I was pretty confident after the friendlies... lol

We caught the injury bug in a bad way. A key defender and midfielder went down with multi-week injuries. Another rotational starter is out for months. A couple other injuries had me at bare-bones, with the decision to play a central midfielder at LB, or call up a 16 year old LB who is nowhere near ready to play for the first team.

Our expectations for the season are to "fight bravely against relegation". So not too much is expected, but I need to start getting some results here, and fast. We should be RELATIVELY back to healthy soon, so getting some of those key pieces back will help. Hopefully.

Oh, and here was the Sunderland match:

Came roaring back from 0-2 down, scored three goals in 21 minutes. I was basically celebrating my first result as a manager. Was going to tell the team to pack it in thinking "Alright, even if they get another goal, we'll still get a point against a much stronger team". Before I could get my instructions in, they equalized. Then immediately scored again to go up 4-3.

I've never seen this as a personality. But goalkeepers have it as an attribute.

eccentric means strange or unusual. In terms of GK the higher it is the more the are able to make acrobatic crazy saves.

For goalkeepers, it means a higher probability of making fantastic saves. But it’s also a double-edged sword. A high eccentric rating combined with a low decisions rating can lead to some very dumb decisions, like tackling an attacking player, launching an ill-fated counter attack, etc.

So first season back in League One we won the title. Walked through the league and finished with 106 points. We also spent more money than we ever have. 22M.

Next season back in the Championship, we spent another 20M and won the league title on the last day over Leeds by one point. We went into the game in second place on GD and drew away to the eventual winners of the playoffs, Brighton. While Leeds lost at home to York, who needed all three points to avoid relegation.

So we are in the Premier league for the first time. And I've now spent three days in this one off-season overthinking every move I make (its only August 7th still, lol). And I've spent 33M and we are currently overspending on wages by 200K a week. I can feel the relegation already. I just hope they stick with me again!

And this is my all time favorite name of a singing.

After finishing 9th in the table in back to back years, I wanted something different in the 3rd year in the PL.

This is not what I had envisioned but it's different

You guys will never guess who Cardiff tied with for their only point on the year.

I forgot how nice penny pinching was in the lower leagues is, I started a team of youth players for two games after securing promotion, and due to various clauses not being met, I was able to save ~$5000, which, when you're 1.3m in the hole, every penny counts.

So after a promotion and league win well-earned, I decided to just kinda look at other jobs, wasn't really looking for anything specific, saw that Lyon was hiring, and decided I'd love to work there, but no way they'd go for me, but like hell I ain't gonna throw my name in the hat, once I applied for the job, the flood gates opened up. Union Berlin offered me an interview(and then a job), Chievo Verona offered me an interview, Angers SCO offered me an interview, Brentford offered me an interview, SC Olhanese offered me an interview(and then a job), and I even got what I thought was the pity interview from Lyon

So in this save Liverpool just fired the Human Thumb and replaced him with Alex Neil. What?

I'm sorry. Dyche wasn't fired. He left to take over Atletico Madrid. ****ing what? I wouldn't want to live in this alternate world.

And I keep forgetting to mention that Italy has taken over the world in this save. All the best players are Italian. No joke. All the best players at all the top clubs are Italian. Including mine. They've also won the last two world cups. And the last five CL finals were all won by Italian clubs. I've never seen Italy make a surge like this in FM before. England, Germany and France it happens to all the time. But this is a first for me seeing it with Italy.

I ****ing hate EU signing/registration rules. I have no desire to play my Monza (Italy) save because the South American striker I just signed can't play because I surpassed the limit to sign non-EU players. I can't even play him in the Champion's League, which I just qualified for the 1st time.
