Also Gedion Zelalem played tonight as well. People keep raving about this 16 year-old kid and I hope I can catch a replay to see him play. Also he is USA eligible so raises the intrigue.

They had their chances in the second half and didn't take them, but overall it was another great defensive performance from us, and it's always nice to get a lot of goals. Podolski played well, as has been mentioned, and it was another fantastic day for Cazorla. If he keeps playing at this level then watch out.

The more I see about how coy AW is about Julian Draxler and the more smoke that comes out about negotiations, the more I think it might get done. Wenger denies flatly with a grin, that usually means something good.

Up 2-1, we need to hold on in games like that.

It already seems like the title will be decided by a few points this year, and we just lost two today.

Honestly, we deserved zilch yesterday. Southampton outplayed, out hustled and tactically killed us except for that small seven minute period early after the break. It started with bad tactics from the boss when the game started to awful passing and play. I have no clue what Arsene was thinking by letting Gnabry play on the right when he likes to dip inside leaving Luke Shaw acres of space to work on that side. He left Sagna totally exposed all night.

If we look in the mirror, I can maybe point to one game where the squad played well for an entire 90 in the past 2 months and that was Spuds in the cup. The form hasn't been good for awhile and with run of games coming we really need a come to Jesus meeting to get the form back.

You add Ramsey being out another 4-6 weeks and it's not looking good peeps.

Four game suspension for Flamini. Let's hope he learns from this and doesn't attempt any more two footed tackles.

Didn't realize his tackle was that bad.

Defensive mid is not a position you want to be lacking in when you face Liverpool (which happens twice during his suspension).

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***

The thing about his tackle is that while it was two footed, it was incredibly controlled and his momentum was pointed straight into the ground at the ball. He wasn't moving parallel to the ground, and wasn't going into the player with two feet. Instead, it was into the ground with two feet.

With that said, as Arsene said, if you're going to give reds for all two footed tackles, then it includes that one.

As for him learning—I don't think this will change his game at all, as it shouldn't. What makes him so valuable to us is what makes him do that tackle once a season. He's going to miss games, and we must live with it. But I'd rather have him miss some games than not be there to give us the balls when we need them.

At the end of the day, it's a stupid tackle from him, and he knows better. It was malicious, and he clearly won the ball and pretty much no man, but it's still too dangerous and stupid.

As for his absence, I think Arteta can do a decent job in that role. I see nothing wrong with a midfield of Wilshere, Arteta, and Rosicky for a few weeks.

The key will be how they rotate in to attack and then press after losing the ball. Flamini is great at the chasing pest role, nipping at the heals. Wilshere is also good at that, but has a tendency to pick up yellows.

We haven't lost a game since that city defeat, and yesterday is the only game I remember in a while where we played poorly. Its not all doom and gloom

I'm okay with a midfielder, given we're thin at that position ATM, but I would still prefer a striker.

I have no idea if Kallstrom will work out, but I have faith in those who made the decision on him. He won two titles with Lyon, so I'm sure he's no slouch. It's nice to see us fill a hole in midfield due to suspension and injuries.
