Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, Altimus is first in line with uofm on the waitlist. We actually only have 1 spot open due to Hamachi limiting a network to 5 members on its free accounts.
I think there is a way to run these network games now without Hamachi, but the chat feature is pretty convenient and it allows me to host a network with a different IP address.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
You can get it here: https://secure.logmein.com/products/.../download.aspx
Or by searching for LogMeIn Hamachi. Then you just go to network settings in FM, type in the IP address, set a password, and check the "run as server" option.
If someone wants to connect to the game, they go to Join Network Game, click on "Join another network" then type in the IP address and password.
It might take a bit of trial and error, and I know there are better guides out there on the usual FM sites like FM-base and sortitoutsi.
As for advancing, it's just like an offline save, except there are certain options you can set like forcing to continue once a certain percentage of players have clicked continue. If the manager of a user controlled team is not there, everything is controlled by the assistant manager. The only downfall there is that user-controlled teams without the user present will not accept bids for any of their players, but will buy them.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-07-2012, 05:09 PM.Comment

All Hamachi does is set up a simple network with an IP address separate from your computer's IP.

So how many leagues do you guys make active at one time? I plan on playing in England but I don't know what other leagues to make active. My laptop is giving me 3.5 stars in the CPU performance. I was thinking maybe keeping Spain, Italy and Germany active as well but I really have no idea.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I get like half of a star, and I have, Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Holland fully active. While having Portugal, Belgium and Brazil up but not playable with a large Database.
I would always recommend the big 6, Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, and Holland being loaded. The rest is up to where the user would like to manage.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Searching online, I found this was a common problem and the solution was to open "services" in control panel and switch Hamachi's processes from an automatic start to manual.
So if you're having trouble connecting, this might be the solution.Comment

With a large database, I currently have Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, USA, Holland, Portugal, Argentina, and Brazil as playable, and I get 3 stars.
If the speed is fine with less stars, I'll add more leagues.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
There's no need to worry about the FM Gods. I have a 3 away goal lead, and that's nearly insurmountable. This is the time I finally beat Lyon.
SpoilerWhat is it you were saying about the FM Gods again? I should have listened.
