I only hope that who ever takes charge permanently sticks with the good core of young talent and keeps them together so come 2022 we have a strong team who has played together off and on for almost 4 years.

Problem I think we will run into is we have too many people running against Gulati. As of right now Wynalda, Martino and Donovan are all running. I don't think I'd have a problem with any of them (I know people don't like Wynalda because he's obnoxious as a pundit, but on the coaching side of things he's actually pretty progressive), but I feel like we need to just pick one otherwise the votes will be too split and Gulati will win again.

Serious question. How much of what these guys are out there campaigning on can they actually directly affect?

And who actually votes on the position?

I agree 100% with this. I understand Pulisic not being called up for this one, but on the other hand, it'd be nice to see him start playing alongside some of these young guys. I'm sure they'll all get plenty of time together in the January camp, but like you said, I hope a lot of these players are included in that camp as well. Otherwise, this is just another throwaway set of friendly players.

Bedoya is really the only one I disagree with on the list, but I'm guessing he'll be the off-the-field leader of the young group. I was hoping to see Jonathan Gonzalez, but I'm guessing they let him stay at Monterrey for the title race they're currently in. He'll be another one to get excited about seeing in January.

All in all, I'm pretty excited to see these young guys get a shot. It might be a long 2 or 3 years until we get back into the heat of 2022 World Cup Qualifying, but these next 2 or 3 years are also very crucial for the future of the USMNT.

Pretty good stuff here. Give it a read if you haven't already. We're going to have a great leader for the next decade or more.

WHY DIDNT WE PLAY ANY OF THESE PLAYERS AT ANY POINT.

                Fuming honestly.

Also, just to get me more angry apparently, Bruce says Miazga and Brooks would have been the CB partnership in Russia if we’d have made it.

Epic troll job by Fox to have Bruce Arena doing this game btw.

                    That’s just him saving face.

Edit: Am I crazy in saying to let Sarachan stick around for a bit?

Anyone have any idea why Kellyn Rowe didn't play? I was looking forward in seeing him get some minutes.

Oh I know it's him saving face, I'd just rather he didn't say anything at all about it. He'd have played Omar and Besler until the heat-death of the universe. During his entire tenure Miazga played twice. Actually think Miazga got more minutes under Jurgen, as a teenager, than under Arena as a starter for an EL team.

As for Sarachan, I mean I definitely wouldn't keep him if we have the chance to get somebody like Big Sam or Michael O'Neill. For the time being though, just for a bit of continuity, yeah I don't see why not keep him until we can be sure to get a quality coach.

So apparently Bruce thinks his biggest mistake was changing his Gold Cup squad and adding in the Europe-based players. That’s basically what he said.

I can’t believe Fox gave him a soapbox to stand on. Unforkingbeleivable.

I won't be fully ready to move on until the 2018 World Cup is over, but it was good to see a bunch of young guys getting some USMNT action today! McKennie delivered as expected which had me fuming for sure. I thought Gooch looked really dangerous in his shift, and Miazga and Brooks looked good in the back. Luckily, they'll both be around for quite awhile (2022 included).

It's a good start to the rebuild if nothing else. I can't wait for January camp.

Really no point in appointing a full-time manager until after the World Cup when the options will be greater. In the meantime, I'm okay with letting Sarachan and crew work with the kids.
