Still haven't made the upgrade to 16....but I have decided I'm going to attempt something that I have never attempted before in FM15.....

The English Hero achievement...taking a club from Conference North/South all the way to the Premier League. Thought about taking the worst team and making it a true challenge...but I decided against that.

So, you are looking at the new manager of Barrow AFC....what am I thinking???

My success for the year is a bit misleading, I have about $15m per year tied up in "Monthly Installments" for a few players, and the board game me a huge budget and told me it was midtable or bust.

I'm a little over halfway through my third season at Real Madrid.

The good news: We have won 19 consecutive games in La Liga and lead 65 points to 47 points with only 15 games remaining. We also advanced into the quarterfinal knockout round out of our group in Champions League. In addition, we won the Spanish Supercup in the preseason.

The bad news: After going ahead 3-0 over mid-table Valencia in the Copa Del Rey Semifinals on the home leg, we appeared to be cruising to our third-straight Copa Del Rey finals (and possible championship). Instead, we got throttled 4-0 in extra time in the away leg for a 4-3 aggregate loss, with the winning goal coming in the 119th minute. We were utterly dominated in the game and Mattia de Sciglio (who I was playing for Marcelo since I thought we could afford to rest players given the huge lead we had after the home leg) was sent off in the 67th minute. Valencia added a goal late to make it 3-0, and down a man while being dominated, I went defensive and just hoped to make it through the overtime period without any goals being scored, so we could have a chance with penalty kicks. Well, that didn't work out, and we won't be winning out third-straight Copa Del Rey title after all. It was a thorough demolition in all aspects: Shots 27/8, Shots on Goal: 13/2.

The board doesn't consider the Copa Del Rey to be important, so it matters very little as far as job security goes, but I always liked the competition.

EDIT: The good news is that immediately following the Copa Del Rey disaster, we clobbered Espnanyol 4-0 (25/3 shots) and took a 20-point lead in La Liga. Our current league record is 22 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses.

The streak is over! Our 23-game winning streak and 35-game undefeated streak ended today with a 2-1 defeat at Santiago Bernabeu against Atletico. It was one of those games that just didn't go right. We had more shots and more chances than they did, but our shots just didn't go in and their keeper made some great saves. We fell behind 2-0 and cut the lead to a goal at the 75th minute, but we couldn't put in the tying goal and suffered our first league loss of the year.

Fawaz is just pumping money into the club, this is moderately ridiculous the amount of money I'm getting to spend, without having to improve expectations. Yes Fawaz, I'll take £71m for a mid table finish.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

After doing some research and testing, I decided to takeover Newcastle for my first proper save. I wanted to have some quality players while still scrapping for points. Starting with a budget of only 1.5 mil (I play in dollars), I knew I needed to sell at least one player some I could bring in some younger depth. Man U came in enquiring about Janmaat so I sold him for 12 mil up front with almost 8 mil in extras. With the 13.5 mil I now had I brought in Dominic Iorfa from wolves as the replacement for Janmaat as well as a couple other young depth players. Once the season kicked off, things went down hill to 18th place where I'm currently sitting at the end of December. We have been struggling to score goals which makes me think I need to add a striker in January to get us out of the relegation zone an into mid table where the board expects me to finish. Hopefully with the 11 mil I currently have (the board randomly gave me 10 mil in November) plus the funds from selling off two unhappy players (Siem de Jong and Sylvain Marveaux) I can save my job and the season. I'm really enjoying football manager even though I'm not doing so great and can't wait to continue after the holiday!

                        Strasbourg year 2 update:

After achieving promotion from the Championnat de France National in year one, I knew I was in for a huge challenge. The board gave me no transfer money and decided not to increase my payroll despite the leap to a higher division. The problem is the payroll was already paltry for the Championnat National, and now it was just pitiful. I had 8 players I wanted to keep entering contract years, and they each demanded around double what they were previously making. A higher salary for a higher division is understandable, except I couldn't afford that. So I had to give them all huge bonuses to make up for the difference in wages I could offer. I did request the board to give me more more wage money, but that would have required them to give up some of the profits I made them last season. Heaven forbid the board actually try and build a winning team.

I was predicted to finish dead last, and I started the season out with 1 draw and five losses in my first six matches. My squad were leaking goals like they were the Titanic and had just hit an iceberg. I knew things needed to change, so I went ultra defensive (even more so than last season) and started vaulting up the table. I currently sit way above expectations in 10th at the midway point. I was not, and still am not, expecting promotion. But if I can stay up and find a way to bring in some of the quality free transfers available (the Board is probably laughing at the very thought), this will have been a very successful season.

Finally, I've been offered interviews by Lorient, Aston Villa, and Mainz. I have no idea why they would even want to talk to a low-reputation, lower league manager such as myself. I turned them down, because I'm determined to bring Strasbourg back to Ligue 1. But if my board continues to act like the Florida Marlins front office, I may need to reconsider.

He was that way last year too. Had a great time with the Forest Save. Lansbury was my hero last year.

                              #%#%#%^#^#^#%*(@U*(%#U*(%#

Bounced out of Champions League in the semifinals for the third year in a row, and for the second time in three years by Barcelona!!!

We ended up getting red cards in both the home and away legs. Casemiro got a second yellow card after going up 3-1 in the second half of the home leg, so I went contain for the rest of the game and we held on for a 3-1 victory. In the away leg (Lucas Silva had to start as our BWM since Casemiro was suspended as a result of the previous match), we were down 3-1 in the 92nd minute when Ramos got a second yellow card and was sent off (something that has not been uncommon for him this year....). We managed to hold on in extra time down a man and it went to a penalty shootout, but after making the first penalty, we inexplicably missed the next four penalty kicks and lost the penalty shootout 3-1. Just pathetic.

We had knocked out Manchester City, who won the last two Champions League Titles, in the quarterfinal round, too.

The worst thing is that Barcelona hasn't even been very good this year. Messi is out of the year and they are third in La Liga, over 20 points back from us. We also swept them in La Liga this year 2-0 (4-1 at home and 4-3 on the road).

At least we locked up La Liga with seven games to spare, though our form hasn't been as great since we locked it up, as we've now lost three games in league.

EDIT: As many red cards as we've racked up this year, maybe I should think about activating the "stay on feet" instruction.

I guess this is one way you can lose to the top team in the league in stoppage time.

On another note, I'm glad we're getting a new stadium in 2 years. That pitch is terrible.
