Berhalter hasn't earned the job. His brother is head of USS, yes?

What has he done? What's his record? It's not great...

Hiring him is more of the same...might as well be Arena.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but this organization has a very distinct pattern, and what seem like a bunch of "members" that have no real desire to get stuck in, so to speak.

You'd think the younger kids would look hungrier...

        re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread

I like Gregg Berhalter a lot. I'm not exactly inspired by his hiring, and it's honestly just more infuriating that it took this long to get here, but I still like him. Having Pulisic play the Higuain part in Berhalter's set-up excites me a lot. Adams/McKennie in the midfield roles intrigues me. I like his tactical set-ups a lot, and while I'm unsure exactly what he'll bring in terms of development of players, I think he might be a good tactical fit.

Here's an insight into his tactics (by Tifofootball)

that being said, I'm 100% prepared to eat my words in a year.

          Greg Berhalter named USMNT manager.

MLS got their yes man who won’t stir the pot.

Berhalter has named his first group of call ups. Keep in mind this is just the January camp, which is typically very young and MLS-heavy due to the season break. First match is Jan 27 vs. Panama, followed by Feb 2 vs. Costa Rica.

GOALKEEPERS (4): Alex Bono (Toronto FC/CAN; 1/0), Sean Johnson (New York City FC; 5/0), Tyler Miller (LAFC; 0/0), Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew SC; 6/0)

DEFENDERS (10): Reggie Cannon (FC Dallas; 2/0), Greg Garza (FC Cincinnati; 10/0), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake; 0/0), Nick Lima (San Jose Earthquakes; 0/0), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls; 2/0), Daniel Lovitz (Montreal Impact/CAN; 0/0), Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union; 0/0), Keegan Rosenberry (Colorado Rapids; 0/0), Auston Trusty (Philadelphia Union; 0/0), Walker Zimmerman (LAFC; 4/1)

MIDFIELDERS (10): Kellyn Acosta (Colorado Rapids; 23/2), Paul Arriola (D.C. United; 17/2), Corey Baird (Real Salt Lake; 0/0), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC/CAN; 142/17), Russell Canouse (D.C. United; 0/0), Marky Delgado (Toronto FC/CAN; 6/0), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy; 5/1), Djordje Mihailovic (Chicago Fire; 0/0), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders FC; 5/0), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC; 11/0)

FORWARDS (3): Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers; 0/0), Christian Ramirez (LAFC; 0/0), Gyasi Zardes (Columbus Crew SC; 40/6)

As long as some of those 0s become 1s I'll be happy. Ebobisse and Ramirez deserve caps, I'm excited for more Reggie Cannon, Cristian Roldan and Wil Trapp

It makes me sad each time I see Michael Bradley’s name.

Floating a potential XI out there. Something like this would have me pretty excited.

I have a feeling Mexico is going to be laughing at the US for not pursuing Martino...

                    I hope I'm wrong.

                      Christian Ramirez simply scores goals.

                      Really like that Mihailovic kid.

I kind of liked that formation and lineup last night. Tyler Adams was awesome in that Pep fullback/deep middie position. The kid is legit awesome.

The goal was lucky but we were by far the better side.

Tyler Adams has quickly become my second favorite USMNT player, he's a joy to watch for club and country, and he's so comfortable it's crazy that he's just turned 20. I'm interested to see what he grows in to as a player, on a personal level, I love him as an out and out defensive midfielder in most systems, and I wonder under a different regime if we would get a 6/8 of Adams/McKennie

He has a motor like Kante. Watched him on the weekend vs Schalke and he was just as good.Speaking of McKinnie, have you heard anything about his injury? Looked bad
