Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I started a new save with Millwall as well.

In my 1st season the main goal was to avoid relegation. We finished 3rd with 78pts behind Birmingham and Blackpool. We hammered Leicester 7-1 on aggregate than lost to Brighton in the playoff Championship 2-1.

For me John Marquis-CF was our main goal threat with 19 followed by Mkandawire-CB with 10. He was a beast on corners.

Injuries hit us hard so I was pleasantly surprised at how well we did. I lost 6 players for 4-6 month stretches and Darren Ward-CB was lost for 9 months. Torn calf muscles were the injuries of choice!

For season 2, the board gave me 2.3M for transfers, 150K p/w in wages, and agreed to upgrade our youth facilities. I've added 2 MF's with better decision making traits and depth with some young ST's, MF's, and Def's to bolster the reserves and grow for the future.

The odds makers have us at 33-1 to make at the least the playoffs! Not much respect! See what happens in year 2!

Year three of the online save begins tomorrow night (well, Tim's Bayern Munich season has already begun since they start early in Germany), and here's the Arsenal team I've put together:

      STARTERS:
Van Persie, Rossi, Hazard, Gotze, Kroos, Hamsik, Van der Wiel, Kompany, Vermaelen, Sagna, Sczcesny.

BENCH/B Team: Chamakh, Walcott, Gervinho, Ramsey, Song, De Jong, Baines, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Demirel.

OUT ON LOAN: Wilshere, Kadlec, Kovacic, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I had to give up my supersub Sigurdsson to Tim in the deal bringing in Toni Kroos, and Sigurdsson is already scoring bombs and was player of the week, so we'll see whether or not I come to regret that transfer.

Also, Man City rehired Mancini, and his first act of business was to buy Fabianski from me and name him the starter. Hilarious.

Hart got hurt with England, I believe, which is why he is starting.

My save at Blackpool is going magnificently.

My first year I won the Championship with timely signings like Craig Dawson and a few others. After getting around 34 million pounds to upgrade my team to stave off relegation, and scouring the free transfers, I manage to put together a pretty good team of journeymen and young talent.

Led by leading goal scorer...PETER UTAKA and new signing Clint Dempsey, I managed to finish 9th in the EPL my first year in. Spots on my team are quickly aging, MC and AMC both being a tremendous thorn in my side, but with a new ground being built for me, having upgraded my training facilities, upgraded my youth intake system to above average, and currently upgrading my youth facilities, I believe I have the staying power in the EPL. The Chelsea job was actually open but got turned down for it, but at least didn't get laughed at for applying. In fact, one board member said that I should be seriously considered, which was kind of cool to see.

My current direction is to find a young striker who can do what I need, perhaps pick up a young AMC to have behind Dempsey, and perhaps another DC, and I think I'm in Europe.

God this game can get so addicting at times, I can lose all track of time playing it.

Just completed the EPL/CL/FA Cup treble with Liverpool in 2018. Had a 200 mil transfer budget, which I used $0 of We scored 120 goals in the league.

I enjoyed knocking Chelsea out of the FA Cup and Champions League after they spent 100 million on new signings and knocked my youth team from the Carling Cup. During the season I finally got the 30 straight unbeaten in all competitions achievement. Then promptly lost the 31st 5-0 to Citeh. That's OK, they ended up with no silverware like usual.

Will be bringing in a 19-year old GK with almost identical attributes to Reina in to replace him, and a 20-year old Mexican defender from Chivas that who will make immediate contributions. That will cost me about 70 million, and other than that we're set for a repeat of that success.

All I had to do was win my last game and I'll get the last CL group spot but I didn't.

You'll have to recreate your manager because nomar discovered a glitch where dormant human controlled managers will not sell players. We weren't sure, so we deleted all the inactives that were still there. Hopefully they didn't sell anyone for you.

I lost 666 hours of game play after a hard disk crash.

That's all of February gone down the ****ter. I'm making sure to get an external drive and online backup for my save, Football Manager is serious business.

                      I would cry. Completely serious.

This reminds me that I need to update my backups for not only FM, but also my music.

Holy **** at that transfer budget. You now have no excuse for not winning everything every year. The only transfer budget I've seen that was higher was when Barcelona offered me something like $320 mil, but I didn't take that job. And since you spent none of the money, you should be approaching 1 bil net worth soon.

Thankfully my young players played well on the second leg, I rested my starters because of a important league fixture days later.

Best case scenario is that I get Europa League league spot.
