Trikala's finances weren't improving at all, and the board were considering reducing the wage budget, so I tried to get out of there since we got taken over. Finally after a few misses, I took the Almere City job in the Netherlands.

My European run completely messed up my league form and almost got me fired.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After two and half seasons with Welling, I got an unexpected item in my inbox. Surely they wont give me the job if I take the interview, righ?
I'm managing in the Vanarama National League. We just missed out on promotion via the playoffs (although we won the league last year to get promoted and won the FA Trophy two years in a row). If I get this job it will be the coup of my FM career. A one and half star manager being offered a job by a three and half star rep club. The league is also 77 spots higher in the reputation chain. There is no way I get this.
edit: I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Bastards.Last edited by Zac; 06-26-2019, 03:29 PM.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I have too, but not usually something that far out of reach.
I ended up taking the Vidi job in Hungary. I wasn't in the mood to spend another season in VNL. I've also never managed in Hungary before.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
In the weirdest feeling I've ever had, I left Trikala for Almere City, and we've done great since I joined, but have you ever joined a club and just not felt "it?" Like I have no connection to many clubs but I can generate some sort of excitement or something from their history or pretend to create a future in mind, and I just can't with this club for some reason. I genuinely think that after the last two games of the year(and the promotion playoffs, however long they may last) I'm just going to resign and look for a new job after just 1/2 a season.Support Local Sports

FM19 on sale on Steam....I've become a Rangers legend and the greatest American manager in history (suck it Bruce Arena) in FM18...so I guess it's time to hit sortitoutsi and start downloading some graphics.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Anyone had this happen...?
I promised two new signings I'd win the league (Andrew Robertson and Leon Bailey). Came down to the final day of the year, and I was level on points with Liverpool (2nd year in a row). The schedule somehow got weird so that Liverpool had to play Man United the following Tuesday for their 38th game. So, when I finished my last game, I "hadn't won" the league--but MY season was over, and they were super pissed and "can't trust me" (and subsequently request transfer--I JUST brought them in, in Jan). LIV goes on to lose to MANU and I win the league lol. Are they going to stay wanting a transfer? This is going to really piss me off, as I paid £40M for each of them. Anyway, I've got 2 matches left, FA Cup Final and Champions League Final. Both vs Liverpool lol.
