In a tactics testing game, I can go through multiple seasons in a day.
It takes 2-4 days in my normal games to get through a single season otherwise.badComment

Holy crap that's quick lol. I started with Tottenham and have been playing for two days and haven't gotten to the regular season yet. Played 4 or 5 friendlies and my opening round in the Europa cup winning 8-1 aggregate.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I don't play friendlies in mine, I let the AssMan handle them, so that helps and cuts out a month+ worth of games.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
For me it varies. It all depends on how much free time I have. I've lost entire weekends to the game where I get through a season. Other times it takes me a month or more.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just what Tim said really, there isn't a definite pace to play the game. I've had seasons take 2 days at most because I've had nothing to change. On the flip side, it could take a week or two to do a season.
A lot depends on whether or not you're in the "FM Mood" really. I haven't really done any serious FM'ing for a few days.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So close to being the European Champs... I just can't beat Real Madrid. Knocked me out of the CL past 3 years. Beat me in the final of Copa Del Rey in the past 2 years, and not to mention they kill me in the league. They're dominating in my save, won the CL for the past 4 years, and won the league the past 2 years.Comment

Do you guys not watch the games? I usually watch almost every game (not the whole game, but on the 'extended' highlights option) so it takes me probably a month to get through a season (sometimes more, sometimes less)University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Season 2 at St. Pauli ends in disappointment, finished in 3rd, and got matched to with Hamburg in the promotion playoff. Ended up losing the two leg playoff 3-1. Another season in 2. Bundesliga for us. Really gonna go for it this year. Promotion or bust!University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I've downloaded a North American league mega pack which pretty much makes every CONCACAF nation playable. The problem I have is that a lot of teams throughout have the default colours. I'm not sure whether to try make sure the top league of every nation has clubs with their own colours or try do them all, but that would take some serious time and effort.
Any suggestions?Comment

I also have my sliders at one notch below max speed. Max speed they look like cracked out ants. Even at the default speed it looks like they're moving through molasses to me.badComment

And I agree with Uber...I also up the match speed slider a couple ticks. Default just looks too slow to me as well.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I love watching the games and have it set to extended highlights as well. Could see me taking a little longer than a month for my first season but only because this is my first legit go at it. Once I know what I'm doing and all of that I think the seasons will go by faster.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Then after the games, I'll spend (depending on the opposition/importance of the game) anywhere from 2-10 minutes analyzing all the stats. Longer for close/more important games.
I subscribe to the theory that you can only learn from a close win/loss. If you get absolutely blown out, or you blow out the other team... it was just one of those days for the match engine.badComment
