Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***

I personally thought Senderos had been garbage the last couple of seasons, but I agree - he was sent away too early and if we were going to sign Silvestre, we may as well as kept Senderos. I never thought i'd say that lol.

Until Wenger decides to change his tactics for specific matches, I think this is what will happen with Arsenal this year. I look at Man United - they win because their manager switches his tactics depending on the opponent...ie. their matches with Barca last year. They can play great football yet bog teams down when they need to.

this has been one of the ways to play Arsenal for about 5 years
the problem with overcomitting on set pieces is Arsenals ability to clear the ball win possesion and score inside 10 seconds of the free kick coming in.

The standard plan is to press the ball hard and fast all the time deny space behind and have 11 players work very hard to deny space. however an early goal and it tends to go to pot.

The major problem is a true enforcer in Midfield we miss a player capeble of covering the back 4 breaking up the play and passing to 1 of 3 quick skillful midfielders. being honest the Arsenal are a brittle side sometimes playing 60-70 mins of breathtaking footy totally destroying the team but not scoring before giving up a soft goal in the last 5 mins and losing the game.

one of my favorite games was 6-7 years ago at home to Fulham game ended 0-0 Arsenal had 27 shots on target and hit the woodwork 7 times!! Fulham had 1 shot which was cleared off the line in the 91st min!! just remember the motto of the club for the last 10 years or so

      "he's got a concussion boss"
      "can he play?"

Almunia, Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Silvestre, Djourou, Clichy, Diaby, Fabregas, Nasri, Denilson, Ramsey, Song, van Persie, Vela, Bendtner, Wilshere, Gibbs, Randall.

thats it thats the entire fit and available first team squad

so normal back four with Silvestre covering Gallas
front two of Bendtner and robin

midfield im guessing at Nasri (right wing) Fab Denilson and Diaby (left wing)

the good news is if we get 3 points tonight then its the kids in the last two games- which is one of the reasons that we do so welll developing talent at Arsenal
if your in the youth team thats also the second team plus first teamers coming back from injury.

you play in every round of the league cup and most years a game or two in the champions league

Won't it be that team minus RVP against Man Utd? I know it's only November but I think it's a must win for you guys. Hope you do it.

well your right RVP will be banned so we may end up playing Diaby in the hole as the 2nd striker

as to must win I think the title is beyond us this year
i think Liverpool with fold around Feb next year United will have ther normal finish to the season 30 point from 33 but chelsea look excellent except last night and against Liverpool

vela is going to get games in the champions league when/if we pre qualify, the league cup and sub appearances in the league this season he's a great prospect but cant handle a start in the EPL yet

think of him like last years Walcott

Does anyone know why Wenger keeps trotting out Bendtner once a week? I'm with Acid, give Vela a chance. He can't be any worse than Nicholas.

It's tough for Vela to prove anything when he gets 10 minutes in a Champions League game.

I would give him a Premier League start once in awhile, against a lesser team that we should beat...he'd play with more determination than RVP or Adebayor, because he'll want to prove to Wenger that he can start consistently.

But that just makes too much sense for Arsene to do it.

You're a little short staffed for the United game. Not too sure where your goals are going to come from with no RVP, Ade and Walcott. But here's hoping Man Utd drop points. All the best tomorrow.

I agree although Bendtner can be good. He's just been going through a rough patch IMO, but he's been so ****ty that he could fertilize a farm lol.

I want to see Vela though. He's our next big thing

What a game! Nasri played well. I was a little scared when Rafael scored that goal at end, but Arsenal pulled in an awesome win!

Samir Nasri is a legend in the making - a class player and he's only going to get better.

Rafael's goal was sweet though. Great game and even better win. We needed that one and the team isn't dead yet.

I really can't wait for my Nasri jersey to come in now lol
