I'm on the comeback train. I beat Getafe 2-1 away (originally 1-0) and Kobenhavn 2-0 away (originally 6-1). Plus I locked up that expiring ST again. Whew. Barca is still a HUGE task to beat it has to be said.

EDIT:
And a 2-1 away win over Zaragoza (originally 2-0). Whew. Midweek for Barca then we're all caught up. And no one else is going to be in the office tomorrow because of the All Star game so hopefully I can get to January to see my new signing in action haha

EDIT EDIT:
Lost 3-2 to Barca. Went down 0-2 but my sub ST off the bench nabbed one in the 75th and the equalizer in the 87th only for me to concede off of a long throw in the 89th. Ugh. Disappointing but also expected. I was playing an AMC at CDM and RWB at RAM (injuries and fatigue that I didn't face the first time around).

Feel ya on that. I've seen 4 reds my last 3 games (2 Ls and a W). Currently sitting in 12th in the league in early October. Not the start I had in mind. I have confidence that I'll be able to turn it around though. I can't keep on going down to 10 men, especially when I'm playing with conservative tackling; like my RAM cannot be elbowing players in the face anymore (yes, that was what the commentary said). Pathetic.

Started up a Dortmund save to go along with my United save. Will see how this goes.

Robert Lewandowski scores 30+ goals every year, you should be fine.


I'm also thinking of starting another save as well, probably going to choose a team in EPL or the English League Championship. Not sure yet.

This may be a (very) stupid question, but what're your guys' techniques at preventing injuries? Every game it seems someone is going down. I've been at this for 4-5 iterations of FM and I've never been able to figure it out. My training levels aren't high. I play (for the vast majority of the time) players who's fatigue is 95%+ and I have two physios who are 20's in physiotherapy. I just don't get it. Is it all due to players' hidden "injury proneness" attribute? **** is killing me.

I would think so. A players proneness is sometimes listed in their report.

So my La Liga form sucks (13th through 11 games but everyone else has played 12) but I've qualified from my UCL group with 2 games left. Weird.

I had a Watford save going for a while. I took over in 2014(ish) after completely dominating with Dinamo Zagreb in the Croatian First Division. I got Watford promoted their first season and then managed them for 7 or 8 seasons. I played a flat 4-4-2 as that always seems to do moderately well with an English squad. If I remember correctly, Ryan Tunnecliffe turns out solid.

After a strong run of form, I've taken Almeria to 6th in the league and am still 5-0-0 with just a game vs Sparta Prague left in the UCL. I'm in the first week in December. I'm hoping to jump to 4th by January, then once my new world-beater signing comes in, hopefully make a run at the league in the second half. This beginning of the season has been gut-wrenchingly horrible; I maintain 65% every game and outshoot the other team every game, yet can't seem to get goals. I've had to set my match preparation to "very-high/attacking" and it seems to be working.

Let's just say Ronaldo is never taking another penalty for Almeria again. He pulled a 3.7 rating. He's a 16 penalty/17 composure and the all time leading Almeria goal scorer (102 goals / 174 appearances / 23 years old) I feel so short-changed this season. Pathetic.

So it's January 2013 in my career save and I have Xerez in 6th place so far. In the matches against Real Madrid and Barca, I held RM to a 1-1 draw at home and lost to Barca 1-0 at Camp Nou (and it was due to Messi hitting a BOMB!). Only managed to lose 3 games all season (the first one, and 2 out of 3). Now I'm just trying to strengthen the middle of my team by bringing in a striker, CM, and a CD. Plus I managed to get Ox on loan (see nomar, it's possible), so the next 5 months should be fun.

I have to do everything I can to get him. I offered $155K p/w USD, a $90M release clause, and $3.8M agent fees. I'm currently $300k under my wage bill and have ~$15M in the bank.

He came in on Jan 2 and was valued at $28M. In his first appearance (a 2-1 win in the second leg of the Copa Del Rey vs Atletico Madrid) he managed a 7.0 and had the "second" assist on a wonderful throughball on the winning goal. He was unfortunately "looking complacent" or "looking uninterested" the entire game. I should also add that I have the best kind of problem, in that I have 6 AMCs/STs valued over $15M, with only one I paid over $4.1M for.

EDIT:
I should add that he had an absolutely insane assist and his goal in his first league appearance. He's so good...like unreal (I guess literally?).

He adds a brace in his third appearance -- a quarterfinal cup tie at Valencia.
