According to Marca, we are on the verge of signing Juan Mata.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Marca is the pro Madrid newspaper. You are thinking of Sport, which is the pro Barca paper.

If it does happen, it would mean Cesc or Nasri are on their way out.

So, like you, I'll believe it when I see it.

As these Mata rumors continue to pick up steam (though nothing that can be considered 100% reliable yet), I hope it would be as a replacement for Nasri and not for Cesc. Cesc and Mata in the midfield would be lethal, and they would rack up an insane mount of assists.

So, Bendtner to Sporting for £9 million looks like it's on. I must say, this means we nearly got back what we spent for Gervinho. I call that a success, as just attitude wise, Gervinho seems to be the kind of player we need on this team. He genuinely seems like he's excited to play for the club and sees it as a huge opportunity. Bendtner on the other hand was too busy talking about how great he's supposed to be.

His moment to shine was when he missed the sitter against Barca that would've sent us through. A better striker makes that goal.

Overall in terms of our transfers, I'm not happy, but in terms Gervinho in and Bendtner out, I'm very happy. I think we'll be seeing even less of Chamakh now, which is sad considering how strong he started last year and how great he is in the air.

I still think their is room for Chamakh but he will have to work for his play time. He will be valuable down the stretch of the season as he adds much needed depth in the striker position.

I am still waiting for a good signing at the back, Wenger sure hasn't been as active in the transfer market as he said he would. I would really like him to get some signings before the season starts which is right around the corner.

Yeah, we were supposed to be "very active". Ha. I still think we sign a CB. Just not sure who.

Arsenal reportedly made a larger offer for Jagielka. Just me or should he be a last resort option if we couldn't get Samba or Cahill?

Wenger has always had an infatuation with Jagielka, not really sure why.

Arsène Wenger has hinted at easing Arsenal fans' frustration with moves for the Everton defender Phil Jagielka and the Valencia winger Juan Mata

So, let's say we sign Jagielka and Mata and we sell Fabregas.

I wouldn't be thrilled, but I wouldn't be upset. The Barca headache would finally go away and we'd be trying to replace Cesc as best we could and grabbing a CB.

Will it happen, eh...I think we make some signings soon.

Diaby set to miss ten weeks following ankle surgery. Can't really say I'm going to miss him.

Yeah, he's shown flashes of brilliance, but he's been way too inconsistent and has committed several needless fouls in big situations. I wouldn't be shedding any tears if he never saw any action this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have attempted to beat Arsenal to the signing on Valencia's Juan Mata by tabling a £22m bid

For ****s sake, Spurs. Back the **** off and let a real club do the bidding.

A real club? I didnt know Chelsea or United were in on Mata...

In somewhat related news Owen Coyle has said it's put up or shut up time in regards to Gary Cahill.

'"We know they have the interest, but if somebody is going to back that up, then do it - put your bid in, or if you don't, leave the kid alone and let him get on with his football. I think that is only fair for everybody,'' he said
