My thoughts on Torres in that game is this: Good goal and some good work effort early but he halted a lot of solid counter attacks but fumbling over the ball or just making the wrong decision. Did like the passion though.

But enough about Fernando. A very good win but I thought they still could have played better. There should have been more shots and perhaps another goal. Luiz yellow card was a joke as well.

Yeah that was terrible. It wasn't a dive, he looked like he genuinely hurt himself. Plus, no Chelsea players appealed for a penalty in the first place.

Getting all 3 points today is crucial. Can't wait to watch the game after work.

Great win by Chelsea this morning. Easily a game that could have gone pear shaped with players mentally slacking off when on the road against a team "we should beat".

Great win but a great game? Not until the final 15 or so... there were a couple good occasions where the game could have gone 1-1. In the end they dominated but the score should have gone to that much earlier. Despite not scoring a goal, Torres was very active again which is good. The first goal was pure textbook.

Another win for Chelsea over Norwich. After a slow start, we win 4-1. Torres got another goal though blew a early chance on his right foot hesitating as opposed to hitting it. Fellow Spaniard Mata looked really good.

The back four worry me, they make it looked far too easy on occasion for Norwich which better sides will capitalize on.

Yeah the game was pretty wide open and our shaky back four gave Norwich some chances. Having said that, our attack was fun to watch. Torres blew another chance, but did score and tried an overhead kick. Mata is on fire right now and was cracking again in setting up Hazard and Ivanovic. Oscar continues to impress me with his poise and ability on the ball

Definitely need to tighten up at the back, but I'm really enjoying our start

Just imagine RVP on this team? Despite a solid game from Torres, he could have easily had a hat trick. Maybe I'm being too tough on his play but I don't think so. He far too often wastes more opportunities then he converts.

Mata's play has been amazing and he showing why he should be a call up every time up.

                      Oscar is the real deal.

Tough 30 something days upcoming though. Tottenham, Donetsk twice, United twice, Juventus, Liverpool and City.

Torres needs to go back to his quick thinking instinctive football which made him so deadly - not the second guessing, clumsy oaf he's turned into.

new to soccer games...and Torres went down for 5 months with acl injury in my brand new career mode. what about a replacement? would i move someone else to his position or plug in another starter somewhere or in real life what would happen? would they try to buy another stud from another team...

                          thanks

We (Chelsea) fans have to come to terms with Torres. Simply put, we bought a broken one dimensional player. The Torres of old was fearless, quick over his few steps, and always looked for goal. Injuries and overuse broke him down and we're now trying to mold him into a complete player. He's not the goal scorer he was but he's an all-around better player. I know most will say his primary role is to score but even in limited time last year he more than doubled his assist totals. He's chasing down and running more than ever and finally with some creative players he can return to his best role, running the channels. Last year we were successful (late in the year) when we played to Drogba's strengths, direct play. Fernando could never be that and when we tried to play fast under AVB we simply didn't have the right players. This year we have surrounded him with quick and skilled playmakers and he's bagged 6 in all competitions so far.

I was excited when we got him but I saw an injured player who didn't have a role resulting in his confidence getting killed. He's slowly building it back up but we're running him into the ground. We need Sturridge to get back quickly for cover, especially considering our upcoming fixture list.

I agree that he's been way better this year, but he has confidence issues still although not as bad as the last couple of years. When we bought him, he was misused or not used at all and the team around him was built around Drogba as you said. Now, with the 3 amigos (Hazard, Mata, and Oscar), this is his best opportunity to succeed. I still like Torres a lot and hope that he does have a good season

Let me start by saying I've supported Torres from the start of his Chelsea career...but the poor guy cannot catch a break. His confidence is directly tied to how the media perceives him. Last season he served a "substitute" role but then was criticized for not making an impact when only being offered 15minutes of play time a game. This year RDM wanted him to be confident by allowing him to be the "sole" CFC ST with the exception of Studge. But in doing so, he is now risking Torres' health/fatigue early in the season.

A healthy studge will help relieve this stress, and I think, will make for a better/fresher Torres who won't be "scared" of losing his starting role to Studge.
