He was a step or two behind all game. Think it's time to hand over the reigns to Rafael. He looked quite composed out there.

I had nightmares of the Scum game when Man Utd. scored that goal, but thankfully that was it.

        SAMIR NASRI IS THE MAN!!!!!

        I need his jersey ASAP.

No way in hell did I think we were going to get any points in that game when I saw we were trotting out Bendtner and Diaby up front. I was starting to worry about Nasri, but I'm not worried anymore. Hell even Gallas and Silvestre played well.

Worried about Nasri? He's been quality since his first game, he's picked up a few injuries but he's always looked good on the pitch to me.

            His second goal was sublime.

He's always looked good to be, too.

I was nervous about Diaby and Bendtner and up front, but it wound up not mattering.

Bendtner frustrates me because he makes great runs, puts himself in great position, and always somehow misses by inches. There were two headers that should have been goals, but just missed putting his head on the ball. Hopefully one of these games he will connect.

I just didn't know if he was going to be physically big enough to handle the EPL. Nothing about his quality concerned me at all.

Nasri has been quality from the day he joined us. Don't get me wrong - I liked and still like Hleb, but what Nasri has already shwon is that he can score goals unlike Hleb when he was at Arsenal.

I hope this is the win we need to turn our season around

Great win. This 5 man midfield looks promising. Especially with Diaby height in the center next to Fabregas and Denilson.

because starting Vela on his own against Rio and Vidick would be nuts.

Bendtner is strong enough to hold the ball up and allow the 5 man midfield to join the attack, playing vela is pointless as he plays off the sholder of the last man and needs the ball slotting in behind the back four hard to pass the ball through two banks of 4 as we saw.

Vela will get his chance but dont base your opinion on the 20 mins you ve seen of him bear in mind Wenger get to see him for 3-4 hours, 4 or 5 days a week. Dont think i could name a better judge of talent than Arsene Wenger in fact im trying to think of which players have nt made it and have played good football since maybe Anelka (but he was sold for profit) possibly Viera but his form was poor and he's had alot of injuries. the most likely to succeed is Flamini but as yet he has nt.

                      in Arsene we trust!

Vela will have his chance tomorrow in the Carling Cup. It will be interesting to see who Wenger puts out there? Does he go all kids or add some veterans like Djourou.

I've watced Vela for a few years, so it's safe to say I've seen him for more than 20 minutes.

He's quality, and he's a tough player who doesn't go down easily. Playing him against Rio and Vidic would have been interesting.

in that case id bow to your superior knowledge of the player
but id have to say on loan in the spanish second division(i think im right in that-UD Salamanca and then appearances for Osasuna ) does nt really prepare you for the premiere. Give him time and im sure he'll get in the first team more often. hes flashed some excellent touches and the odd goal already this season but he's also disappeared in a few games which lets face it when your 18 is hardly suprising

Arsene has trotted out the young, young gunners for the Carling Cup match today. He's even put Simpson up front. Saving Bendtner for this weekend.

Wigan on the other hand has their strongest possible side other than an injured Emille Heskey.

Jay Simpson with his second goal of the game. After an amazing run by Vela. 2-0 Arsenal in the 70th.

Edit: 3-0 now, after a Vela goal. I agree with Acid, you atleast gotta give this kid a chance.
