Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Still find big defensive gaps from my previous setting so I have make some adjustments again. Played about 10 games using these settings and I find that the cpu defense is much better now. Gap between defenders is not so wide anymore and the Midfielders are more willing to come into the penalty box when I'm attacking.
Ultimate Mode, normal speed, competitor mode off
For CPU
Sprint Speed 53
Acceleration 48
Shot error 60
Pass error 52
Shot speed 52
Pass speed 40
goalkeeper ability 80
marking 80 (to counter the recent live tuning)
line height 45 (switch it back to 45 from my previous setting of 35)
line length from 30 to 20 (this will make the Midfielders defend better)
line width from 40 to 30 (to reduce the wide gap between the cpu defenders)
First touch error 100
For User
Sprint Speed 53
Acceleration 48
Shot error 60
Pass error 52
Shot speed 52
Pass speed 40
goalkeeper ability 70
marking 70
line height 45
line length 18
line width 32
First touch error 100
Managed to bring the cpu Midfielders back inside the penalty box when I'm attacking inside the box.
The attackers will press higher on my defenders when I'm playing from the back.
The CPU attack is more smooth, scoring some really nice goals against me.
The CPU defenders and Midfielders are defending better with this setting.
Thanks for trying out my previous HLW slider setting. I have come out with some new slider setting so please try them and let me know how it goes for you guys
Ultimate Mode
Slow Speed
10 mins per half
Sprint Speed - User 54/CPU 54 (It is necessary to counter CB jockey as mentioned by a fellow user here)
Acceleration- User 50/ CPU 50 (48 and 49 is pretty good for the pacing of the game but less stamina depletion. At 50, I find that CPU defenders are more responsive though. 49 is the sweet spot if you want the best of both world)
Shot Error - 60/60 (If you want it to be more realistic, can try 70/70 or 60/70)
Pass Error - User 60/ CPU 58 (I have tried 59/59 for a long time and it is really good but if you want more challenge then you can go for 60/58)
Shot Speed 52/52 as recommended by Matt
Pass Speed 45/45 (Can feel free to lower the value if you find the game play too fast)
Run Frequency 50/50 (Less tiki taka from CPU, more variety of attacks from CPU, please note that this should go hand in hand with the following HLW setting)
Line Height User 45/CPU 50 (Hated the fact that CPU will fail to press high when they are trailing, User can just pass sideways to waste time. Putting the CPU at 50 will make playing out from the back more challenging and make the CPU attack more aggressive as well)
Line Length User 40/CPU 45 (anything higher than 45 for CPU will result in too much space for User to make through ball)
Line Width 50/50 (Good balance of crossing and shooting from outside the box from CPU. If width is higher than 50, CPU will tend to cross more with less attack in though the middle. Setting at 50/50 will see more variety of attack from different teams depending on their formation)
Fullback Positioning 50/50
Marking User 65/68 (68 for CPU is really good because if marking is set at too high, it is easier to draw the defenders out of their position resulting in more opening to make through balls for your pacey attackers)
Goalkeeper ability 70/70 (If you are sick of letting in near post goals or scoring too many easy goals, go for 70! It will also make 1 on 1 with the keeper more unpredictable.
First Touch Error User 75/ CPU 65 (Used to play at 100/100 for a long time but CPU will make alot of wrong decisions when they are attacking. 75 is necessary for User because anything lower will make it too easy and unrealistic, 65 for CPU is necessary if you want element of surprise from their attack)Last edited by jtbatcave; 04-25-2022, 09:15 AM.Comment

Interesting. Any reason why you abandoned the HLW settings from before? Also, those are quite big changes from your previous set, I'm guessing you weren't enjoying it? I'm trying your sliders now, but with some OS V8 values still there. I have abandoned your previous HLW values as I just felt it made the game a little boring, and I was defending without any worries which felt a little easy. I also felt the width especially was too narrow, everything felt a little cramped.Last edited by Gee_Simpson; 04-25-2022, 01:24 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
With goalkeepers so high you could find some very weird animations & diving to early. Remember what Matt has said in the past about goalkeeper sliders being too high or low.

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Xbox Series X - 15 Minutes Halves - Full Manual Controls - World Class - Slow Speed
After testing pass speed this weekend, I noticed -5 for both is too aggressive and a lot of pass errors from the CPU will happen. Sometimes excessively. Not that I didn't like how slower the game was, but using -4 is much better.
So, in instead of 37/29 I am now using 36/28. Will upload some videos later. The CPU will still do some fast plays, but at least they are more realistic and not totally like "cheating". Also, it's absolutely great that they will commit more mistakes and it seems much more fair when we are using manual controls!
By the way, I honestly can't imagine how CPU will play using 45, as you are testing now. The pinball madness will be just like FIFA Ultimate Team gameplay. And for manual controls it will be pretty much unfair to play against.
Edit: Chelsea ball possession was about 60-65 percent, sometimes 68-70 during the match. Of course, I was observing them passing the ball to test here and there, so wasn't playing like usually, but their were attacking pretty much efficiently and scoring without issues.Last edited by DoctorActionRio; 04-25-2022, 10:46 PM.Comment

Definitely I wasn't experiencing CPU attacks nerfed with those values! Are you using assisted controls or also manual? To be honest, I lost a game to Chelsea by 4 x 0 this weekend using World Class difficulty, before testing slower pass speed.

Also when I am defending. I do not look at the CPU player's feet. My eyes will be looking at the space I need to cover such as the passing lane, I will press and hold the pressure button to get close enough to them then release it to manual control and defend against the player by moving the left stick, jockey and sprint only when it is necessary. Sometimes I will remain stationery (once I cover their attacking space) the CPU player will just run into me or pass the ball to me. You can also try to use double press but it only works for me in the first few games against the CPU. The AI will learn and become very good against my double press and pull away my player and find space to pass the ball out. I will then go back to manual defence when double press doesn't work.Last edited by jtbatcave; 04-26-2022, 12:29 AM.Comment

Is ultimate difficulty still kind of broken this year? I switched from legendary to ultimate and I’m kind of feeling like it’s actually gotten easier…

Nowadays people say it is easy. I suggest trying manual controls in instead of trying to find an "unbeatable" CPU experience.
And don't expect EA will do something, unless destroying what's not broken.
Xbox Series X - 15 Minutes Halves - Full Manual Controls - World Class - Slow Speed
Well, here we go again!
First of all, I suppose most people here watched yesterday's epic Manchester City 4 x 3 Real Madrid match, or at least the highlights, right? The outstanding speed and intensity, in my humble opinion, totally supports how 54 Sprint Speed and 48 Acceleration can still be "perfectly" realistic.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/etz7BFT7z3U" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I do know (and even agree) that lower values will make possible better animations/movements because, in the end, this is FIFA, with its own old bizarre engine. So, it will be more pleasant to see/watch, but in terms of gameplay, real world professionals are each day more and more (insanely) faster.
Now, my recent tests.
Based on jtbatcave recent findings, I borrowed his Marking, Height, Lenght and Width values because even though I was enjoying the gameplay, it was really possible to "exploit" through balls constantly when using 75 for Marking.
Other values, like Pass Speed and First Touch Control Error, I really can't change. Mainly because of manual controls. CPU will pass so perfectly and the ball will be glued like magnet. But I understand he plays using Ultimate and assisted controls, so this is why my values can be easier for others.
Based on World Class Version 8 sliders set, this is what I changed:
- Sprint Speed 54/54 and Acceleration 48/48, as before. Why? Can't play with centre back jockey issue, because I will ALWAYS exploit it and score.
- No changes for Shot/Pass Error and Shot Speed.
- Pass Speed 36/28. Yes, decreasing -4 feels even better than -3. Again, why? After the second live tuning update, Matt said here that it was like a +3 increase. Now, after these latest patches, CPU is passing even faster! I noticed they will play much more dynamically and commit more mistakes using -4. It's superb! Like they are also using manual controls in instead of assisted or even like we are playing offline with someone also without assists. Much more realistic!
- No changes for Goalkeeper Ability. They are absolutely fine here and I can't imagine they being even more tough on 1 vs 1 situations. Again, I'm on manual controls. Also, there will be a huge chance of seeing bizarre animations even with a slightest difference, like stated by Matt so many times.
- Marking 65/68, Run Frequency 50/50, Line Height 45/50, Line Length 40/45 and Line Width 50/50. Recommended by jtbatcave. Hoping to not be able to benefit so much from through balls, like he said.
- No changes for Fullback Positioning.
- First Touch Control Error 88/88, as before. Some months ago, Matt said here that 100/100 was good for the gameplay, as we were discussing this here. I remember testing this a lot and, even though I liked how unpredictable was the game, I ended with 88/88 because even five star players would randomly commit bizarre mistakes, like simply "forced by the game algorithm". Lower values than 85/85 will make the game feel like a multiplayer session madness where the ball is perfectly passed and simply stick to their feet!
Some clips:
These two synthesize how sufficiently fast the CPU will still pass the ball, but at least in a way more realistic way:

Here we can see how the speed is absolutely realistic compared to real life matches, like Vinícius Jr. recent goal against Manchester City, and also how the goalkeeper is OK:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ySl1wBjNe_k" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Again, CPU tiki taka still normally happening, but not in the speed of light!

Finally, great physycal disputes! The game is much less "mechanical" and the ball is much more alive!
