Apparently we're in for Aubameyang. 70m is the number floating around. He's also posted pictures of him at an airport...but that could mean anything.

I'd be all for this signing. He's 28 but far ahead of any other striker we could sign this window IMO.

Age thing isn't as much of an issue with Auba since he's never injured and hasn't had a major injury his whole career, despite playing for multiple teams that have regular injury problems.

Would give us another few years to secure a younger replacement, or see if Bats can make the jump.

I still think Bats could do it, but I'd be much more down with Auba for 70m than Morata for 90

He's probably looking for at least one big day and I'm sure we'd double his wages. I think he's on ~60k a week although he signed an extension back in 2015 so it might be a little more.

People keep talking about how quick Liverpool are going to be but outside Salah and Mane their players aren't really that fast.

A front line of Hazard/Charly - Auba - Pedro/Willian is blistering.

Obviously depends a lot on stuff that may not happen, but a lineup like this:
Hazard - Auba - Pedro
Bakayoko - Kante
Sandro - Danilo
Rudiger - Luiz - Dave

That's got to be the quickest outfield in the league surely.

Back to reality; Danilo seems more and more likely these days, and we can only assume and hope Bakayoko is about done.

If we get our striker situation sorted out and another wingback then I think we are looking at a pretty good window despite all the doom and gloom.

Rudiger, Danilo, Bakayoko and a LWB to challenge Alonso, along with Charly getting an actual chance at the first team and having some of our brightest talents loaned to teams that are going to use them (RLC, Aina, Zouma, Sterling). All in all that would be a pretty good window there.

I'm not a big fan of Danilo. He hasn't impressed me in Madrid, granted he doesn't see the pitch often.

If we got Sandro and Danilo then that would be insane but I think the Sandro boat has sailed.

Auba has our CF, hmm... I have some reservations. He's quick and has great pace, perfect poacher but he won't bring what Costa did.

He isn't solely a pace merchant anymore. His all-around game improved greatly in the last 2 seasons, he should bring plenty of link-up play along with him, especially considering Dortmund tends to have lots of goals coming from midfielders and wide forwards just like we do.

Any news from you lot on Christiansen?

Back with the first team and currently training. Other than that, nothing. Seems as though he will likely be given a chance this season.

What intrigues about Auba, besides his overall game improving like Brah said, is that his speed is so tremendous teams will have to play a deep line to respect him opening up space underneath for Eden, Pedro, Willian, and Fab. Eden hasn't really had that here even with Diego making pretty intelligent runs. The flip-side is if teams want to play a high line vs us than Fab and Luiz are going to open teams up with through balls.

Belotti would give us the most comparable like-for-like switch for Diego but PEA offers something that Icardi, Belotti, and even Morata don't offer. The only downside is his age and the chance that Belotti puts in another season like he had this year driving up his price with the inevitable new contract at Torino.

What's interesting is how this Matic thing will play out. There's a good chance the knee surgery Bakayoko had will keep him out to start the season which means our midfield could be extremely thin if we let Matic and/or Nate walk. I'd personally let Matic walk for the sole point of his value won't increase anymore.
