Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***

If RVP or Adebayor slip up and look like they aren't trying in a match, I would want Wenger to put in Vela. He gives 110% every time he's on the pitch.

I'm a huge Vela homer and he's nowhere near ready to start consistently (that's not what I'm saying) but spot starts every once in awhile would do wonders for him. He has the tools to be a star in this league, he just needs the opportunity.

I would much rather see him in there than Bendtner. Bendtner imo hasn't done squat for this club. Especially in the most important aspect of his job, which is putting the ball in the back of the net. Great for his Country but not his Club.

The kids put on a show and Wilshere's a star in the making. I quite enjoyed watching them and Vela is going to be starting next season the way he's continuing to play.

Vela will get his chances Acid...don't worry. He's so good it's only a matter of time. I want to see guys like Merida get a chance too. He's going to be fabulous and Ramsey is someone I'm going to watch too

I can't wait until Vela, Wilshere, and Ramsey are in the first team. It's going to be glorious. I've had way more fun watching the youngsters play then I have watching the first team play, they're just so much fun to watch.

I really love Vela's finishing skills, and trust me they are only going to get better. I believe he will eventually get his chance but I also can't wait to see Wilshere and Ramsey play more too in the future. Wilshere is a really good passer.

The fact that Wilshere is 16 still amazes me. He has great control on the ball and excellent vision. Dude is going to be an absolute beast.

Ramsey's through ball today for Kieran Gibbs was brilliant. He'll be a special player as well (Ramsey).

                ok deep breath everybody

                couple of things i saw
that keeper needs to learn a bit about control when coming for the ball

                gibbs cant defend(yet)

ramsey and randle need to cut out the tricks and flicks when playing against solid opposition it may work in the reserves it does nt work (yet) at this level plus they have a tendency to kick u in the air. also some of the passing was terrible you cant lose the ball that easy and win 3-0(though we did, go figure)

wiltshire is going to be a superstar, if he continues to develope.
he's quick, has great acceleration excellent contro,l good vision, he's a team player, not afraid of a tackle and does nt fall over also and most amazing of all he does the simple stuff, in the next game watch his desision making!!
For a 16 year old to not try and beat everyone when your that good is simply unbelievable, he does nt waste possesion trying the impossible

and acid ......... about vela he needs a right foot lol

ok im starting to believe great finish for the third goal unselfish play for the second but he did get blown off the ball a bit to easy but a year in the gym and a heavy protein diet should fix that. I think he's good enough to be an impact sub as of right now and I accept that your assesment is/was better than mine lol and i go to almost every game !
                "whats wrong with him?"
                "he's got a concussion boss"
                "can he play?"
"boss he does nt know who he is!"
"well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"

Vela doesn't score ordinary goals, does he? I agree w/ goonertaff, Vela will most likely only be an impact sub this year (left midfield) . He will drop to 5th striker when Eduardo comes back.

Wow, after reading some blog coverage and the posts here, I can only once again lament that I can't get Setanta through Comcast. Where did I put DirectTV's phone number again?

Just watched the Arsenal game. I wish our academy was as good as yours!

Carlos Vela doesn't score tap ins does he? All his goals are master class.

All credit for finding Vela should go to Acid. I think he personally called ol' Arsene with the scouting scoop a few years ago. I'm only half-joking too, as he has been talking about him since his name first came up in connection with the Gunners...

lol, Fabianski has always been like, he kinda reminds me of Lehman when he does that but I do agree he does need control. I do feel he will become a way better goalkeeper than Alumnia.

Verizon carries Setanta as well if you can get FIOS. Kind of steep at $15 a month but I watch it almost every day.

Hello fellow Gunners! Should be a cracker on Saturday home to the Villans.
When I was just a little boy
I asked my father what would he be
Is he like Wrighty, or Titi henry?
Here’s what he said to me
oh Vela Vela, our Mexican superstar
                              He’s better than Lou Saha
                              oh Vela Vela…

I got to see Carlos Vela live at the Mexico/Argentina game in San Diego.

And whoever compared Fabianski to Lehmann is spot on. We need to get another keeper, I don't trust Fabianski or Almunia all that much. Give me Memo Ochoa. Vela should pitch Arsenal to Memo next time Mexico plays.
