re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yeah, I meant in that tie with NZ. But that's also kind of my point. You back into 4th in CONCACAF and the only time you really have to have to worry is if it's the year you play 5th place CONMEBOL.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Difference between Howard and Donovan is Howard was actually playing for his club.
Still though, I feel that Guzan should be the #1 and if Howard wants the spot back he'll have to take it.
Both of them didn't exactly have the best form at the club level last season.

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Is that better or worse tho? Landon wanted a break from everything, while Howard just didn't feel like playing for this squad. If it's about showing commitment to the national team, they're either in the same boat or Landon gets the edge. If it's about form or skill level, Landon did pretty much dominate that 2013 Gold Cup after his break.
I just think Klinsmann has to be somewhat consistent.Comment

It wasn't just the hiatus with Donovan. There was a history between JK and LD.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Plus I think it was the timing? Donovan did it right in the middle of world cup qualifying. Howard took his immediately after the world cup, when most managers are wanting to experiment anyways.

Yeah although Beckerman is 33 so he's near the end of his shelf-life anyways when it comes to the USMNT. Hopefully Diskerud will take make that position his but he still needs some work there.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
I think he gets through the next World Cup. If the team has a similar result to the last time he will be gone. Look the US does not have world class talent on balance but they could be this good with someone like Bradley in charge. They hired JK to do something special and so far he has not delivered.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
The players just aren't there. You can change coaches all you want, but there's only so much this team can achieve with this talent. There's a decent chance they'll beat the winner of Jamaica/Mex, and then people will be back to pretending they're better than they are. I think JK is the right coach because he's realistic, and he knows they have to survive on heart, grit and taking teams by surprise, because the talent is what it is.Comment
