What a stupid way to lose.

TFC player gets pulled down by other teams goalie while he(TFC player) had ball, nothing called. Then, with seconds left in an 8 minute stoppage time, Orlando player takes a dive and gets awarded penalty kick and obviously scores and wins the game. So instead of TFC getting 1 or 3 points, and their opponent getting 1 or 0, Orlando walks out with all 3pts.

Yeah, the penalty decisions were baffling.

I don't even care about soccer much at all, but each time I watch, moments like that remind me why I don't.

I was there about 5-6 years ago. It was all so confusing and different than the NFL. I found a few things very helpful:
              1) Choose a favorite MLS team (having just moved to Seattle, choosing the Sounders was easy for me). Find their SBNation blog and start reading it every day and trying to watch their games.

              2) Start watching national team games as well as some other soccer coverage. If you have NBCSN, they have an awesome show called "Premier League Match of the Day" which shows extended highlights for all the days games. It lets you get a feel for the teams and players in the English league.

              3) Use sites like SBISoccer.com or Sports Illustrated's soccer coverage to get a better feel for the soccer scene. I've found some of the podcasts to be very helpful.

I hope that's useful. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

To get into MLS just start watching games on FS1/ESPN on Sunday nights. I think they are on at like 7 pm EST usually. Also follow the league on any social media platform you are on. They like to post a lot (like 20 times a day).

If you're in LA (I'm only guessing by your avatar) and want to get into MLS, I seriously recommend attending a Galaxy game. Soccer games are usually somewhere between a sporting event and a social gathering, the crowds are super-friendly and there are entire sections standing and chanting throughout the game. It's a great thing to experience first-hand, once you go to one game you'll be marking your calendar for the next one.

We also have LAFC coming in a couple of years, if you want to get in on the ground floor.

And yeah, NBC's coverage of the Premier League is superb.

You might check out ESPN FC. It's on pretty much every day, and the guys have personality. Pretty sure they do an MLS wrap up show every week too.

If you start to get into it, maybe later in the year check out a late-season subscription to MLS Live. You get all the games live that aren't broadcast nationally and all matches in full replay or condensed mode (and highlights) on demand the next day.

I might keep an eye on LAFC. Watching a team from the very start would be really interesting, which is part of the allure of MLS for me. Watching a league grow is something I'm really interested in.

Toronto FC wins the Canadian Championship on a 94th minute strike by Will Johnson over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Wow, what a finish. Too bad Johnson looks like he suffered a knee injury on the play.

Justice for time wasting in stoppage time by the Whitecaps!
