Honestly, would anyone bet money on him scoring a goal in the World Cup? I wouldn't.

Wouldn't be shocked to see him deployed on the left on Saturday.

I sure wish Brek Shea had continued to develop. He would look great on the left wing right about now.

I think against nigeria we will see the closest thing to the starting lineup against ghana.

I think he will come through for 1 goal, hopefully it means something and isn't in the final minutes of a deciding loss or anything. Last match he finally got one but was called off for a call that I think could have gone either way.

              Hypothetical...

What if Portugal doesn't get Ronaldo and Pepe fully healthy? Does that change your outlook?

Not having a healthy Ronaldo would defiantly change the game, not sure how much that would help a team like USA win though. They still have to score somehow.

All this talk about the offense. It's the defense that scares me. Jozy has played fine in the two friendlies. If he keeps doing what he's doing, he'll eventually find the net. But it doesn't matter if the back line is all over the place. I have a feeling this diamond formation is going to get us killed.

I agree the defense is scary. I was just talking if Ronaldo was not playing, I think that would help the defense a lot, but as a whole team not sure how much it would help if we can't score too.

Nothing wrong if all we do is draw Portugal. (If we have beaten Ghana).

If we beat Ghana, draw with Portugal and keep it close against Germany, I'd say that'd be the best we could hope for and that *could* get us into the knockouts. It'd be a tall task, especially with a healthy Ronaldo, but I don't think it's too far fetched.

I don't either. Not finding much optimism but I'm trying to keep my spirits up. There is a reason they play the games.

Just by beating Ghana I will be happy since they have knocked us out the last two world cups. Revenge is a nice thing sometimes

The Ghana game is all that matters now IMO. No need to talk about the other two teams, USA beats Ghana, the whole tourney opens up. Lose to Ghana and we are done.
