Exactly...nothing really to play for in this Gold Cup.

TBH I think right now I'd take Dwyer over Morris as a backup option in Russia.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yeah I don't even really like Dwyer, just always seemed like a douche and his off-the-pitch personality kind of matches up with that.
However, he is definitely looking like maybe our best option for backup/rotation striker.Comment

He's actually pretty cool in person. Very down to earth. He's very grateful for where he came from. I'm a big fan of his journey, still not 100% convinced he is going to go to Russia though. Needs to work on that first touch like crazy.Comment

After seeing the play of these other teams in the competition, I might not be so surprised if the US wins it. Also forgot you can magically add 3 players after the group stage.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
His story makes me root hard for him. I reeeeally hope he can punch his ticket to Russia at some point. I think he would be a fantastic backup striker and no one else is really popping out at the moment.YNWAComment

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I hate Dwyer lol. Just said I've never really been a fan. I'm definitely a fan of his story.
A lot of players and non-KC fans don't like Dwyer as well, although that could very well be a "guilty by association" thing more than anything else.Comment

He kicked our keeper in the face and broke his nose this year, so....
It was one of those borderline things where another player would've pulled out, but he left his foot right in there. The kind of player you only like if he's on your team.
I don't even know anything about him off the field except that he should only be addressed as "Sydney's husband".Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-17-2017, 12:00 PM.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Anyway, I'm still pretty firmly in the Dwyer camp for backup striker, I just think none of the other options offer as much.
Morris probably the only other but I'm not sure he's consistent enough.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Typical match against a lower tier CONCACAF opponent. We play like garbage. We gut out a victory. And we were getting punched, bitten, studs up, and even a titty twister....no red cards.
El Salvador is a disgrace to the game.

I don't see us winning this tournament. I'd be surprised if we beat Costa Rica.
