You mean those runs where we press RB/R1 and move right analog stick to any direction to change where the player goes? Or the one we press A/X to pass and immediately select a direction also with right analog stick to make the first player run? Or both?

On Xbox Series X it's working when passing. Did it yesterday. The other run feature I honestly didn't use it yet, need to test.

Anyway, the thing is, I'm 99,9% sure sliders settings aren't able to make any feature stop working. It's not related to game commands.

I'm pretty sure its L1 + Right Analog Stick but yes, that is the one I'm referring to. For me its not working and I'm not sure whether its slider related or if its a broken feature of the game on PS5.

Edit: I can confirm that this feature is working and is not slider related. What you have to do is hit L1/LB THEN wait for the player to run before hitting the right analog stick; if you hit the right analog stick in advance it will not work.

It was on slow.



We made this change on Version 4 as well because the way the CPU played on 40 and the user's deep defensive line. I will revisit the pass speed at some point, but if deep defensive line remains, it's going to be a challenge.



There's going to be a lot of variety in both departments. Teams that start fast will eventually run out of gas as expected. The team tactics are the king here as run frequency is a significant value in bringing it all together.

Thanks Matt, so do you suggest use SLOW over NORMAL for Legendary? Actually, what's the main differences, like pros and cons? Alright to share some more for my learning or others to learn more so can pick the right option for oneself?

Thanks for this it’s been driving me crazy players not running where I want them to! I’ve been using R1 a lot more too, it’s great for creating spaces to play/run in to.

Can anyone confirm whether CPU shot error affects their ability at taking penalties? Just watching Matt’s most recent video with the V5 set again and I don’t know if Matt is just great at saving pens or if the CPU are terrible at them on higher shot error. The CPU didn’t score a single pen in that shootout in Matt’s recent vid.

CPU pens are generally too easy to read, if they’re looking right before the run up then they usually kick it left and vice versa.

I’ve found the same when taking pens, I find them harder to score than they should be.

Yeah, but does CPU shot error also increase the likelihood the CPU will blast them wide or over? Matt made some good saves in the video but some of the CPU pens went high or wide.

If USER scored 1-0 against CPU say at around 70mins of the game, DOES CPU NOTICE THEY ARE BEHIND AND SHOW IN THEIR GAMEPLAY TO SCORE AND WANT TO COME BACK? This to me is a game breaker, because Matt sliders can become perfect (is so good already), and it is so good when USER has not scored yet or CPU scored first (ususally this happens to me and is me to try to come back), then there is no problem, but the situation I mentioned, it happened before and I can pass the ball around for like 20mins, CPU IS LIKE ABSOLUTELY DUMB, JUST WATCH ME PASS AT THE BACK!

Sorry for the CAPS, just want to make my point stands out from my not very good Eng. Thank you.

Hi Guys,

Been a fan of all the hard work for a while and this year is no exception. Really enjoying the game and to be honest think its better than what we have got out of the box for a while.

Question to some of the lads who in the know and apologies if these have been already answered.

Sliders seem to work great however are people having the issue where when you go out wide your striker will run in behind and not be tracked at all allowing a simple cross to result in a very easy chance on goal. Is this a fatigue thing from the CPU or just a problem in general? Is it also made worse by the sliders?

Secondly just from peoples playing experience have many people been seeing many finesse shots from the CPU? Im loving the crossing and shooting from all ranged this year but it would appear every shot the CPU tries to smash the hell out of it!

Again thanks for all the hard work and hopefully I can contribute in some way!

Enjoying the new set very much. 3 league games and one cup one and every game it’s a new story. I feel these sliders allow the tactics to show and I love it so every team has its own identity

Have you started a new career after the latest roster update? Before the update all 5 team sheets had small differences. I am starting a new career today for this reason to see how it works.

I am having the best experience I have ever had with a FIFA game on v5. This game is so good at its roots, and for me Matt has “unlocked” the game with this set. I am on series X, normal speed and only change is AI pass speed at 35 instead of 30. I am willing to live with occasional unrealistic passing in exchange for some great passing moves by AI. I am Southampton, started new CM with this set. Results so far: 2-2 at Everton, 1-0 win home v Man U, 3-2 over Gillingham in Carabao cup, 2-1 loss at Newcastle, 1-0 win home v West Ham. Each game feels different. Getting much better splits of possession and shots as well. I have seen some animations I had not previously seen, mostly in 50/50 balls and physicality situations. Just fantastic.

I still really struggle with the 52 pass error in this slider set. I'm playing in the MLS, and the AI with 52 pass error just rarely makes a bad pass.

Then increase it.

I am realizing I am NOT good at FIFA on next gen lol.

I am REALLY struggling with Arsenal on WC.

Problem is I tried same matchup on professional and it was a tad too easy. Will keep at it..

World Class or Legendary?

I am on WC. Last couple years I played on Legemdary, but I was getting absolutely killed so switched to WC and it has been much better for me with appropriate results.
