I'm not sure why Arsenal would pursue Suarez. just signed Giroud last season, give him a a chance to prove himself i think he can have a breakout season. if anything spend some money on a second striker while you invest in a defensive mid which has clearly been THE weakest point of the team.

Suarez will improve the team if he does sign, but not dramatically

Apparently Liverpool has accepted a 45 million pound bid. I'm pissed off we'd sell him to another team in the league. But that is a ton of cash.

The way he's been acting. **** it. That's a nice sum and we get to see all of the Gooners back him after they wanted him thrown out of the league after the "incident".

As usual, that was a false report. Carry on.

Can the season just start already?

Well, if you've read this thread or any of the many Arsenal blogs/websites, you'll see that many Gooners such as myself have been against the signing of Suarez. And that should be "incidents," not "incident," because the racism and biting incidents were separate. And then there's the refusal to shake Evra's hand. The fact is, I think Suarez has acted classless towards the fans at Pool. He may feel like he was misled by the club regarding the 40 mil clause, he may feel like the owners/management are trying to keep him there against his will, but the fans have been nothing but great to him. They're the ones who defended him and rallied around him during the Evra racism incident, becoming experts in the intricacies of South American Spanish. The ones who, despite Suarez's desire to leave and despite everything Suarez did to hurt the club, still gave him standing ovations during preseason matches. But Suarez ignored the standing O's, refusing to acknowledge the fans. Way to bite the hand that fed you, Suarez (pun intended).

I would much rather Arsenal spend the Suarez money on a player, or preferably multiple players, who are not going to inevitably spend time suspended for racism/biting/some other horrible act. I would rather the club buy players who won't disrespect fans who stuck by them through tough times and defended them through thick and thin.

I don't represent, or claim to represent, the entire Arsenal fandom, but I do know that a significant number of Gooners feel the same way I do.

Agreed on all counts. It's my fault for assuming, but if he were to go to Arsenal I think you would see many Gooners forgetting what they had said about him in the past.

He used to be my favorite player, being Uruguayan and all. My interest for Liverpool really picked up after he signed. After all the support he has been given and the way he has acted I just want him gone. for a lot of money of course.

Suarez interviews with The Telegraph and The Guardian tonight saying he wants to leave Liverpool and join Arsenal....

Also in The Mirror, we're being linked heavily with Ilkay Gundogan from Dortmund...would be an awesome signing.

Him and Suarez would be a ridiculous summer TBH...

Because he's a much better player than Giroud or any option you throw out there at ST. Not too mention he's a better fit in your system than Giroud who's great in the air but you guys don't have traditional wingers who fire crosses in. You stick Suarez up top with Cazorla behind him, Wilshere/Arteta sitting deeper and Ox/Theo/Podoski on the wings and you're team is instantly better.

IMO Arsenal doesn't need to add multiple fringe players like they would get with a few 10-15 mil acquisitions. They need an impact player like they had with RVP & Cesc.

Even if he becomes one of Arsenals best goalscorers, I don't think I would sing praises of Suarez. Grateful for the scoring, but I can't support racists. I'd also rather Arsenal not be in the headlines for Suarez doing dumb crap. As much as I'd love a PL title, I'd almost rather sit in 4th without acquiring someone like Suarez. Bring on Ilkay though!

I could care less what happened in the past. This team needs World Class players and Suarez is.

Sign him up. We've had douche bags before and we will have them again.

We have had DBs in the past, but not ones we spent 40+ million to acquire while knowing full-well their checkered past.

Gotta take a flyer on some guys with checkered pasts. Guys on Suarez's level just aren't interested in the club right now.

He wasn't my number 1 hope but he looks to be our only option at the moment. I would of rather had Higuain at 25 million over Suarez but not at 32 million.

I just want to win something and Luis Suarez will help us do that.

Yeah he misses the first 6 matches.
