the cup. My own aim for the league is to finish in a higher midtable finish between seventh and tenth.

Interesting signings! Espescially the signing of Sané. Suprising to see how you got a promising talent to sign for Herta BSC. He'll do just fine for you, I'm sure of that You smashed that pre-season tournament and you made a decent start in the BuLi. Looks like a promising season!
Not sure if hating on the mighty Hertha haha We managed to sign Niklas Stark and Mitchell Weiser in real life and both of them have a bright future ahead of them. Both of them are also starters right now (due to injuries but still).

I agree with both you and Jamie to a certain point. Like him, I think that this is the best FIFA in a few years and it finally doesn't have something way overpowered in it, like pace or headers. Then again, I agree with you on the claim that dribbling is very challenging. Even players like Modric, Isco and Iniesta feel sluggish and slow when you turn with them. I disagree about long shots being terrible, though. In my opinion they are easier to score than last year. I also agree that pace is nerfed too much. You should be able to get past Ivanovic or Lambert with the likes of Bellerin, Walcott or Bale like they would do in real life.

Referee favouring the opposition? I don't know. Sometimes it feels like it but sometimes it doesn't feel like it at all. I will say that there are way too many handball penalty calls and I'm thinking about turning handballs off for penalties because of that. I have had seven penalty calls for me and against me in five games now with 85 per cent of them coming from handballs.

Scripting when losing? I wouldn't call it scripting, I'd call it the park the bus mechanic that is extremely annoying to play against. It's also realistic, though. In real life, Hertha started to waste time around the 70th minute against Köln while leading 1-0.

Overall those were great couple of months! Wins against Chelsea and Man United are impressive. Scoring seems to be an issue for you, as well. Cazorla and Icardi did a solid job, though.

That was a perfect beginning to the season! You were scoring goals and not letting many goals in. Being second in the league and going strong in the cup is also good. Noble, Payet and Adrian have looked very good so far.

You are having a tough time so far. It feels very unnatural to see you in higher midtable instead of the top four. Shame about getting knocked out of the cups in the first rounds but you aren't the only one. Scoring seems to be a problem for many of us and I'm certain that it's just a matter of getting used to the new game.

              Ha Ho He

              September 2015

              Hertha BSC 1 - 0 VfB Stuttgart
              Haraguchi 52'

We started September off with another one-goal game and with another clean sheet. Once again neither team created that many chances and only a single goal was scored. That goal was a beautiful backheel shot by Genki Haraguchi from Vedad Ibisevic's pass.

              VfL Wolfsburg 2 - 0 Hertha BSC
              Kruse 42', 69'

We travelled to Wolfsburg looking to get a point out of last year's second-placed VfL Wolfsburg. Things were going well for us until the 42nd minute when Max Kruse caught Thomas Kraft too far out of his goal and shot the ball over him from about twenty yards out. We then tried to equalise but in the 69th minute Kruse ended our hopes of a draw by netting a brace with a very clinical finish into the bottom right corner of the net.

              Hertha BSC 1 - 0 FC Köln
              Haraguchi 6'

Our poor attacking play and good defensive play continued in this home win against Köln. The only goal of the game was scored again by Genki Haraguchi to finish a nice passing play. The ball was played around our attacking third before Per Ciljan Skjelbred played a through ball into the box. Haraguchi reached it first and curled the ball around Timo Horn in goal. In the final minutes of the game Köln had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot but Rune Jarstein managed to save the penalty.

              Eintracht Frankfurt 1 - 2 Hertha BSC
              Castaignos 9'
              Kalou 82', Ibisevic 87'

This was our second-best performance of the season after the 3-0 win against Werder Bremen. The game didn't start off well, though, as Frankfurt took the lead thanks to Luc Castaignos' shot into the bottom left corner after dribbling through our centre backs. We then chased the equaliser but it wasn't looking good for us as the final ten minutes of the game begun. Then Salomon Kalou broke through Frankfurt's defence and shot the ball into the top right corner of the net past their keeper to equalise. Only five minutes later Genki Haraguchi dribbled into the box and took a shot that got parried by the keeper. Vedad Ibisevic reached it first and headed the ball into the net to secure the three points!

              Player of the Month

              Genki Haraguchi

No Hertha player shined more than anyone else in September but Genki Haraguchi was the man who scored half of Hertha's goals and created a third one in the month. Other than that the speedy winger didn't have that good of a month.

              Bundesliga Table

              1. FC Schalke 04, 17 pts
              2. Bayern München, 16 pts

              4. VfL Wolfsburg, 14 pts

              6. Hertha BSC, 13 pts

              16. FC Ingolstadt, 6 pts
              17. Eintracht Frankfurt, 3 pts
              18. SV Darmstadt, 1 pt

No, not hating on Herta It's just a surprise. Schalke plays in the Champions League and ends up in the top 5 every year. Herta BSC is a suprising step for Sané, but he'll get plenty of gametime at your club. I hope that he'll grow into a world class player!

28th December 2015 - BREAKING NEWS - Dimitryi Payet and Adrian have signed contract extensions with the club which sees
their contracts increase to £100,000 and £80,000 respectively. This is great news for the club as both players have been
integral to the early success the club have had so far this season.

The fan favourite has been in fine form this season and his form is one of the main reasons why we are so high in the league at the moment. We haven't been the best of form of late but Adrian's form has kept us in games and given use the opportunity to take all 3 points from a lot of games this season and we are lucky to have tied him down for another year otherwise he would have been walking away for nothing at the end of the season.

                    Payet West Ham.jpg
Dimitri Payet 4 goals 2 assists
Payet has been phenomenal this season and at times has been unplayable. He has created so many chances and should be on more assists was it not from the poor finishing from our strikers this season. He is like a little magician who can do things with the ball that no other players can. He has changed games on his own at times this season and is an integral part of the clubs future and I just hope we are able to keep hold of him. He was rewarded with a new deal which sees his wage increase from £60,000 to £100,000 and we will be looking to build the team around him in the future. He has showed real technical ability this season and a highlight would have to be the goal against Swansea, were he curled a free kick into the top right hand corner to set us on the way to victory. Hopefully he can build on his successful start and have a good run for the end of the season.

                    Manager's Thought's
The League - Our form in the Premier League as of late has been a bit inconsistent. We couldn't build up any real momentum with losses to Tottenham and Southampton although we managed to get a good draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford and probably should have come away with all 3 points. Scoring goals has been a bit of a problem at the moment with us averaging just the single goal a game in our last 9 games which is an extremly poor record but had it not been for the defence we could be in trouble at the moment. Now in January I may have to adress this issue and look to bring someone in who can hit the ground running because the strikers I have at the moment just cannot find the net, with Enner Valencia,Diafra Sakho & Andy Carroll only scoring 9 goals between them in the league. However with that being said, after 19 games we find ourselves in a good position at the moment in 4th spot, 6 points above Everton in 5th and 7 points above Manchster Utd in 6th but in order to stay there or even move higher we need to sort our form out and get a consistent run of wins together.

The Cup - When the draw was made for the Capital One Cup Quarter Final I knew it was going to be a tough game, you expect that when playing Chelsea. I needed all my players in top form and sadly the majority of them let me down in this one. We didn't really pose a threat going forward and at the back an individual error gifted Chelsea the goal that decided the game and allowed them to progress to the Semi Finals after a 1-0 victory. We had a strong team out and were aiming for the final but it just wasn't to be this year but overall the Quarter Finals is good progress in my first season and hopefully we can build on it next season. The FA Cup hasn't started the way we had hoped after a 1-1 draw with Southampton means that we have a replay at St.Mary's which I was hoping to avoid. I was impressed with the performance though, with a lot of the younger players getting the chance to impress in this one and they really did with 18 year old Martin Samuelson putting us 1-0 up with a neatly taken finish only for Graziano Pelle to equalise and take it to a replay which is due to be played in a couple of days time. I will continue with the same team and hopefully we can get the result.

Transfers - We are currently in January whihc means the winter transfer window has opened. With a strong squad at my disposal already I will not be dipping into the market for the sake of it so it has to be for the right player. I will definitely be on the lookout for any promising talent as I will be hoping to give the younger players a lot more of a chance next season so should any come available, I will not hesitate to buy them. In terms of targets I'm stumped, I don't have a clue who I will be signing but I will definitely try to bring someone in though. On paper the strike force of Valencia, Sakho, Carroll and Jelavic should be scoring goals so I'm not sure whether to give them until the end of the season or buy/loan a striker in to try and fix the problem. There is £34,000,000 to spend so the funds are available should the right player become available.

OkDoei's Arsenal FC Career Mode. Season 1.

I’ve played all the games until the 1st of january. So we’re entering the winter transfer window soon! Let’s see how Arsenal handled the games.

                        Arsenal 3 – 2 PSV
                        (Champion’s League group stage)

                        37’ Koscielny 1 – 0
                        49’ Icardi 2 – 0
                        62’ Alexis 3 – 0
                        84’ De Jong 3 – 1
                        90+’ Pereiro 3 – 2

                        Match Report:

..No words for those last 10 minutes. Unbelievable. We dominated PSV at our home turf, we outplayed them in every corner of the field. We dominated every statistic and the scoreline showed it. Icardi scoring again, he’s giving me things to think about. Giroud is still the starting striker, but Icardi is knocking on the door. I’m going to analyse the last 10 minutes and we will make sure that this never happens again.

                        Norwich 0 – 0 Arsenal

                        42’ Gibbs red card

                        Match Report:

Very dull match. Boring and both teams had trouble creating changes. We played 50 minutes with 10 men and we weren’t strong enough to create anything serious. Gibbs wasn’t smart with his direct red card, because I was slowly preferring him over Monreal.

                        Arsenal 1 – 2 Sunderland

                        7’ Johnson 0 – 1
                        62’ Lens 0 – 2
                        83’ Santi Cazorla 1 – 2

                        Match Report:

No words for this terrible loss. Just shameful. We lost at our home turf to Sunderland, which simply should not happen. Too many things went wrong for us, too many things went just right for them. We need to recover from this blow and regain our winning form.

                        Olympiakos 1 – 0 Arsenal
                        (Champion’s league group stage)

                        23’ Cambiasso 1 – 0 (Penalty Kick)

                        Match Report:

So this was not what I meant when I said that we need to regain our winning form. We’ve lost the last match in the group stage of the Champion’s League. We really need to shake this poor form off us and start creating changes again.

                        Aston Villa 1 – 5 Arsenal

                        5’ Ramsey 0 – 1
                        31’ Amavi 1 – 1
                        38’ Icardi 1 – 2
                        58’ Özil 1 – 3
                        64’ Walcott 1 – 4
                        85’ Icardi 1 – 5

                        Match Report:

Now this is what I was talking about! We bounced back in perfect style. Shame about losing the clean sheet, but we were brilliant going forward. Icardi scored another brace, he’s really challenging Giroud. This match was perfect, now we need to maintain this winning form.

                        Luton Town 1 – 2 Arsenal
                        (Capital One Cup)
                        Simulated

                        Arsenal 1 – 0 Manchester City

                        41’ Giroud 1 – 0

                        Match Report:

Wow, what an exciting match! The scoreline does not represent the match, this was the most intense match that we’ve had so far this season. Giroud broke the dead lock at the end of the first half, after a beautiful cross from the Ox. Massive 3 points, and yet another clean sheet.

                        Southampton 1 – 1 Arsenal

                        51’ Gibbs 1 – 0 (O.G.)
                        89’ Santi Cazorla 1 – 1 (Penalty Kick)

                        Match Report:

We were nowhere our recent form tonight. Southampton were excellent at their home turf and they really showed us how weak we can be defensively. Gibbs had a nightmare. We could not create any change in the first 70 minutes, Southampton got us all over the place. I’m happy that we got anything out of this game. We were lucky with the given penalty, and Cazorla finished in style. We need to move on quickly.

                        Arsenal 2 – 0 Bournemouth

                        5’ Giroud 1 – 0
                        60’ Giroud 2 – 0

                        Match Report:

Giroud responded to Icardi’s scoring form in an excellent way. Icardi was bit tired so Giroud played this match to show us why he should be the first striker, and he did very well. His brace gave us the deserved 3 points. Nothing else to say, we were dominant and defended well.

                        Thoughts about winter transfer period:
So that’s that guys, we have arrived at the 1st of January. I’ll finish the winter transfer window tonight or tomorrow so we can move on with the season. I'm thinking about selling Wilshere. He's terrible for me, and he's not growing at all. I prefer Ramsey and even Coquelin over him. What should I do with him?

Summary of the season so far:

Player who impressed the most: Petr Cech was excellent in every game. He kept our goal clean for so many games and he gave the defence the confidence that they needed. What a signing!

Player who disappointed the most: Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez. Both don’t feel right ingame, and I struggled to play with both of them. Alexis hasen’t scored in the BPL after 17 games. He did score 3 goals in 4 Champion’s league games. Özil barely assists anyone. He did score a few, but I really hope that both of those players step their game up in the second half of this season.

Player who surprised me the most: Jairo Riedewald. He’s growing very fast. An absolute steal for just 8 million Euro’s. He’s so solid defensively. He’s multi-functional as well, having played as LB, CDM, and CB. He’s tall and strong, and has a decent sliding tackle. But what makes him stand out is his passing ability. He guides the ball with pin point accuracy. Excellent player!

I’ve added some pictures of the first team squad and some lists, including the BPL table:

                          January Transfers
                          Transfers Out:
I was looking to offload any players yet, if we received any substantial offers then players would have been moving on but there was none. I'm still not sure who I wanna keep but I should no by next season so expect departures then

                          Transfers In:
                          C.Austin - 26y ?ovr - ST - QPR - £0 - Pre Contract

                          Demarai Gray - 19y 68ovr - LM - Birmingham - Season Loan - Future Fee: £2,000,000

We certainty were not the biggest spenders but I wasn't really looking to bring in a big name in this window. I was happy with the squad that I had and saw these players as investments for the future and I feel that I got really good deals on all of them. The signing of Ceballos in particular was a real bargain and we had to compete with Real Madrid to sign him but luckily he opted to join us instead.

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I know I said I was going to wait and buy the Mexico version of FIFA 16, but I totally caved last night and went out to buy it. I just didn't feel like waiting for a day off to go to Mexico and buy it. Not to mention there may have also been some price differences. I've never bought a video game in Mexico so I don't know how much they go for over there. So, even though I am a bit disappointed every time I pick up the box and see Messi with Morgan, I finally have FIFA 16 [emoji16]

I haven't played career mode yet, I've only played a handful of kick-off matches but I must say I really like the gameplay. It is definitely different, but I wouldn't say broken like in the earlier discussion about the gameplay. One thing that I've been very unhappy about though, is that in this year's game the "pace control" button, which is also the button to shield the ball, is now also the button to make fancy passes. I use pace control and shielding A LOT, so at first I couldn't figure out why my players kept on showing off with their short passes and frankly it was annoying the crap out of me. Especially when the opposition would intercept a weak pass because my player wanted to show off. Then I figured it out, and I went through the settings hoping to change it but I haven't been able to do it. Thing is, I tend to pass the ball up to my striker and I'll use the L2 (pace control; PS4) button to shield the opponent and then take a first touch pass to a nearby midfielder. Now since L2 is also the button to make fancy passes, my striker will try to pull off a fancy pass while shielding and in most cases ends up losing the ball. Last year R2 was the button to make fancy passes and I always enjoyed making them when appropriate, but R2 is now the button to make driven passes which is a nice addition. So believe it or not that is actually my biggest complaint at the moment. A very minor issue, which can be resolved by simply getting the hang of letting go of L2 at the exact moment so that my player will shield the ball and then make a regular pass, and also in the scenario that I have a player doing close dribbling and I want to just make a regular pass. I'll get used to it eventually.

I'm glad you can't just sprint past opponents anymore. When you do, you really have to make a decision quick (much like in real life) and you really have to analyze the defender chasing you to determine if you can take another long touch and keep sprinting or maybe it's time to cut back and pass. I haven't felt like if my players dribbling are sluggish at all yet and I must say the animations are quite nice when you beat an opponent or get tackled. Do I win every 1 on 1? Heck no. But nobody does in real life either. It's nice that you can't just dribble past everybody and you have to find openings a different way.

I'm looking forward to starting a career, and of course it will be with Guadalajara in case you hadn't figured it out yet lol great to see some Brazilian teams back in the game, so before I start the career I'll probably swap the best Brazilian clubs for the worst clubs in Colombia and Chile so that they'll have a chance of making it to the Copa LatAm or whatever FIFA is calling the Copa Libertadores this year. Can't wait to mess around with the new player training feature. One thing I've hated on previous FIFAs is the rate that your older players decrease in stats. I'm hoping I can use the player training to counter that to some extent. Do you guys do the training drills yourselves or sim past most of them?

I haven't won a match on World Class yet despite playing Legendary on 15, but I don't mind taking the time to adjust. Oh and get this, in my first kick-off match the game ran a test to see which difficulty would suit me best. I ended up winning the match 3-0 and then the game tells me that the test results indicate Professional is the difficulty I should be playing at. I felt offended and scoffed at first, but then again I haven't won any kick-off match on world class yet so they may have been on to something haha once I start a career I'm planning on playing a preseason tournament on world class and once the season starts I'll bump up to Legendary and see how it goes. Man can't wait to get off work!

Roberts crossed the ball in from the right wing and curled it around the defense to meet McGurk who's shot was saved but it fell to Doyle running in and he powered it into the goal. Naismith cut the ball around the defender to cut inside form the right wing and he fired a shot off the left post and in. Henderon sent a corner in from the left and found Kessie on the near post and he directed the ball over the keeper and into the right side of the goal.

Coulson cut the ball in from the left wing and beat two defenders before slotting it past the keeper into the far post. McGurk got the ball through on the counter and held the defender off on his back as he beat the keeper inside the right post.
