Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***

The fact that Wenger thought playing Ozil on the left wing with Nacho man truly pissed me off. That side got worn out all day and truly left Monreal out to dry. True, pure stupidity. I get we were trying accomodate Wilshere, but look he is way too similar and not as good Ramsey is right now. Wilshere needs to ride the pine pony until further notice.

Yes Ozil plays the Wing for Germany but he has world class guys like Boateng and Howedes covering him. Plus once he went inside, we looked like ourselves.

Chambers will be good, really good but you don't take a 19 year CB on the road against a skilled side like Everton. Arsene put undue pressure on that kid.

Today proved we desperately need a DM. Arsene needs to quit be stubborn and let it go. Flamini and Arteta aren't gonna win us the EPL.

Be happy we got a point, cause we deserved nothing. The international break can't come fast enough for us cause we need a rethink.

This is now one of those times where I wonder if we did end up losing 2-0, we might be more likely to make another transfer or two. But, since we pulled out the draw, we're fine!

But not really. Don't disappoint, Arsene.

We were so poor today. Arsenal always know how to stress me out!

As much as I like Giroud, we need someone like Cavani up front if we want to win the league, also a proper DM is needed. Sanchez should be played on the wing, Ozil should be in the middle to be his most effective. I'm just hoping we get through on Wednesday and then with the Champions League we can seriously get 3/4 more good players (unlikely.) If Man United can get Di Maria with no European football then surely we can bring in some real difference makers!

I had this thought as well! Especially when Giroud scored the equalizer, that immediately made me think that Wenger will stick with what we've got up front.

I hear Welback is leaving MAN U. I don't know if he is the long term answer, but he is the kind of signing I think Wenger would go for.
Cazorla has been disappointing for a year now. He's too sluggish and usually takes too long to do anything on the wing. Cazorla on the wing is a waste. Play him as a 10 or bench him. Sure he delivered a great assist today, but it's not like he does this every game.

I agree he needs to play centrally more often, however when we don't have Walcott, he has been the most consistent playing out there. He provides scoring options as a free kicker as well. Maybe he didn't put up sick numbers last year, but the team won a lot with him playing on the wing.

Interesting stat I just saw on Match of the Day—in 45 minutes, Alexis didn't had 26 touches, and none of them were in the box. Perhaps him up front won't work at all.

I think he works up front, but in that match he had to keep coming back to get the ball, which wasn't his fault. Arsenal's service and passing were poor through much of the match, so I don't think we can evaluate Alexis's performance as a striker based on what we saw. I would still rather Alexis play on the wing so he can dribble at defenders and play in a killer ball, but no striker is going to play well if he gets no service.

Rumors going around that we may be interested in a Luis Gustavo and are look at Podolski swap for him plus cash. I'm more than fine with this, but I have a feeling the true target should be Carvalho if Real is going to keep Khedira.

I felt we should have got Luis last year he is a more proven than Carvahlo and might be cheaper. Like many of you said, if any purchases happen it won't be until Arsenal clinch a confirmed spot in the group stages of the UCL.

Well surely he needs to sign a striker now... and I would love to see Joel Campbell get some playing time, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sanogo starts on Wednesday.

Sucks to be missing out on Kastos, I am hearing Winston Reid is the next eye for Arsenal. Seen him play at West Ham plenty of times. He is good but not quite sure he will fit into Arsenal.

Looks like the timeline is 3 months. Well, Arsene, it's time to buy a striker. And a DM. And a CB. And maybe another forward if Podolski leaves.

I just can't see how we can let Podolski leave at this point! I think he's underrated!
