Kinda depressing to watch USMNT get completely and utterly outclassed by Brazil, and then see Mexico leading Argentina (with Messi) 2-0.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

People act as if just because Brazil got smoked by Germany that they're not still a really really good side.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Brazil under Dunga also doesn't play like Brazil, I think that is where most people's expectations came from. The game yesterday was honestly an outlier for Dunga's Brazil, he is actually a pretty bad coach. If we hadn't played like hot steaming garbage, we could have easily snagged a few more goals.
Ultimately, I think people are starting to realize that Klinsmann isn't that great of a coach either. He has done wonders for our NT in terms of setting us up for the future, but if we want to progress to the next level we will eventually need to replace him.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
That was just utterly embarrassing. JK stop F**King with lineups. Especially back line. How they ever going to build relationship together. Just driving me crazy. No more tinkering. Believe last *** whooping like this was at same stadium against Spain in 2011. Wow we have progressed?

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
But what is the next level? A top 10 team? Get to the semis in the the WC? I don't see that ever happening, regardless of who is the coach. I think people read too much into the US overachieving at the WC every 4 years, and when they win a couple of friendlies (Germany, Holland). They were lucky to not lose by 5-6 goals in the round of 16 in 2014, so that's pretty much where they are.Comment

As a matter of fact, that should be our aim, Greece circa 2004 that is. They won that Euro because they were an incredibly organized practically singular unit, and their fitness levels were utter insanity. That's us. That is absolutely us. Our players are consistently some of the fittest at any given tournament, and we overachieve due to our often very good team chemistry.
We are trying to force ourselves to be something we aren't (not yet anyway).
With the right coaching and tactics we could be a very formidable side.Comment
