Poor Ramsey. I'm so bummed out right now.

Ramsey.
Overshadows the win and only being down 3 points.
Shawcross's reaction showed that it wasn't malicious and he was clearly broken up about it.
I hope this doesn't have the same effect on the Gunners that the Eduardo injury had.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
At this point I could honestly not give a **** less how Shawcross is feeling. Sick of seeing reports of how nice of a guy he is, which Wenger said would happen. I'm not saying it was malicious, because it was not, but it still happened and was a very clumsy tackle. He will not be labeled anything bad from this, but Ramsey is left wondering if he'll ever be the same on the pitch again.
It seems so far that people would rather talk about how unfortunate it was for him, rather than Ramsey.
Honestly, the absolute worst part was seeing the other players react, most notably Fabregas. I had a sick feeling in my stomach today when I heard about it, and I it feels even worse now that I saw it.
Also, after seeing it, I'm very glad that it didn't appear to be malicious. I just posted not long ago about how many fouls Fabregas suffers, and how the whole, "knock Arsenal around" strategy goes to far sometimes, with just blatant, clumsy and dangerous challenges. It doesn't appear this was directly related, but I can't help but feel in some way that these things would not happen, if players didn't try and play overly physical or tough, especially when one team has been labeled not to be tough.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
The great thing about our wise spending the last few years is that it will pay off in the long run. In about 5 or 10 years (I know thats a long time away) once we finally finish paying off the Emirates.
We will be swimming in cash. And will probably be the best team in the EPL for the next couple of decades.Comment

I'm so pissed its not even funny.
Screw Ryan Shawcross and Dan Smith and Martin Taylor. These guys have been doing the same thing that teams have been doing against us for years. Thats repeatedly kicking the **** out of our players. And because were not an English team, the media thinks its alright, thats horsecrap.
This is the 3rd time this has happened in a very short time. No other team in the world has had this happen to them, and its not a coincidence, not when it happens on numerous occasions.
The funny thing is you see nothing condemming Shawcross from the English media. Quite the contrary, you actually see articles feeling sorry for him, like he was the one that got his leg snapped in half.
Gallas was cruxified for a tackle that didn't even produce and injury. And don't get me started on the Eduardo situation. Bottom line is that the English medias bias against Arsenal and its players is borderline slander. And is the main cause of the Ramsey injury yesterday.
Arseblogger sums it up very well.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Shawcross seems as if he could be blatantly aiming for Adebayor's ankle in November of 2008:
In 2007, Shawcross also broke Francis Jeffers (former Arsenal player) ankle in a challenge, and was immediately noted not to be "that kind of player", or one that would do such a thing on purpose.
I'm getting more and more upset about this as more time passes.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
I'm bummed overall about Ramsey....he's got such a bright future and I saw him as a future star. I just pray he can fully recover from his injury and develop the way we all think he will
Don't even get me started on Shawcross
Having said that, I was impressed the players didn't fold and were able to win that game under the circumstances. For some reason, I just feel that we will be even stronger and push harder to win the league....we have a different captain and because everyone know what happened when Eduardo went down, the team will play even harderComment

It wasn't a lunge, these challenges were made every week in the 80's.

Straight red cards are usually handed out for really bad challenges, atleast thats how I've always interpreted the rules."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Exactly....The challenge was reckless....end of story. I'm certain Shawcross didn't mean it, but everyone knows it was a bad tackle.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to us mounting a title challenge and coming out as championsComment
